Big Week.!

Big week this week is! Firstly our wedding anniversary yesterday a big 46 years narried. Then it is Vin's birthday today, and he hits the big 70, where did that time go? and then it is Jane's birthday on  Thursday the 27th. What a week. Used to be great when we went to Disney we used to go somewhere for each celebration, but not so much here. At least Jane is off this week, so she can celebrate in Manchester.  We don't actually have anything planned for today which is a shame but it is the circumstances really preventing anything going on.

Today Monday it was the podiatry man's visit and he came around ten o'clock, Did the dressings on my right foot and all seems well, he seems to think that it will be soon out of dressings and clear. After all these years that is good news.

Jane sent a lovely card, with a great picture of her looking at a plate of Vin's pudding, which we only have on high days only really.  We did have one last night which was a lovely piece of cheesecake with chocolate ganache in it which melted in the mouth. A big treat and very nice too I must say.

Nice day today too, lovely and sunny, it was quite cold last night but fine today. However, we are due for a storm apparently, we shall see.!

So, on this lovely sunny day, many many many Happies my lovely Vin. You are a star!

Mid-Week Again!

Wednesday dawns duller and cooler thenk goodness. Pleasant relief from all that scorching hot weather of the last week or so. Jessie seems happier in this cooler clime than the hot weather too, she was a bit under  for a couple of days but we think it was just the heat getting to her

Vin has taken himself off to Tesco for the weekly shop,  we tend to run out of food by this time each week. otherwise everything very boring and samey. Nowhere to go and nothing to do except usual stop in things. We haven't been out to Dobbies in an age, maybe even this year, after january certainly. We thought that we might have gone thisweek but then we saw on the local FB that there was grass cutting on the by-pass and that always means long delays so decided to put it off for a week or so. These strange times we are living in have certainly affeted what we do. After going for the blood test at Aintree last week we left nice and early and ordinarily we would have gone to Costa for a coffee but not this time unfortunately, we came home instead. Shame but there it is.

Somebody wke her Daddy up this morning at some ungodly hour it was still dark. Jumped up on the bed and climbed up his body and he had to put his hand on her to stop her from going on his face. Vin said she jumped off quite quickly didn't want feeding apparently, that came later when she jumped up the second time! What a madam!!

Rain Rain!

Nice to have a bit of rain for a change, the air is a bit cooler today too which is lovely. it has been a bit too hot last week for us and it is quite hard to get cool, it is much easier to get warm than it is to cool down.

Monday morning and it was the usual visit from my podiatry man who came at his normal time which is about nine thirtyish. bit later than that this morning but no matter, vin was ready for him. of curse as soon as the doorbell went Jessie disappeared like a streak of black and whit up the stairs. Apparently my foot is healing very nicely and he says that it shouldn't be long before the dressings will be able to be left off completely.  It has only been about four years of visits, operations and dressings at the clinic in Aintree, such a long time really.

Vin will be back to his Wednesday shopping in Tesco this week, last week we went to Aintree for a blood test, and then a really quick visit to Tesco afterwards to get a couple of essentials. but not going anywhere this week. so back tonormal.

I think Jessie is in her usual hidey hole under Jane's bed where she feels safe. No doubt she will come out later when hungry, after a good long restful sleep.

Back safe with her Daddy.

Outing!

First time in ages. I had to get a blood test done so we decided to go yesterday. Left for Aintree at around half past ten and got there quite quickly. Vin parked outside the Elective care part of the hospital and walked me up to where they are done.  There was only one man waiting and as we got there the man can out of the blood test room and he got up to go with him so I was mext in.  Things done a bit differently, before we went into the corridor where the tests are done a nurst took our temperatures before and we were fine. Vin left me to go and park the car and actually i went straight in.  All masked obviously, got them from the front entrance. Came out of the test room to be told that there is a one way system turn right and first left door. put you outside the lifts. No sign of Vin so went down anyway. The lift door opened and there he was! he didn't have to move the car and we went straight out. One of the quickest procedures i have ever done there.

