Quiet Today!

Pretty much quiet today with not a lot going on. Vin has rung the chimney sweep and made an appointment for the beginning of November, and I have just rung the hairdressers down the road and made an appointment for a cut and blow on Monday at 12O'clock with Beverleey. That will be good because it is like straw and wild mint at the moment, so a good tidy up is needed.
Our Jane has returned to Manchester after Vin dyed her hair for her, it is so thick I wish I could transplant some of it. She needs a haircut too but it is getting the time.
The big news at the moment is the General Election,!! God knows who we will vote for this time. certainly could never vote for Jeremy Corbyn and his shouty mob, it will be on Dec 12th so the pundits are saying there will be a poor turn out because of the dark nights and the weather etc., We shall see. I am with Brenda of Bristol, "Not another one!!"
Jessie has settled back into normallity now and is doing things as she always did. I think she really got on well with Jane when she was home, and let hwer pick her up and carry her around too.
On the prowl!

Nice Weekend!

Very early on Saturday morning we got a phone call from our Jane who rang to say she was on the train on her way home. Unexpected because I thought she had changed her mind because she was doing a night shift on Thursday for one of her colloeagues. She arrived mid morning  the  trains being on time. Spent a lot of the weekend asleep  catching up after her night shifts understandably, they must be very tiring.  Tiger crust pizzas proved the favourite over this weekend with her eating ne every night!  She certainly bonded with Jessie too and the cat actually spent some of its time under her bed sleeping. She really likes Jane and lets her pick her up and carry her around without struggling either.
She had her hair done yesterday dyed that is so at least she is going back with nice dark hair again. Gone back this morning quite early because she didn't want to go back in the dark very sensibly, and intends to get herself a burrito from Manchester for her main dinner.
Apart from that excitement it has been a normal weekend really, not a lot happening. Quite nice weather, blue skies today anyway, and touches of frost in the mornings n Vins's shed roof. Not having a fire yet though not quite cold enough but I don't think it will be long.  Vin did take an unfinished log cabin patchwork quilt to a lady in Formby yesterday though. I had mostly finished it but my eyesight now means that I cannot really see the sewing any more so he had spotted the name of a lady who did alterations etc., so he got in touch and took it yesterday. That will be nice to have done, it had been in the airing cupboard for years just not quite completed so if she can do that it willo be great.
Jessie is now back to normal and is asleep on her blanket on Vins sofa.
Back to normal and waiting for my cream cake. All better now after her bladder infection which really knocked her out.

Very Wet Today!

What a good job Vin did his shed a few days ago because the weather has been dodgy since then, He went down to try and wash the woodwork down yeaterday and the Heavens opened, he said he didn't get wet because he was moving around!!! Steady rain this morminmg though so it is another nice coffee in for us today. Lovely!
The news is full of "Brexit" still, now there is another talk of a general election on the 12th of December. Nice Christmas present. Not!  Don't see the point myself, they can't agree anyway and i do not see that another election is going to make any difference. They all argue for the sake of it anyway.
The other news is the discovery of 39 bodies in the back of a container lorry down South. Apparently they are all Chinese, 31 men and 8 w3omen. Goodness knows how much they paid to come here but you do wonder why they bother, sad as it is for their families.
Jessie appears to have fully recoveresd now and is back to normal after her bladder infection. Thank goodness for that, it is really worrying when they are ill and they can't tell you what is wrong. She is now eating and drinking as normal and playing with her Daddy and sitting on his knee. no longer hiding under Jane's bed but does go on top off it when her daddy is in there on the computer.
Waiting for her food to be delivered!

Coffee Out!

off out yesterday to Dobbies for our coffees for the month.and very nice too. It was a nice day as well for a change and no delays on the roads so wwe got there in good time for a look round. Spotted a few things we wanted to buy and noted them for later.  It was very Christmassy in there with all the trees and decorations out. Didn't spot much in the way of Halloween stuff though maybe not as important these days.
Went for our coffees after a bit, I had a very nice flat white, and Vin had a latte and put his flavourin g in it, and hush.. we took our own biscuits. Well we do have a big box of the ones that they sell upstairs in the house so it would be silly to buy them at one pound per packet!!
Little Jessie is right back to normalnow, eating and drinking asnormal thank goodness. It too the best part of a week all told, and she spent a lot of the week under Jane's bed hiding, just coming out for the odd drink of water and that was about it. So glad she is better, it is very worrying when they are ill, and it was a nasty do.
Nice and normal again. She even came down to greet us when we came back frm Dobbies yesterday.which was nice.

Waiting!

In today waiting for a delivery, did get a letter from QVC with a refund cheque for £43.10p apparently for the refund of postage on returned items. Nice surprise.
Our Jessie is definitelylooking better, she came down last night and Vin said she actually showed some interest in her food which she hasn't done for the last week or so. It has taken about a week for her to recover, it must have been quite an infectin poor little thing. Vin is a lot happier with her now.
We got a parcel from John and Ann yesterday with a present for Vin for his birthday, it was delayed because it had been stuck in someone's car apparently. nice letter to go with, telling all their gossip. Vin reads them out to me because the writing is so small I have no chance of reading it.
Nice day today and vin has totally finished his shed, he did the last bit of nailing yesterday, it was just the bit at the back that was awkward to get at.  Al tight and waterproof now and a really good job done. Well done!
I wonder if she will come down for a bit of cream cake today?

On The Mend!

