Week five and still in lockdown but looking at some of the pictures in the papers you do wonder at the mentality of some people, out and not social distancing either.
However Boris is back and has already spoken about staying in lockdown and the need to be careful. Can't blame him for that since he had it quite bad, and I suppose he wouldn't want anyone else to go through it either. Talk on the radio of opening some shops etc., and when that would happen. That remains to be seen. Won't happen all at once anyway.
Jessie is still self isolating in Jane's room at the moment, although she did come up to see her Daddy this morning before breakfast, climed up his front and lay there looking all comfy and peaceful and padding him like mad. He said would you like to stroke her!! I did and that's my lot for the day!!
Jack next door is still on cage rest which he doesn't like apparently, but he needs to do that for safety. Hope he recovers soon, I like little Jack, he is a lovely cat and a real little character.
Jane sent us a picture of her goodies that she had bought from the M&S in Didsbury yesterday. She came home from nights, had a shower, and then went out early to catch the shop when it opened. She bought some nice things, and enough to keep her going for the week she reckons.
I've got him!!

Goodbye...Goodbye!!
Nope not to the blog, but to the Podiatry Clinic! After all these years too,Lost count of the number of years but it must be about four by now. Quite a number of hospital admissions with a variety of foot infections, and quite a few operations for procedures to remove toes or do various things to them, finally they seem to be on the upturn and i have been discharged into the community care now.
We had an appointment yesterday at Aintree with them to see the doctor and surprise surprise it turned out to be Mr Butcher who has done all of the procedures so knew my feet. The toe which has been causing trouble for a bit now seems to be healing over because a while ago one of the podiatrists removed a bit of loose bone which was preventing healing and that appears to have done the trick. it is healing over very well so he says it doesn't need any work doing to it now. He was originally going to remove said toe and others but waiting proved the right path. Result, now discharged.
I thought they should all have lined the corridor and clapped!!
The hospital was very odd, very quiet because of the lockdown, and the only people on the corridors were the nurses and doctors and other medical personel. Car parking was free which was a bonusSo that saved ys £3 pleasing Vin. No Costa Coffee afterwards because of the lockdown they are all shut so it was home for our coffees, very nice too.
Little Jack next door has been in the wars, he came home apparently with oil on him and walking awkwardly so our neighbour took him to the vets. He had lots of xrays done which apparently showed no broken bones but a deformity of the pelvis which the vet said he might have been born with. Anyway he was on cage rest, but she rang Vin up this morning to ask him if he could take a parcel in for her because she was at the vets agin, she wasn't happy with him. Hope he is ok, he is a lovely little cat, and quite often visits our back garden where Vin feed him biscuits. He has just come in to say they were back and Jack had had to have an enema oooh nasty! and he might need an operation. What a shame.
Jessie is still isolating, but on our bed , this time, not Janes bed. Vin was in the front room and she came to find him and settled on the bed.
Isolation.

All Change!
In these times of uncertainty things differ. Whereas vin usually goes shopping on a Saturday to Tesco and Sainsbury on a Sunday he has altered that to going once a week to Tesco on a Wednesday so today is the day. He has just rung up to say the queue isn't too long and it tends to move quickly so he should be alright. He goes with a list so has a good idea of what he wants if it isinstock however the shelves appear to be almost normal again.
Just said on the news that speeding offences arethroughthe roof, wonder why? Maybe its the empty roads, our Jane was saying last night that therewere a lot of people out either walking or cycling, it looked like a Bank Holiday. Stupid people think it is fine to speed because the roads are quiet and they can get away with it.
Jessie is not finding her little world disturbed too much. She gets fed when she wants, and she miaowsto tell Vin she is hungry. Jack boy from next door still comes to the back door to try and get in, Vin puts some biscuits through the cat flap and that seems to keep him happy.
Where's my Daddy?
Answer gone to get your supplies.

The Animal!
I walked along the landing this morning, well toddled really and said to Vin "where is the animal?" He went mad and said she isn't an animal she is my cat!! ooops, that's me told then! Anyway she wasn't in the bedroom so Jane's bed was empty.
Still all the news is about the virus which is of course incredibly important, with the death toll still reaching high numbers. The numbers in care homes very worrying, it must be terrible for their families who are not allowed to visit or be with their relatives.
Lovely sunny day here but still cool outside according to Vin who goes down for the paper in the mornings. Not that they are worth reading much, all about the virus or harry and Meghan having a hissy fit, over there in trump land. What a couple they are turning out to be!
The catty. (Not an animal!)

Jennifer's World!
Vin wakes me up in the morning and says "How is Jennifer's World today?" Well the answer is the same old same old.fifth week in lockdown and so far no sign of slowing down. Still thenumbers of deaths are high and admissions to hospital still in the many thousands. Also the care homes ina dreadful state with a lot of residents dying too of the virus. Just unbelievable how this thing has spread, all from China.
The BBC have got themselves going with online lessons available for children while they are off school, on their apps and all sorts of other devices too. Should help the parents a bit, those that are concerned anyway.
Still very quiet outside, not having the dentists in operation helps a lot, they usually have many cars outside which block up the road, and not many cars going up and down the road either. Like it used to be years ago.
Jessie is still in her self isolation in Jane's bedroom, asleep for ages on the end of the bed. She usually moveswhen I come in to use the computer but not today, she seems quite happy to stay there.
No doubt she will go and find her daddy soon.

Tootsie Day!
A little bit of a change today with a visit from the podiatrist! He comes on a Friday to redress my feet, complete with masks and all his stuff. Came and went quite early, tendsto come at the same time which is useful you are not left waiting all day. Lovely man, really friendly and down to earth.
Coronavirus still all over the news, every aspect of it being covered. Last night it was clapping for the carers which is a major problem it seems. A lot of older people dying and some care homes losing many of their residents. Very difficult for the relatives when they can't visit them but there are measures being made to get around this. Thankfully.
Jessie has taken herself off to hide somewhere, Vin can't find her so he worries. She does tend to run off when there is someone new in the house although not when jane comes home which is nice.
Favourite spot on the back of her Daddy's sofa!

Another Day Another Dollar Out!
Vin took himself off for the weekly shop to Tesco yesterday. Getting to be a regular day now that is. He got enough things to last the week mostly with a bit of a top up grom the local shop along the road.
Lovely weather today as it was yesterday, shame that people cannot go out really, we would be off to Dobbies by now but that is out, so at home instead. Good job we have our coffee machine!
Jane rasng up this morning she had been to her Tesco's to get some things she needed, and a fair amount of chocolate too which was half price or less. they have obviously not sold their stocks because they were reducing everything by half or less so she was well pleased.
Nothing much doing online either really, people are beginning to start to know someone who has died or got the virus now. certainly a terrible disease, the trouble is that yu don't know where or what it is and there is of course no vaccination against it yet because it is so new, but no doubt there are scientists all over the world racing to find one.
One little piece of good news is that a 99 year old man has been walking ten laps of his garden every day to raise he thought a thousand pounds for the NHS, well he did and more, the figure as I type this is now 12.8 MILLION!! Good for him.
Meanwhile here at home our Jessie continues to behave as normal. that is isolating on Jane's bed or in the front room, or her favourite place by her Daddy on the sofa!
Her favourite person!
