Groundhog Day!

Indeed it is, same old same old really. It seems to be the same for a lot of people too, very cold this morning with a heavy frost on the buildings and on the cars too according to the Lord and Master! It is beginning to clear up a bit now, none on the shed roof which is a good sign.  Clouds of steam coming up from the boiler next door so they must be feeling the cold. Don't think they will be out in their hot tub!

No cats around I don't think yet, might be a little too cool for the one next door, but he was out in the drizzle yesterday looking for biscuits that Vin posts through the cat flap. I think he has a bit of a soft spot for little Jack, although I should call him big jack really he is quite a big boy!

The dreaded virus still costing lives and is all over the news. That and trumps behaviour in the USA over his non re-election to the presidents job. Don't know how the new one will get on there but a lot of ill feeling in the Trump camp. He is a bad loser, like a kid throwing his toys out of the pram. !

The lovely Jessie was plonking around on the bed at some ungodly hour this morning it was still dark anyway. Isn't that lovely!

I look up and see a pair of ears in the shadow, sitting on top of Vin's front!!

Midweek!

Wednesday already, and Vin has decided to have a change and go to tesco shopping tomorrow.  see on FB that they are now having a no mask no entry policy!  Not before time really, I would have thought that they should have been doing that for months already, but who am I to know better. Just common sense I would have thought.

Horrible wet rainy drizzly day here today, very grey skies, clouds of steam coming up from next door's outlet pipe so it must be cold. Usually means they have their heating full on and who can blame them. Quite cold as well.

Very little happening anywhere at the moment, nothingon any of the FB sites, and nothing here either. Onephone call yesterday from my health suppliers and delivery next Tuesday, Oooh how exciting..Not!

Jessie is having her normal restful time of it, not worrying about anything except where her next meal is coming from. Don't worry Jessie, he is off to Tesco tomorrow to get your catty food!

She spends a lot of her snoozy hours on her lovely red blanky which suits her beautifuly.

Today Vin is going to put my gorgeous picture up where it can be seen most of the day. Itis of the manchester bee and Jane had it framed for me for christmas. Ilove it.

Here We Go Again!

Another week in the funfactory! and another week goes by.  Started the week off with a visit from my podiatry man mark who came quite early on. As soon as Jessie hears the vacuum cleaner she disappears upstairs to go under jane's bed.  As soon as he is gone Vin generally goes upstairs he was going anyway to change a lightbulb, and says Ok you can come down now, and lo and behold a bit later on she does!! nHer little friend from next door Jack is outside again. In our back garden, Vin says he has another tactic now, he hides right under the window so vin opens the door and then he appears! Clever beggars aren't they?

Not planning to go anywhere this week, just the same old same old. Vin will probably go to Tesco on Wednesday which seems to be the quietest day for shopping.  He went to Sainsbury's yesterday and said it was a lot quieter again, like it was well before Christmas. That is all gone now, All the decorations are put away till later on in the year again. I do miss my little ceramic snowman which Jane bought me for christmas some years ago and it takes a tealight which lights up his little body. lovely. Rooms look ver bare now without them, maybe put them up a bit  earlier this year, but we say that every year and rarely do in the end. usually round about the same time.

Jane had her jab on Saturday, she had to go back to the hospital at 6.0'clock, but she is on nights all this week so wouldn't have had time otherwise. so glad she has ghad that done.

Ready for doing a runner!

Out In The Lockdown!

Well it was allowed, it was for a blood test at Aintree as wanted by the Doctor whose appointment we cancelled yesterday. Seems he thought that a blood test was necessary so went for that yesterday morning. A bit of waiting but it was quite quick in the end and we were in and out in half an hour so no parking which was good. In times gone by we would have gone to the Costa for a coffee but that has gone by the board since they are all closed now. Shame for the staff and the owners they must have had a terrible time this year.

Vin spent the afternoon taking down the rest of the decorations so they have all gone now and the room looks quite bare again. He just has to fit everything in the cupboard over our wardrobes now which is quite a job since it goes in like a jigsaw each in a careful place till the end of this year. Christmas came and went very quickly in the end and it was lovely to have our Jane home for the festive period.  Good news from her last night she said she had an email about getting the vaccine, so she went online and is going on Saturday at 6o'clock. That is a load off our minds and hers I'm sure.

