Lovely and Summery today, blue skies and lots os sunshine at last. Routine morning did without our usual coffees and had an earlier lunch instead, because the Podiatry appointment was going to be a double one. Foot dressings followed by a date with an orthoptist who makes proper orthopaedic shoes and was going to fit them, or one of them today.
Podiatry went well foot is getting there slowly but is healing no doubt due to the very diligent attention given by the district nurses and the podiatry girls. The chap from the shoe fitting brought a pair of shoes in order to try them on and decided they need some adjustment. The shoes look quite nice actually I was quite surprised. Thought they were going to be clodhoppers!
That was all quite quick so we headed ff home nice and early. Vin wanted to get some compost and a couple more plants from the garden centre on the way back so that is where we went. Then he surprised me by turning into the posher garden centre for a little coffee in their new coffee shop cafe area, which is a complete change from what it used to be like. Lovely decor, and very nice tables and sofas etc., And...a really lovely coffee to boot. What a treat Bless him. I really enjoyed that. Thankyou Vin I enjoyed that.

Oooops!!
Up quite nice and early this morning because we had an appointment at the E.N.T. clinic at twelve o'clock. So we got ready. left the house at eleben ish and went our usual way to Aintree. Needless to sy the traffic was light so we got there early. Vin parked in the waiting area in front got me a wheelchair and went off to park the car. Caught up with me a bit later in the foyer and we went up to the clinic. The receptionist looked at the computer because she couldn't find my notes and found that we had an appointment alright but it was for the 7th of July not June. !!!! Ooops. Anyway she said she would see if they could fit me in and cancelled the one for July.
I did see a registrar quite quickly actually who asked questions, examined my ears said there was not much on the MRI scan except some fluid which could have been the infection at the time, de-waxed both ears which is great if a bit noisy :)
Then he discharged me from that clinic which I thought they would, and we set off to the co-op down the road whwere we had our sandwiches for lunch. So in the end what could have been a disaster turned ouyt to be excellent.
The cats along here have all been doing funny things. Our Tootsie has been asleep on our next door but ones bed!! and on his front room window sill and wouldn't move. Vin had to go and get her. Then we had the cat from the house at the end in our bedroom. Think they have been having some sort of mad cat week. What is that all about!!
Podiatry appointment tomorrow. At least we know that is right!
Looks like butter wouldn't melt :) :)

T'was on a Monday...
Start of another week and no appointments today except for the District Nurse sometime in the morning usually. In actual fact she came about twelve o'clock just as Vin had put our coffees down on the table. So he put them into a flask and we enjoyed them after she had gone.
It has definitely gone cooler today after being quite nice over the weekend. Vin said we might even have a fire tonight!!We haven't had a fire for a fair few nights now because we have just had the heater on and that's been enough. Last night we watched the Queen's birthday event in Windsor Park. Great show actually really enjoyable. The stars of the show for me were the white horses from France with a tiny little white horse who was so cute and beautifully trained. 900 horsess from all over the world, plus singers like Kylie Minogue, Alfie Bow,Katherine Jenkins and the like. All very enjoyable.
Vin is outside in the garden doing some weeding with his weed gun. He did the front this morning now he is on the back, he says a bit at a time.

Little Outing...
Yesterday we decided that we would go off for a little trip out somewhere so took ourselves off to Tesco. The advantage of that is that they have a Costa Coffee shop s I had a medio latte and Vin had a cortada,o it was a bit of a no brainer really. The idea was that I would be left with my drink while he whizzed round the shop and got all of the things we needed. Good plan. Normally Vin does the shopping on a Saturday but the district nurses are due today to do the dressing on my footso a change of routine was needed.
Quite sunny outsude today, we have at last had some nice weather, I have had to dig a lighter coat out, and next doors have had their first barbecues of the season. No doubt many more to come.
Little Tootsie has settled down nicely, she comes and goes as she wants, and is used to the territory a bit now. She still won't come on our knees properly yet though, but she will let me stroke her, you have to keep away from jer tail though!.or she will have your fingers!.
Watched the Eurovision Song Contest last night. Quite a good showw we thougght enjoyed it. Felt sorry for Australia thought they were going to win for a long time then right at the end Ukraine crept in to take the lead and win. Didn't particularly like their song either.U.K. as usual came about three from the bottom. ! I don't think anyone likes us any more..Ah Well better luck next year.

