There is a little man sitting on my shoulder saying "watch those toes" everywhere I go. He is so careful with them, you'd think they were on the end of his foot. Bless him.
We are in today, Vin was out in fits and starts yesterday with his car and getting that sorted, so in today as usual. Maybe out tomorrow for a free coffee if everything goes well. We have vouchers from the free paper and one in a leaflet so may as well use them. It will be nice to see what they have done with the Costa in Tesco also. Vin says we could have a bit of a look round too, they have the Christmas things out apparently.
He has done the bedding today, and turned the mattress over as well, busy boy! Got quite a lot of things on the line, the weather today is quite sunny and he says it is a bit breezy too so might be a good drying day as well.
Little Jessie is round and about, she foes on his lap for a stroke quite often, he said she came up twice this morning to get him up. The first time it didn't work and he turned over, then the second time worked and he got up to feed her. She is a very insistent little puss, and doesn't give up easily.
Who can't resist this little face looking at you first thing in the morning?
Vin can't for one.

Car Works!
He started this morning early by getting up, feeding the cat and then taking himself off to Crosby to get his car serviced. He had originally gone to see about the back window wiper sorted but the bloke said it was probably the wiring so he decided to get it serviced at the same time.
He drove there of course, and left the car, wasn't sure about getting the bus or the train back, in the end the train won. He was back before I knew it actually, I was amazed when he appeared upstairs with our coffees as usual. Plus the papers, he has been a busy boy.
Morning doing our normal things and mid- lunchtime he got a call from the garage to say his car was ready and since the little bus was over the road waiting he went over to get that. The advantage of that is that it drops you off outsside the garage. He was back within the hour, good going eh! As I was waiting for him Jane rang up, she was off to Tesco to get some snacks and drinks to keep her going. In the middle of chatting to her Vin returned so he was really quick.Pleased as Punch because the car was all done, sorted, serviced and washed and vacuumed also. Two year's worth of muck inside which is good. He said he was going to give it a vacuum as well so that saved a big job!
Little Jessie has been largely oblivious to everything going on this morning. He did say she greeted him at the door when he got back this morning though Aaaah! Probably worried about where he had gone.
Where oh where has my Daddy gone???

Tootsie Traumas!
Not quite trauma, but tootsie treatment though. Friday was the day I had to go to Aintree for my toes to be wired and bones removed to straighten them up. We had to be there for 7.30 which was a bit of a killer for us but we made it. The nice thing about that was that there were plenty of parking spaces in the car park. Waited when we got there and eventually we saw different people, one nurse who took the history and asked all the questions, then another who did a blood test, the anaesthetist who asked the questions about allergies amongst others , she was a lovely young woman and really pleasant. Then saw Mr Butcher who was doing the op., he explained what he was doing again, and drew a lovely tree on my leg with leaves and berries and an arrow running through it! Also two arrows pointing to the toes he was doing. Bit of a sense of humour thing going on there.
Lastly the nurse who took me into a room to get ready, all undressed and just with the gown and dressing gown. Went down at about ten fifteen and don't really remember much till waking up in the recovery. Fairly quickly off to the next stage recovery and in time given some very welcome coffee and toast. Hospital toast is always lovely for some reason.
Vin picked me up late afternoon, nice to get home again. Quiet weekend and not going out today either.
Vin is off to get his car serviced tomorrow, so today he spent some time getting the back boot cleared of grime, caused by about two years of leaf dropping etc., terrible parking under the sycamore trees.
Little Jessie just went her usual way, doing what she always does, she has been out a bit today enjoying a bit of sunshine.
The best seat in the house according to Jessie.

Wash and Brush Up !
Nice wash and brush up all round today for us. I had a lovely hot shower and hair wash this morning and Vin has had one this afternoon. It is all a bit of a faff for me, with having to put the Limbo thingy on and shuffling round on that. Was lovely though, used my last Linco Beer shampoo which I have had for years. I loved that shampoo and used it for ever, but then disaster struck and they stopped making it, and you cannot buy it anymore unfortunately.
It is still blowy a bit outside but not as bad as yesterday. There is rain with it today and it is quite dark in the house which means that the lights are on everywhere. Quite a good thing really since we will have to get to bed early tonight. Probably about by ten at least if not before that because we are up at six in the morning. That is the bit I am looking forward to least actually.
Jessie has been quite quiet today, but around and about. Mostly asleep somewhere, often in her basket but then she suddenly gets down and flops on the floor. Strange little cat !
Waiting for her food ! Vin said he went down to feed her this morning, put the biscuits and cat food down for her then filled the kettle. She still sat there, looking up at him, and he said to her that's your breakfast, then she got down to eating it! What a madam!!

A Bit Blowy!
A bit blowy indeed to say the least. It seems storm Ali is with us for the time being. We heard on the radio that some poor woman had been blown off a cliff at Galway, a terrible way to go. A too.
We went to Dobbies this morning for our coffees for the month, it is always a blowy spot at the best of times but today you had to be careful Vin nearly got blown over going across for the wheels.
We had a bit of a mooch round first, they are in the middle of putting the Christmas things out already. It must be awful working in a shop, Christmas stuff from September! but they all do it. It's a wonder they don't have the Christmas trees out at the front by now. We just bought some cakes for keeping and some shortbread biscuits that were on offer, and that was it really today. Nothing else caught our eyes yet, and it is too early to be buying stuff for Christmas yet.
We then went for our coffees and it was quite quiet today, probably the weather keeping people away. Vin had a latte with a flavour and I had a flat white which are really nice from there and not too big.
Home for lunch which is yogit and crips!
Jessie did not move from her basket. I love the way she rushes to the front door when we come in! More like she flops down in the doorway to trip you up, me anyway!
I've woken up now, ready for my cream cake!!

In Again!
Certainly in again today but will probably go out tomorrow. We were supposed to be expecting storm Helene today with warnngs of gale force winds but nothing has happened as yet. Just a light breeze really if anything.
Vin went out to give his car a bit of a wash and brush up because at this time of the year there tends to be a lot of tree sap which is horrible, really sticky and gets everywhere. It is going in for a service next Tuesday so he wanted it looking tidier than it is. At least the sun is shining now so it will dry off beautifully.
Jessie seems to be grumpier than usual today, she was beside him in her basket having a sleep this lunchtime and he raised his hand a bit accidentally, and she went to scratch him. Then she jumped down and he went to stroke her and she was really grumpy, tail was going and her eyes staring at him. He said give her a stroke does he think I am stupid !! Stroke her while she is in that mood? No way Hose. As they say.
Loo0ks like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth! Don't you believe it!!

Mondays !!
Usual things going on here today, a very normal Monday!
It started off quite cool this morning looked like rain, but it has suddenly warmed up and is quite sunny now. There are weather warnings for strong winds, but there are no signs yet.
Nothing going on much here this week either, apart of course from my toe operation on Friday. The worst thing about that is that I have to be at Aintree at seven thirty in the morning which is a killer for us. I for one am terrible at getting up in the morning, especially now I don't have to get up for work !
Jessie was out for a bit this morning while we had our breakfast, and when I came into the middle room to use the computer, there she was sitting outside the back door. I shouted through the window "go on, you can go through the cat flap" she just sat there gazing at me, while her Daddy ran downstairs to let her in. The moment he opened the back door she ran in. What a minx!!
On the prowl, and on her way to see her Daddy and get her cream cake.!