She spent most of the day in the middle room upstairs yesterday, out of the way I suppose and nice and quiet.  She came down last night and sat in our room and then jumped up on her daddy's lap for a stroke and a cuddle. Just the same as normal.
This morning he said she was asleep on her blaket in the middle room, and ate some of her food so it looks like she is on the mend. Been a week, but vin went online and found that is quite normal for an infectionofthat type. Which is about right, it was last monday he took her to the vets.
His shed was done on Saturday, the best day of the week weather wise. Almost finished except for the few nais in the back part thaat he couldn't reach, but he says he will tack them in sideways so that will be fixed. Poured down on Sunday so he was out checking it and it is really fine. Well done Mr Fixit!
Jane has been on nights for the last three nights and she said Saturday night was terrible, well over a hndred people in the A&E  and trollies in corridors. Hope last night was better for her.
Appointment on Friday this week so no rush anywhere, a delivery tomorrow so might go somewhere on Wednesday. That  is the week really. Unless something crops up!
Can we tempt you? Maybe a little bit.

Jessie's progress!

Jessie has been  under the weather most of the week really.hiding away under the bed in Jane's room for a lot of the time, just coming down for a drink and a wee ocasionally. Vin haslooked up her tablets online and apparently they van make a cat drowsy, so maybe that is it. She is certainly not herself anyway, not yet.
yesterday it started out nice and sunny so Vin attempted to begin the shed reroofing, then it started to rain so he came in and gave up. This morning it started out very grey and overcast and was raining, now it is bright and sunny with a lovely blue sky.! You don't know where you are really. He has gone to Tesco's to do the Saturday shopping so he can have tomorrow free, he has just rung up to say that half of our road is in Tesco, and he is off to homebase to buy a blind for the extension window, it is a blackout blind so should be better in the bright sun. We could do with one in the middle room as well really because it is very bright in the afternoon, but we shall have to see what the one in the kitchen is like.
Not here at the moment but under the bed all curled up and out of the way. Funny little creatures aren't they!

Our Jessie!

The visit to the vets on Monday afternoon solved the mystery of why she was wobbly and under the weather. Vin took her to the Vilage Vets in Crosby which he was very impressed with and  the vet he saw said it looked like a bladder infection. She had to stay in t be sedated and have a catheter inserted to drain it, and he could collect her later in the evening which he did at six o'clock or thereabouts. She was really wobbly when she came home and slept a lot. as she did yesterday. Not interested in food much but did have a tiny nibble at some.  Last night she disappeared into the front room we thought so we went off upstairs to get ready for bed and then he came in to say he couldn't find her!! Turns out she was in Jane's room under the bed tucked away in a corner. He left her undisturbed.
This morning he got up at six to go and see if she is alright and gave her the tablets that were prescribed. two twice a day and a squirt of painkiller once a day too. Coffee time this morning he came to say she had had a big wee! punching the air as he told me. He said she was a lot perkier, glad of that, you do worry when your cat is not well. Poor little thing.
Weather is very unpredictable today, certainly not shed repairing weather. One minute lashing down with rain the next it is brighter, you just don't know where you are. At the moment it is really sunny but when I came in here to do this the rain was lashing down. British weather!
Thankyou for looking after me daddy!

Poor Jessie!

Vin came up with our usual morning coffee this morning and said there is something wrong with Jessie, he said she didn't greet him as normal and when she jumped down she was limping very badly. Didn't want her food which is extremely unusual for her, and just flopped down in the alcove by the kitchen.  She did hobble to the litter tray and used that which is a good sign I suppose,  but he carried her upstairs to  the bedroom and after a bit she went to jump down. She was definitely limping badly, I thought on her back right leg.
He has rung the village vets in Formby and could have had an appointment at five this afternoon, or they have a new branch in Crosby over the Peacocks shop who could see her at two thirty so he has gone for that. We shall see what is wrong then I hope. Hopefully it is something not too serious. Poor little thing, you worry when there is something wrong with them.
Normal Monday otherwise, don't think he will do anything to the shed today, firstly because of Jessie and secondly because the weather is looking very overcast and might rain which you do not want. Not blowy or rainy just dull.
Poor Jessie. Vin has just been getting the cat basket out of the shed, it's been a while since we used that, he said little jack from next door was trying to get in but Vin had told him you can't come in today Jack.! Don't want him disturbing Jessie today.

Little Visitor!

Just sitting here at the computer browsing as you do and I heard Vin say Hello! and a little ginger and white pussy cat appeared round the corner. It was Jack from next door, he came straight to my hand for a nuzzle. Lovely catty, very friendly. We haven't seen much of his sister but she is apparently very shy, she has been in the garden but runs off quite quickly.  Jack is certainly growing bigger now and he has the bushiest tail I have ever seen. Jealous! not of his tail but that he is so friendly. He is presently exploring the terrain under Jane's bed God knows what he will find under there!!
Vin has been tidying up the airing cupboard which was stuffed withthingswe haven't used for years! Some forthe recycling, somefor the charity shopand some for the animal rescue.  It looks lovely and clear now and space for the bedding wwe do use. Great job Vin.
He also has bought newroofing felt for the top of the shed roof which is perished. Got it yesterday in Formby when it was a lovely day. Today it is overcast and looks like rain and forecast for stormy weaather. Wouldn't you know it. That is on hold for a bit, but he does have everything ready.
Jessie had a run in with Jack but I think they were alright.
Watch it Jack, the cream cake is all mine!
