Fair or Wet!

Woke up this morning to a grey and drizzly morning, and that seemed to be set for the day. Then later on in the day towards lunchtime the sky brightened up and the sun came up and it is lovely now.  Vin has been looking at barrels online and found a site in Shropshire that sells them, so if we cannot get another replacement one anywhere else ina  garden centre that would be a last resort.
We have been inundated with those really annoying phone calls supposedly from TalkTalk telling us that our internet will be cut off, either that or you pick the phone up and there is just a silence then a beep at the other end. We had five this morning all in the space of a short time. Different numbers too so hard to stop.
We have had a nice normal day otherwise, because we are out at Aintree tomorrow at the nephrology clinic but that is a 3.30 appointment so at least we haven't got an early rise, hate those. One delivery today quite early with the Royal Mail parcel force so that is over and done with, that was Bullens so next one is next month.
Jessie is up and down as normal, Vin said she came up to get him this morning, he woke up to hear miaowing by the side of the bed so he had to get up and feed her, she is quite demanding in that way.
Now in her basket looking like this, waiting for her cream cake, but there isn't much left but I think that her daddy might find her a bit of creme fraiche somewhere!

Day In !

Since we were out yesterday we are in today and tomorrow too because a delivery is expected. Bit drizzly and overcast this morning so Vin has been looking into the home insurance which is a minefield. So many clauses and conditions and firms offering different types.  He is narrowing down and is awaiting emails from some of them in order to make a decision.
Vin has met the little kittens from next door , she has only had them for a few days and he said they are tiny. One is gingery and the other similar with some white markings, they are called Maisie and Teddy so clearly brother and sister. Lovely names. He said one was asleep on the back of the sofa on a nice fluffy blanket and the other was going past it, the one on the sofa raised its head , lifted a paw and then went back to sleep again.  I think he is smitten! Wonder how long it will be before she asks him to look after them? He says he won't but I bet he will!!
Our Jessie has spent the day as usual in her basket mostly going out for a very short while because it was drizzly. Then she sat on the step waiting for the door to be opened!
Waiting patiently, and cream cake in a few minutes!

Tootsies Again !

Early start this morning because my appointment was at the podiatry clinic for eleven o'clock. So to allow time to do everything and leave on time it is an early rise. Everything went well and the traffic was really light so we got there well on time, a bit early in fact. Didn't wait long and was called in by Annie whowe haven't seen for ages, we have been having Cathy quite a bit lately. The plan was to go there and then go for a Costa  afterwards.
However when we had eventually finished in podiatry the time was a bit too early for our coffee so Vin suggested that we go to the one in Formby, he could get a couple of things and also get his car wash. He was going to get one on Saturday but there were just too many cars waiting for the same so he came home instead. So that is what we did,, the Costa was really quiet actually so it was a good choice. He had a salted caramel latte and I had a flat white as I often do. He left me looking at a copy of the OK magazine with the last of my coffee  while he went round and got his few bits, that magazine is just full of celebrities, most of whom I have never heard of, their marriages, engagements and their babies. Not very interesting actually. Nicve pictures though.
We then went for his car wash, made a great job of getting all the bits off the car. Looks lovely and clean now.
Little Jessie was at  the door when we got home miaowing like mad, I would like to think that it was a greeting but I think it was more that she was hungry!
Waiting patiently, not for long, her daddy feeds her very quickly. It's cream cake time soon too!

Another Bank Holiday!

Another Bank Holiday of the year, the last one till August. Not a brilliant day weatherwise, but not raining yet anyway. We stayed in today because we arwe out tomorrow, and we don't tend to go out on a Bank Holiday anyway. Somehow I don't think there will be the crowds going to the beaches today somehow because it is a bit cool.
Vin did a load of washing which he has put on the line keeping one eye out for the weather in case it rains. Jane rang up at lunchtime to say that her car had got through the MOT A few advisories but not a lot to worry about, things that can be fixed in her time. She had a friend from work to drive it to the garage for her and they went off for some food while it was being done. Off to McDonalds as usual. Wonder why?  Vin had a look online before she had rung up, so he already had the good news and knew what the advisories were. All good till June next year now.
Jessie has been up and down as usual, mostly in the front rom this morning. She seems to like it in there nice and quiet, she appeared at lunchtime jsut comes in the middle room and sits there looking at us. Lovely the way she does that.  Then she went outside for a bit and sits there waiting for her daddy to let her in, which of course he does.
Her favourite spot, especially when he has a plate with some cream on it!

Not Another One!

