Two Days Out!

Well, we have done the garden centres!  Both of them on a run. Yesterday we were so early coming back from podiatry, that we had our coffee at the Ince Blundell  garden  centre., and a look round too. Didn't buy much there though they really didn't have what I was looking for.
Today with it being the last day of the month, also Halloween too as it happenss, we went out to Dobbies, to get our free coffees before the month ran out. We had a little list of things to get so we had an idea of what we were looking for. Had a bit of a mooch first then went for our coffees. We both had flat whites which were a nice smallish but lovely and hot.  Had a good chat and a bit of people watching then went to do our shopping. I wanted to get a Christmas bauble and Vin spotted some great ones. Little figures with little dangly legs. We also got a few things for keeping for the Christmas stores, like cranberry and orange jelly, some tealights the cinnamon ones that smell lovely. Quince jelly and a few others that we can keep. Also some cakes for using when the cream cake has run out.
Little jessie like yesterday hadn't moved from her basket, barely got up to see what her daddy was doing!
Aaah! What a pussycat.

A Good Morning!

Quite an early start this morning. Vin got us up and going very well. He is good at doing that.
We set off for Aintree podiatry at around a quarter to ten,the traffic was very light and the roads clear so we actually got there at ten past ten which was really good. I got to the reception and had a laugh with Laura, then barely sat down and Cathy came along and said "Hello Jennifer do you want to come down" well before Vin came back, from parking the car. We were out in about a quarter of an hour, having my foot dressed and inspected, and the next date will be on a week on Friday when we go to the orthoptist for my SHOES ! I can't remember the last time I wore shoes, instead of these podiatry sandals flip flopping about !
We were actually out before we were due to go in! So Vin had the bright idea of using up the garden centre free coffee vouchers from over the way and went for our coffees. We both had a nice latte and a good chat, then back home again.  Lovely.
Two deliveries this afternoon, one was the router for the WiFi box thae last one had broken, and the other one was my revised Aranesp injections. Vin said that was good timing because you are due one today. HaHa!
Little Jessie didn't move when we went out and she barely moved when we came back either. Just about managed to.

In Today!

We decided to stay in today mainly because it was the last day of half term and we thought everywhere would be busy.Hopefully next week it will be quieter.
We have an appointment on Monday at podiatry and then might go to Dobbies on Tuesday because it is the last day of the month and the last chance to get our free coffees for the month.
Vin decided to contact the phone company about a new router for the internet, but had real difficulty getting  through. One said that he would test the line and ring back but no ring back. Typical! So he left it for ages and rang them. Got through to an Indian woman who said he would have to pay for a new router, which he knew you didn't. So he rang them back again and got through to another Indian man who he said knew what he was talking about, he said to send the old router back to them via a pre-paid jiffy bag and they would send a new one, should arrive in a few days. Result! Well done Vin!
Little Jessie woke him up early this morning, he said he went to the bathroom and it was still dark so he came back to bed. She must have heard him because she came upstairs to get him going. She sat on his front and extended a paw very slowly on his cheek. He carried on hiding!  She jumped off then returned a bit later, this time it worked and he got up to feed her.
At this point I would normally insert a photo of our Jessie,  but when I click the image icon it keeps coming up with "Load Failed! Goodness knows why. All this technology is beyond me!

An Ordinary Day!

Which makes a b
nice change after yesterday really. Poor Vin must have been worn out from all that happened yesterday with the preparation for the chimney sweep and  the moving round of the furniture. A lot of shifting around for him to do.  What a star.
Today we have stayed in  so it was just another day really. I have been getting round the new things on the website. When you are used to what there has always been there it comes as a bit of a shock to find that it has all changed. Sites that you previously clicked on to now have to be logged on each time you use them so if you forget any of the passwords you are stumped.  An absolute pain!!
Little Jessie is of  course oblivious to it all going on round her, except that she did run away when the sweep came.
Gone!!

Technology Gremlins!!!!

Well ! What a day yesterday!  I used the computer as usual yesterday morning and went down for lunch. When I returned ready to go on as normal there was a log in box. Nothing new there, except that when I tried to log on as normal I kept getting a red box saying that AOL had discontinued the provider and we had to log in again for the updated version which would cost . Like Vin at first we thought it was a scam but that was not proved right, and we were unable to proceed further until he fiddled around with all sorts of technical matters I know nothing about. Nothing. We were locked out of the AOL and couldn't see a way out. What annoyed us was that it all happened without  warning. Nothing at all.
We gave it up then went down for our coffee and countdown as we do, and it also transpired just before we went down that the Internet had gone down as well!! Nothing from there at all. Vin didn't know whether that was to do with the faults online or was totally separate. We thought maybe it was a blip and would come on again, but it didn't, and his tablet wouldn't work either.he could not get the WIFI on it at all.  Gave up for the day in exasperation, and went to bed, then he had a brainwave, he went down and fitted the old modem and lo and behold it worked!  Well done Mr Fixit!
This morning Wednesday he had arranged for the chimney sweep to come this afternoon at 2.30, so pretty much everything was arranged around that. I stopped up here mostly out of the way. When I went down he had it all covered with plastic and cotton sheets, ready for him. He actually came at 2 o'clock, and used his vacuum to clear the chimney. Little Jessie ran out of the way when he came in, and is currently on Jane's bed behind me, while I am on the computer. That has proved to be a pain because having a whole new AOL  it meant that all my log in details have been lost so have had to do that all again, still can't complain since the whole thing is working again. It is all working again now but still needs a bit of tweaking. Like the Facebook which is centred on the right side instead of being in the middle as it used to be. If our Jane rings up maybe she will help me get it right, she is great on the computer.
Out of the way!