Home then, via a little trip to Tesco in Formby to get a flan for tea and some sprinkles for Jessie. He has gone off to get the shopping this morning for the week instead.

Really really hot weather here at the moment. Does not really make you want to go out. last night was so hot i couldn't get off to sleep and only slept in fits and starts, kept waking up because of the heat. What a country! Either pouring with rain or feezing cold and now a heatwave. A lot of flash floods in Scotland with a train being derailed when it hit a landslip. Three people were killed, the driver the conductor and one other passenger.   They seem to be blaming extreme weather conditions, causing the land slide, and the train went into it and de-railed.

Jessie doesn't seem to be bothered by the heat, but she doesn't go out much anyway.  What she does do is find the coolest part of the house.

Keeping cool as I can. Just waiting for my cream a bit later on. No hurry!

Flash ! Bang! Wallop!

Well! There we were sat in bed, all quiet and both of us reading, well I was, Vin was looking at his tablet,  and then all of ta sudden there was the loudest clap of thnder we have ever heard in our lives. it was like a bomb going off in the road outside. made us jump sky high.  I said to Vin is Jessie ok? We have had cats in the past who have been terrified by thunder and run off to hide, and we weren't sure how she would react. Vin went down to see and said she was just coming from the kitchen into the middle room and didn't seem bothered. he brought her upstairs where she lay on the bed for a bit before giving up and going off for her sleep.

The lightning continued for some time Vin said but i had gone to sleep, no more loud thunder, just the odd rumble.  That was enough though it was like a bomb going off.

Another warm day today, it was very hot and muggy yesterday, don't like this hot weather, it is so much easier to get warm than it is to get cool I always think.  Poor little Jess must be sweltering. Fur coats are very nice in the winter but not so nice in the heat of the summer.

Now there are reports of flash flooding in some areas of the country which isn't surprising given the amount of rain we had. Even hailstones at time too.

What Me a scaredy cat? Naah!

Ring Ring!

There was I in the bathrom this morning while Vin went down for the papers as i thought. Then there was a voice outside the bathroom door "There is a podiatry lady outside to see you" he says. Thing is we were not expecting one at all, Mark last week said he would be back in two weeks, meaning next Monday. Must  have been a lack of communication somewhere because a nice lady called Susan had arrived.

I got myself going and out of the bathroom and went downstairs in my pyjamas!!! but she didn't seem to mind that anyway.  She did my feet and off again by about a quarter past ten. Sorry Susan. She was really nice though and went off having done her job.

Weather continues being very hot today, feels even hotter than yesterday actually, but we are supposed to be getting thunderstorms, could do with a bit of good old fashioned rain we are used to in this country.  Pictures in the papers of crowded beaches pretty much all over, not a lot of social distancing involved either by the looks of them.

Talk now of a long-tailed Corona virus, which leaves people with a lot of probems after the initial bout of it. Causes all sorts of symptoms afterwards too by the sound of it.  Who would have thought that a little virus would have changed the world as we know it, certainly not at the beginning of the year.

Little Jessie of courase has disappeared somewhere, probably under Jane's bed where she can hide. She always does that when she hears the doorbell, and unfortunately she had a double whammy because she rang both doorbells, one is louder than the other!

Jane likes this one, her Christmas present last year. She looks very regal on this, proper little star!

Hot, Hot!!

According to the weather forecasters we are due for a heatwave in the next few days. judging by the way the sun is coming through the bedroom window it will be quite warm today. supposed to be around 227degrees today and about 34 down south too. They are very welcome to that, too hot for me that is.  No doubt there will be hoardes of people heading for the beaches as usual, traffic jams everywhere.

We are indoors mostly with the windows open and jessie is in the front room on the footstool, keeping as cool as she can.   Hope Jane isn't too warm in Manchester especially in her PPE putfit. They must be boiling.

Not very much going on here at all, just another day at the fun factory as is said!

The best cat indeed, there might or might not have been some Dreamies in the bowl!!