When I first began this blog it happened to be the first day of Gordon Brown as the new Prime Minister, now on the 24th of may we have the resignation of Theresa May as the PM., so we will be having another leader by July. Much speculation about who is going to be doing that job. Good luck to whoever that is anyway.  They will need to be strong to stand up to Corbyn, who must be blessing today.
Again today we are in, because we were out for two days and again next week for two appointments, so Vin has been catching up on the gardening. It is the green bin on Monday so he is trying to get the barrel emptied so he can get a another one . The one that is presently there is rotten now, but we have had it for a number of years. Doesn't owe us anythibng as they say.
Quite cloudy today after the nice warm weather yesterday. The forecast is for rain over the weekend which is typical Bank Holiday weather really. But we shall see!
Jessie has been in her basket as usual mostly today, but did go out this morning when we were having our coffee. After a bit he looks out of the window and she is waiting for him to let her in. He gets up and flies through the kitchen to open the door for her to come in. Talk about Diva.
Can I come in now?  No cream cake today either, what will I get?

Two Days Off!

Today, Thursday we are in after two days of keeping appointments. Tuesday was a routine podiatry appointment it was planned for the afternoon, so we went for the nephrology blood test first. This is in another building so needed a bit of thinking about parking etc but the clever Vin got that organised. Got the test done quickly then went off to the podiatry. We unfortunately had quite a long wait there but that is fairly unusual for them. It was a doctors visit one which tends to make themlonger. Nothing new going on, and just keep on with the antibiotics and dressings etc.,  Home quite late after all of that, so stayed downstairs, while we had a bit of lunch and our coffee and cake. Evening as normal.
Wednesday was centered around an appointment again at Aintree for an MRI scan on the left foot with contrast. This was at one o'clock but had been changed from a quarter to two. Vin parked outside in front while he went off to look for some wheels for me. He was gone ages but I knew there is always a problem finding them so waited. When he came back he said he eventually spotted a lady in one witing for her daughter to pick her up so he waited with her. She had some trouble getting into the car so he had to help out. Anyway he arrived back at our car and off we went for scanning, filled out the usual form and the radiographer took me in for the scan.  She took the form and went into her office, then returnedto do the scan. Iasked if they were doing the contrast but she said no, my kidney function was too low. Ohwell, go with the flow! Scan done, and off we went home. Lunch a bit later and a breather for poor Vin who had been juggling parking all day. Thankyou Vin, good job done!
Today we are in, voting day for the European elections, not that they mean very much at all, Vin went round to the hall and did ours, both Brexit party as a protest. Rebels we are.
Little Jessie is pretty oblivious to all of that, as long as she has her food and biscuits and her sprinkles she is well happy. And her daddy of course.
Got my sprinkles I'm all right. Cream cake soon.

Gardening!

Seems everyone is out in their gardens today. It is a lovely sunny day so not surprising really. Vin did our front garden this morning trying to get the barrel clear. He has lifted the daffodil bulbs any way, in the hope of emptying it sometime soon. We need a new one actually because the present one is rotten and the band around the middle has rusted away.  We had a letter int he post this morning with a cheque for £25 for winning a competition in the Chat magazine so will use that for buying another one. Good timing.
We were in today because we are out tomorrow and Wednesday. Tomorrow is a podiatry appointment at Aintree in the afternoon, and Wednesday is an MRI scan of the foot also at Aintree. Pity they don't have a conveyor belt that they put you on and you could get everything done at once.!
Jessie has been in and out today, in the front room for a bit  in the quiet, and also out in the garden at the back in the sunshine at lunchtime. She seems to like a bit of a sunbathe on the flags, then gets up and waits by the back door, and of course her Daddy rushes to let her in. What a little Diva!
Nice cream cake today too! He managed to get one in sainsbury's yesterday so she should get her creamy fix k today!

Friday 17 May 2019

Cars!

Stayed in today, because the main thing today was that Vin was getting the MOT done on his car. That was booked in for two o'clock so he spent the morning checking the car and getting it sorted.
We had our normal morning coffee and then he went off at lunchtime. He planned to get there early which was good because he said they took it straight in. Then he went off to Tesco for  a bit of a mooch and to fill in a bit of time to wait for it to be done. He did a little bit of shopping and then collected the car. It had passed! no advisories, just needed a replacement brake light which they did. So he is well pleased and that is done for another year.. He has had the car for five years come June so Jane must have had hers for the same length of time because they got them within a day of each other. Doesn't time fly?
I did a bit of browsing on the computer while looking at bits and bobs, but not a lot dfoing at the moment. Most of the discussions on the radio centred around the Eurovision  which is tomorrow and the fact that Theresa May has said she is going in the summer  so who is going to be the next leader. Pity help whoever it is because they will have a job on their hands.
Haven't seen Jessie so far, she never comes up to see me in the middle room, and didn't see her at lunchtime either. She will probably appear at cream cake time but she will be unlucky because it has all run ut. No doubt her daddy will find her a bit of creme fraiche.
I wonder where he has gone?

