Another Scorcher !

Another very warm day today. Thankfully last night it seemed to cool down quite a bit so we both got a good night's sleep. Makes a difference when you aren't boiling hot and tossing and turning.
Since we have had quite a busy  week this week we stopped in tday. Vin wanted to go through his papers and sort stuff out and I was upstairs on the computer. Which, I might add is fairly slow today, Vin said his netbook was too so there is something going on somewhere.  Not a lot going online so I wonder if everyone is just stopping in out of the heat.  Certainly too hot to be in the garden where it is absolutely blazing !
Little Jessie was  out in the garden this morning while it was still fairly normal, and Vin said she finds nice little places to shelter under Bless her ! The front rom seems to be a very favourite spot at the moment, it is nice and shaded in there and quiet as well, the only noise is the traffic going past which isn't too bad anyway.
Look at that little face! She is a very pretty cat. No cream cake today though, sorry Jessie !

What a Relief!

Monday was the Diabetic clinic, went very well absolutely no problems at all . That was good.  Tuesday was a free day which was good because it is so hot at the moment you don't want to go anywhere. Yesterday it was the weekly visit to the podiatry clinic all good on that front too, foot redressed and the other one which is in shoe and slipper is doing fine so that was great.
Today was a visit to the dentist. I have had a loose tooth at the back left of my mouth which has been niggling away for months and months. kept putting it off and off  until it was getting really bad, so went and made an appointment with the dentist for a look see. That was today and when he saw it he decided it had to come out. I wasn't complaining about  that. The worst thing was the injections actually, the tooth came out very easily, must have been hanging in there. Bye bye tooth !
Really scorching today again. Last night was terrible so uncomfortable really warm you couldn't get cool at all. Even with both windows open there was no breeze to cool the air.  Much the same today I don't think it is quite so blazing but still very warm indeed. Probably in for another warm night tonight.
Little Jessie has mostly been in the front room while it is hot.  Vin said she was out for a bit this morning but is now in the front room.  He says she doesn't like noises so anyone mowing a lawn  would send her flying in.  Even birds squawking verhead would frighten her. Aaah!
Little prowl in the sunshine !

Phew!

Day off today, nothing to do and nowhere to go either. Nice for a change.
Very very hot today, in fact the paper this morning says it is hotter than Africa! hard to believe, must be true if the papers say so!
Little Jessie has been most of the day in the front room which is cooler being in the shade, the back of the house is scorching getting the sun from late morning all afternoon then.  Vin says it is too hot to go outside. I am presently  in the middle room upstairs which is really warm, but the blind is very gently blowing so there must be a little bit of a breeze. Trouble is that when a window is open flies get in and they drive vin mad, he cannot rest till it has gone or been squashed. One came in here this morning while he was up here and it took an age to get out of the window. Pesky things.
Don't think little Jessie has been out this afternon, but he says she was out this morning for about twenty minutes. She is a good girl and only stayed in the garden, never strays away from the house. Aaah!
Don't think she wuld go out there this afternoon, Vin has just come in and said it is too hot.!

N.H.S. !

It was a N.H.S. sort of day today.  Started off with an appointment at Aintree in the Diabetic clinic at one o'clock. Funny going there today because it is where the podiatry clinic is also . Since I go there we are used to seeing people waiting in the other area to be called to the various sections, but that was us today!. We got there on time and I had a word with Laura who is more used to me signing in for the podiatry. Sat down and waited for Vin who came back really quickly, parked on the second level. Called in  to get my weight done, blood pressure sample given and then through for a blood test. All done. Sit in the waiting area again and we were called in by Dr Allen who we saw a year ago today. She was very pleased with the results so far, and everything seems to be steady. I think normally they would have discharged me but she said that with the other things going on they would still keep me on and see me in another year.  So I said Happy Christmas and off we went.
We were wending our way home and going via the garden centre over the way, Vin had his card for two free coffees so we went there for those. Lovely little cups of Illy coffee, only small and just right.  Sat there for a while but wouldn't sit in the same places again they were really hard, like sitting against a ruler !
Home for around ten to four so we did very well. Went via the dentist's too because I have a loose back tooth which has been a bother for months and months but I have been putting it off. So I went in to make an appointment to get that done and it is ten to  twelve on thursday. We have got an appointment on Wednesday for podiatry so it is a bit of a N.H.S. week this one.
Little Jessie greeted her daddy with a lovely set of miaows when we got home. It's great the way she does that, no doubt she wanted food but it was still lovely.
Following Daddy. !

Yesterday's Post !

Today, Saturday for a change.  Reason is that by the time we got back from Aintree and had a bit of lunch neither of us felt like moving so we didn't. It is the getting up early that does it, we ain't used to it!
It was a ten o'clock appointment at Aintree so it was an early get up to begin with, got there on time and then waited for about forty minutes before going in with Jo. It was a day to see the Dr., and also to take my orthoepaedic shoes to make sure that they fit correctly. There was a trainee orthotist in the room with us to start with, very fit he was too! Jo, and a Doctor who arranged for an x=ray to make sure everything is going well. Room was packed for a time, so many people looking at my little tootsies. Finally left there with my left shoe re-instated and a podiatry shoe on the other. Off to x-ray then home again. We did go via the Costa coffee shop in the retail park first though where Vin had a nice coconut latte and I had a flat white.  Really nice they were too.
Then home. Bit of lunch and Vin had a nice doze in the afternoon which he needed after getting up early with the cat!
Watched the final of Countdown which was one of the best we have seen in years, and the right one won a lad called Zarte, the first winner in a wheelchair I should think. Well done Zarte.
Little Jessie had not moved I don't think from when we left the house till when we came home again. She clearly had a nice little nap without being disturbed.
Home again with my Daddy !

In Again!

Sorry Vin, you must be getting bored by now. Should have married some nice blonde bit !  Since we are out tomorrow at ten o'clock it will be an early start, but hopefully, fingers crossed we will get done quickly aqnd then get a nice coffee afterwards.  Trouble is you can never tell when you go there to the podiatry Aintree. Sometimes  you go there and are seen really quickly, but the last time we had an early appointment  we had to wait for an absolute age so by the time we got in it was too late to go anywhere. We ended up coming home for our lunch, so we shall wait and see.
Weather a bit changeable today now very nice and sunny, and Jane has just rung and said it was quite hot there.  Jessie was out this morning, for a short time, Vin says she gets spooked easily. So runs inside quickly !
Is it safe or will I get attacked ?

Gobby!

A changeable day today. Started off quite blowy and overcast but it cleared up as the morning went on. Now as I type this it is really sunny outside and Vin has just gone round pulling blinds down. You just never know where you are these days.
I have had a bit of a sore mouth for the last few days, no idea why just appeared. like little ulcers on my tongue and my lips. Quite painful, especially when you have a hot drink.  Vin went over the road to the ever helpful pharmacist and she suggested a type of mouthwash  which coats the mouth and makes it better hopefully. So far I have  had two doses and it does feel a bit easier.
Little Jessie has been knocked out! No not literally, Vin took his socks off and she flopped down and fell over. Really made us laugh!
The new drug ! Daddy's socks !