Here's Jenny !!
Well it's me again! Long time since I have been on here January to be exact. The reason for that is that I had a long time in hospital January actually!. Then I had mobility problems so xcouldn't get to the computer. It all started with a foot infection which ended up with a toe being removed so I am now Jenny 8 Toes!, then big infections on aaanother one which needed I.V. antibiotics in hospital and the infection affected my heart causing endocarditis which needed long term antibiotics. That's now all cleared but the foot is still being treated by podiatry at Aintree podiatry and the district nurses. So it is all still ongoing.
Our lives have been centred around going to different appointments, so we have been really busy actually.
The last couple of days we have had trouble with the network and it has been cutting out all the time. Very frustrating. but it seems to have cleared up now cross fingers.
Yesterday we went to Dunelm and bought four new pillows, a mattress protector pillow covers so they are going on the bed today. It will be lovely to sleep on decent pillows tonight.

A Little Dobbies...
A little Dobbies visit today for a change. After being in yesterday taking down the Christmas things it was nice to get out, even though it was quite blowy. Always seems to be blowy there don't know why must be an open area.
The last of the Christmas things out and still a reasonable sale going on, so we had a mooch for some bargains. Vin got a nice gift pack of cheese oatcakes and chutney for half price and I got my baubles for the swap next year, and some little shortbread stars for what turned out to be a quarter of the price. Think they had overbought those they had masses of them on sale. Then we went for our coffees not free unfortunately because we didn't have any vouchers left for January but a very nice flat white. I don't have those often so that was a nice change. We took our own biscuits so that made it cheaper.. (minge bags)
So, Christmas is all over then. Everything in our house put away, and it looks like they are getting ready in Dobbies for the spring bulbs and garden furniture etc., so the seasons roll around again. I think our Tootsie had a good Christmas, her first one in the family, she certainly enjoyed herself yesterday in the Christmas tree box :) :)
It was lovely coming home from Dobbies to be greeted by a little cat again, very comforting.

Sixth of January...
It is the sixth of January so traditionally the day yu are to remove the Christmas decorations. We do every year, and today fortunately we didn't have any appointments anywhere so were free to do that today. Hate taking them down actually because the house looks so bare when it is done, no lights anywhere and no tree lights twinkling away. Has to be done thoughm. We did get a lot of time from them this year however because with Jane having her "mini Christmas" in mid-November we got them up very early so we seem to have had them up for ages. Been lovely actually.
Like this one it's one of Jane's selfies, and a lovely picture of her and Vin.
Christmas dinner, beefless veggie loaf with yorkshire puds, sweetcorn, carrots, broccoli gravy and cranberry and white sauces. Chocolate brownies raspberries and cream to follow.
The festive table in the middle of November. Photo a bit out of focus for some reason but the idea is there. Great crackers from our Jane who bought them last January in Sainsbury's for half price. Beautiful they were too, we still have a box for next year too!!!
Vin has done stirling work today lifting everything (all the decorations) up and down from the cupbard where we keep them in our bedroom. It all has a place, one of our trees is up there while the other two are in the shed well wrapped up.
Tootsie had a wonderful time this morning while we were taking all of the ornaments down from the trees, she was having a good ld chew on the branches. Good for her teeth I suppose.
She certainly got the Divil in her this morning boing mad racing round with a bit of encouragement from Vin, who thought it was hilarious. This is her with her presents, she's had the most fun with the little balls with a bell inside. Tootsies first Christmas. Aaaah! must have been nicer than in their pens at the cattery. Wonder where she was last year?
So that's it. All over for another year till next November anyway. My gorgeous little snowman away for the next ten months or so. Love him to bits he was definitely a hit this Christmas. Thanks Jane XXXX