Little Outing!

Off out this mrning over to Dobbies. It is ages since we have been there because for some reason we didn't go last month so we were down on a few things. Also we wanted to get our free coffees for the month.and have a bit of a look round. Nice day today too so a good day for going.
Got there about a quarter to twelve which gave us a bit of time for looking round , we were looking for a hanging basket for the front of the house but a lot of them were very expensive, however we did spot some in horrible plastic baskets which were £6 so with the discount would make it around £4.20. I suggested that he got one of those and transferred the plants into our nice wicker ones. That would work.  We went round and spotted some of the things we wanted like cakes to keep us going, and shortbreads ditto.   Then we went for our coffees, Vin had a flavoured Latte and I had my usual flat white. Very nice too, had a breather and watched a few peoplwe going by then went off to do our shopping. Picked up the things n his list, and away home.
Nice little lunch at home and Vin answered the doorbell to  yet another delivery man with parcels for our neighbour, she is doing well today because she already had one with the postman this morning too.
Little Jessie actually greeted us at the door when we came home, I think problably because she was hngry, or maybe that's being uncharitable! She did give us a nice miaow though.
Hello folks! Did you go out to get me some cream cake?

Two Days Worth!

Yesterday it was our visit  to the podiatry clinic at Aintree. It was a two o'clock appointment and we got there just on time. I got to the waiting area and just about sat down and Cathy came to the door to get me. Very quick and no waiting. The ulcer seems to be doing well with the antibiotics and she padded both feet we were home by about ten past three. Good going there.
Lovely sunny weather aat the moment and again today. Didn't come up to do the blog yesterday, by the time we got in and had our lunch that was enough so stopped downstairs . It is sunny again today and little Jessie was outside after lunch sunning herself in the garden. Vin ran to the back door t let her in but she stayed where she was and came in later. She does what she wants that cat.
She has come in for her cream cake now, and a nice one it is too this week.

Delivery Rules The Day!

Woke up this morning and Vin was already up and dressed. He had rung the delivery firm who said the delivery of the injections would be between 9.30 and 11.00 so he got up had his shave and went for the papers all before I had opened my eyes. Good going that eh!
He said Jessie had woken him anyway and had tried to get a paw down his neck so he was awake in any case. Funny how the cats have always gone for him Lucy was the funniest, she would not give up and would burrow down on top of him till he moved. Little Rusty used to wake me up by balancing on my side and I would wake up with her wobbling on me very precariously. Funny little things.
Sunny today although it isn't terribly warm in the house, it is supposed to be cool but at the end of the week will get warmer.  The antibiotics that I am on are making me very dozy and I just get over one lot and lo and behold another lot appears, so by the mid-afternoon I am dozing in my chair  at the drop of a hat. Did stay awake for the final episode of Line of Duty . It was actually aired last week but we had some catching up to do. It was excellent we thought, and I am so glad that poor Ted got off at the end, looked bad for him though. Looks like it is all set up for the next series. I think this was the best so far though.
Jessie was out this morning sunning herself on the bench then decided to come in and of course her daddy ran to the back door to let her in! What a princess.
Sitting in the sun waiting for my cream cake!!

In The Money!

Yesterday our Jane had a lovely day out and took herself off to the Cat Cafe in Manchester. From the photos she sent it looks lovely. You pay for entry and then get free hot or cold drinks and whatever cake you want. She had some toast which she said was really good but the cats were the real draw. The photos show  a real mixture of cats of all types and they have little houses and beds and toys to play with, and oof course strokes from the customers. One of her drinks had little chocolatey paw prints on top looks great. I think she is in love, and can't wait to go back!
I find I am in the money today, I looked at my bank balance and it has gone up by £250. Very nice, we worked it out to be the money from Medicash for the stay in hospital. We hadn't received any notification of it either so it was a nice surprise. Another little bit of money too from a win in the Chat magazine,£25 but it is all nice. Vin had been checking the winner's list and noticed his name amongst them but we hadn't got any letter or cheque from them. He rang them up today and left a voice message and a lady has just rung up to say that it had clearly been overlooked and it would be sent within ten to twelve days. Just shows you it is worth checking the lists!
We haven't been out today because the weather is a bit dodgy, in fact it was raining quite hard at lunchtime and pouring on the middle room window.  Cleared up now and apparently we are due for some much better weather over the weekend.
Little Jessie hasn't been doing much today, in her basket, don't think she has been out because she doesn't like the wet. Don't blame her.
Just chillin! Waiting for some cream actually! I'm sure my Daddy can find me some somewhere.

Thursday 9 May 2019

Yesterday As Well!