Crowds of protestors outside the Capital  building in Washington last night making a protest about the appointment of Joe Briden as their newpresident. Four people died last night too, one was shot and three died of medical conditions. Doesn't look good for the American idea of democracy.

Vin has gone off to Tesco this morning to get our weekly shop. he says he is not going to do any browsing, he is going round as quickly as possible and then come home. Expect him home for his coffee fairly soon. In fact he has just rung up to say he is on his way back.

Jessie has not bothered with the decorations, she still does her own things.Bless her.

 Posing for the camera!

All Down!

Down with the decorations today, Vin is presently getting the suitcase down from the cupboard which is a feat in itself. Lots of bits and pieces to take down three trees to begin with and the little decorations to be put nto their little boxes. A bit time consuming but worth it in the end. Haven't bought any new ones for years now they are all from years ago and well loved ones. Trouble with taking them down is that the room looks so bare afterwards but you get used to it in the end.

Mostly the news at the moment is that there is another Lockdown number three but this time more severe. Nobody out except for shopping for essentials, or food, no trips except for vaccinations or work if you cannot work from home, or for medical reasons. It is back in the old routine really. I was supposed to go to Aintree tomorrow for an appointment but Vin rang up to cancel it, they rang up this morning to say that they wanted a blood test so have to go tomorrow for that, at least it isn't an early start which the appointment would have been. Do that tomorrow then.

Vin has been down with the bin for tomorrow and he said little Jacky boy from next door was following him, he had to feed him biscuits to make him go! Not soft that cat, I am sure he is getting food from both houses! He is lovely all bushy and ginger and white. He can't come in because  our Jessie doesn't take to cats , no other cats to be with her Daddy but her!

Jack with Jessie's daddy, but she doesn't know and is blissfully asleep in the middle room.

Her new toy, not entirely sure she knows what to do with it but she will have a go when it is jiggled for her.

Back In The Old Routine!

Monday morning and the weather is fairly clear but it is cold. Heaaters on everywhere, background stuff to keep the rooms warm . Monday morning and it is al back to normal. Well as near to normal as it can be  under the circumstances really. There are vaccines available and there seems to be problems about just who should be getting their jabs first. To my way of thinking the health service workers should get theirs first including care workers, then the general public as and when. It is a massive undertaking to try and get everyone done and a huge task. Whatever the government do they cannot do right for doing wrong. Just a matter of being patient really.

No intention of going out till it is safer, there are still people flouting the rules, like some hiring a mini bus to take a party of 15 for a walk up Snowdon in Wales! Really! morons.  I had an appointment at Aintree on Wednesday morning as a follow up to one I had last year but have just rung up to cancel that. The Covid numbers are still high and we don't feel comfortable about going there while there are still problems. No worries there apparently might get a phone call on the day but not holing my breath.

Our Jessieis not bothered by anything at all. She was up early this morning waking her Daddy up for feeding, so she is leading her happy life as normal. Not bothered by the decorations which will be coming down tomorrow and wednesday. It is often a bit quicker taking them down but tiring for Vin who does the running up and down stairs putting them away. Sad when they all go down because the house looks very plain again, (apart from the clutter that is!)

Christmas table 2020. All Vin's own work, what a job he did. Lovely meal and beautifuly cooked. Little Miss Jessie on her Best blanky!

2121!

It is indeed the second of the first twenty twenty one. I like dates like that,  and a Happier New Year to one and All! Not been the most pleasant of years last year but we can only look forward to maybe some relief when the jabs come around. That i suspect will be a long time off yet though. Even our Jane hasn't had one yet and she is on the very frontline of it all.

We have had some bits of snow here this week, not a great deal and not sticking, just enough to make everywhere look quite pretty, and go on the cars a bit but soon melted, and now it is bright but cold. Not a bad blue sky this morning.

Christmas is all over bar the shouting now and all the holidays have been and gone, just  the decorations to be taken down by the 6th which is next Wednesday, so they will be done in bits and bobs. Trees put away for another year. Jessie doesn't bother with the tree decorations unlike some of the other cats we have had. little Rusty would have a lovely time knocking the baubles off the tree and chasing them along the hall.! Great fun she had.

She prefers posing for the camera. proper little model!!