Off to podiatry yesterday at one o'clock, so notmuch chance to do anything much yesterday at all. Did a little bit online mainly catching up and Vin did some bits and bobs and it was time to go really.  Good traffic and we got there on time a bit early actually. Vin parked outside in the rain so caught me up in the waiting area, didn't wait long then went in to Cathy's room. She makes a goodjob of the feet and gets them padded well. We also took a leaving card in for Jo  who will be sorely missed when she goes on Monday. Shame she is going, but she is going to a hospital nearer to where she lives so will cut down her commuting time drastically, can't blame her really.  I like Jo so will miss her. They are a great bunch of girls in podiatry though, I hope her replacement will be as good.
Came home for lunch and then stayed downstairs, couldn't be bothered going up to get changed so didn't.
Today Vin has been busy, he finished the ironing off, sorted out  the two boxes from Bullens which have a lot of items in them we didn't order. Terrible waste of money, and we have told them a number of times not to send them too. He also changed the eye screening appointment from the end of May because we had an MRI scan n the same day so would have been difficult to keep the two.  Of the two the eye one is the easiest6 to change so did that.
Little Jessie has been up and down today, he said she came upstairs for him when he got up to go to the bathroom so he had to go and feed her, she wouldn't leave him alone otherwise! She did go out for a few minutes this morning, not long though because it is very drizzly so he ran to let her in when he saw her at the back door.
Please can you come and feed me?  I am dying  for some cream now though!

Tuesday 7 May 2019

Quiet and Busy!

!Quiet day for me but a busy day for Vin.  He started with the bedding and got that on to wash, I had finished my letter to Ann in Australia for her birthday so he wrapped the presents I had bought and got those sent off this lunchtime. Apparently it should take about a week which is good going all the way over there.
It started off quite dull and overcast this morning but now it is nice and sunny, still a bit cold though even if it is sunny outside. According to Vin it says i the papers that we are due for a heatwave which will last for some weeks. Hmmm we shall see!
Jessie is oblivious to any weather and is nicely asleep in her basket, next to her Daddy of curse where she is happiest. She does reach out a paw every now and again just to remind him she is there!
Love this picture of Jessie and her Daddy, looking adoringly at each other. Nearly cream cake time Jessie!

Monday 6 May 2019

Bank Holiday!

Bank holiday Monday today, and it started drizzly and wet looking but as the morning has gone on it has cleared up nicely and is now quite sunny. Very decieving though because it is cold according to Vin who went off to crosby this morning to get some bits from Sainsbury's. He has just come in actually and said how cld it was, people are out and about but well wrapped up like it was March!
Just a nice normal day for us, we don't usually go anywhere on a monday, but Vin did go out because he didn't go yesterday. He got the cream cake for his princess and it was the last one in the shop so he was pleased with that. He also stocked up on coal and logs because Home and Bargain are apparently stopping selling them for now, not that it is very wrm, we are still having fires even if it is May!
Jessie likes the fires anyway, and most evenings will be found flopped in front of it.
Did I hear that there is cream cake with countdown! That's good news, well done Daddy!

Friday 3 May 2019

Long Weekend!

Not that it makes much difference to us really, being retired the Bank Holidays don't affect us much at all. Nice when you are working though it makes a nice short week.
Quite a quiet day here, Vin got his insurance through the post, and I got two appointments for the end of May, one for the nephrology clinic, and the other for another MRI scan with contrast on the foot. Wonder why they didn't do it last time, would have saved a bother.  Looks like it will be a busy end of the month for us. Ah well!
The weather is fairly cold today and the forecast is forfrost  over the weekend so that should keep people off the beaches, unlike the Easter weekend when apparently everywhere was log jammed, and you couldn't move on the roads.
Looks like Jessie will get her fire tonight, she loves the fire and lies for ages with her chin over the edge of the fender in front of it, very comfy.
Vin and his little princess!

Thursday 2 May 2019

Odd Weather!

Woke up this morning to a cloudy and rainy morning which didn't look like it was going to clear up at all. Then mid=morning the sun came out and it has been really nice all day after that. You just never know where you are in this country with the weather, the forecasters thought it was going to be rainy all over the bank holiday weekend so we shall see.
Vin went off to vote in the council elections and then went off to Tesco to get a bit of stock in. He has been using things from the freezer , he came back with some good shopping including some nice little tubss of Haagen daaz ice cream which were half price for a treat. All in favour of that. He also said they were selling in the cat food aisle cartons of soup for cats!!!! Isn't that just disgusting?I don't think our Jessie will be getting any of that somehow.
I spent the morning trying to catch up on the sites I go on, and doing the start of a letter to John and Ann for her birthday in a couple of weeks. Try to finish that off at the weekend.
Jessie has had a nice quiet day today, just se5ttling down in her basket.
And, having a bit of a nose around too by the way! probably looking for her daddy.