New Monitor..

The new monitor which is an Acer one is working great touch wood. Comes on immediately, and while I have been struggling a little bit with the size of the lettering on the front, Vin did a bit of tweaking last night and got it back to what it used to be on the last monitor we had, which has now gone to the great tip of electrical goods.
Today we were going to go to Dobbies but decided not to when we got up , mainly because neither of us was really fired up to going. We will probably go for a coffee after the appointment at Aintree on Monday,  and go to Dobbies later on in the week.
Since we were at home we did bits and bobs, Vin had some paperwork to do,and I did some catching up on the computer. It is surprising how much goes on in 24hrs  loads of emails to start with.
Little Jessie woke her Daddy up this morning miaowing very early so he went to feed her. after he came back with our morning coffee and biscuit she came up and settled on his front. Looked lovely, really appealing and cuddly. At least she is with him.
She is never very far from him, if he goes into the kitc hen she will follow him, if he goes into the hall she will sit by the door till he comes back, or go and search him out.  What a little duo!

Out Yesterday In Today!

I had an appointment  at Aintree yesterday afternoon at 3.o'clock to see Mr Butcher who did my foot operation back in July. We got there well on time and Vin went off to park. I was sitting in the waiting area for a few minutes and then my name was called by Steve who said I had to get an x-ray done on the foot. So off I toddled down there. Sat there for a few minutes and Vin found meHe had asked one of the staff where I was and they sent him along to x-ray. Then off I went for the s-ray and back to the original waiting room. And waited and waited, they were rrunning about an hour late! but eventually got in to see the great man who was really pleased with the progress, had a bit of a chat then showed me some exercises to do to strengthen my calf muscles. Consists of leaning against a wall and bending the legs and stretching the legs. Do for five minutes twice a day. Said he would see me again in three months which is next year!  We were only about ten minutes in there after all of that waiting. Oh well we have been lucky with appointments.
Today we are in, we got up later than normal because little Jessie didn't wake Vin up, just came in the room miaowing a bit Started off quite nice but now is horrible. Very drizzly and grey looking.  At least the wind has gone.
Little Jessie been asleep most of the afternoon.

Its Blown Over!

Well at least the stormy weather has gone. Was quite bad in ireland and is now heading its way overland to Scotland and expected to go towards Glasgow.  Quite nice today, just still breezy but looks pleasant.
Vin did all sorts today, he did a bit of gardening at the front, and put some bulbs in the barrel by the front door. This year we got tete-a-tere which is a miniature bright yellow daffodil which is an old stand by. Last year we used a variety called baby moon and they didn't flower for an age. So much so he took a bulb or two back to the garden centre and got our money back! and then they flowered!! Oh dear. Then when he googled them he found they were a late flowering variety. We didn't know that, anyway we went back to the old faithful this year.
So he got them planted and in after going over the way to get some more compost.
He also printed off the letter to John and Ann today, I had already printed it off but the print was really small, and it needed to be bigger. I didn't know how to do this so he did it, put it into an envelope and took it off to be posted, £2.02. Not too bad.
Little Jessie had a good dose of her daddy at lunchtime jumping up on his lap and gazing up adoringly at him.  Now she is in her basket but no doubt she will be all over him when he has his tiny piece of cream cake. She certainly has a nose for that.

Monday and NO Podiatry!

What a change! I can't remember when the last time was that we didn't need to go to Podiatry on a Monday.  The only appointment this week is on Wednesday with Mr Butcher and that is 3.30 in the afternoon so at least it isn't an early one. Nice.
There were dire warnings about the possibility of a big storm in Britain today , it seems to be causing trouble in Ireland but while it is blowy today, the sun is shining and it is quite pleasant. Maybe it is working its way over towards here from over the sea though. There isn't anything much on the news we shall see what is on the six o'clock news.
I finished my letter to John and Ann this morning, I have been such a long time doing it but have finally got there. Will post it tomorrow now. Get ready for the Christmas one then.
The new computer monitor that Vin went for on Friday is working terrifically. As soon as you switch it on it appears, no waiting half an hour for it t warm up or get going. Just shows the difference changing it has made. There are still a couple of tweeks to be done but nothing major at all.
Little Jessie has been quite quiet today, after being fed this morning she has mostly been in her basket, sleeping. Seems to be what she does. She hasn't been out today, most days she will go round the garden, depends on the weather. When it is nice she will go and have a mooch around and a nosey at what is going on.
 Having a prowl.

A Very Successful Day!

Well, a very successful morning today. The podiatry went extremely well.  Everybody was delighted with the state of the foot.  The IPOC machine had done its job well doing a great job of healing the wound. The doctor who saw it was amazed at the difference in it from when she first saw it, and there was a big hole there. So, well done all the podiatry girls for being so patient, it has paid off.
I also had a bit of a fitting with the orthoptist who does the shoes. She last saw me in 2016 and fitted one sho sort of, and couldn't do any more because it was a case dressings and a further operation, healing time etc.,  Jo went off to see if they could locate the shoes that she reckoned were probably lying on a dusty shelf somewhere. Anyway they found them, and she came back with the shoes to have a go at fitting them. They actually fit very well, tried them on and I had a bit of a walk with them on. Great! it was lovely to have the feel of a proper shoe again, can't even remember when I last had shoes on. Lovely feeling.
No podiatry next week, just an appointment with Mr Butcher on Wednesday, and I think he will be chuffed with the foot too.
From podiatry we went to get a Costa from the retail park in Aintree. There is a P.C.world just opposite which we had planned to go to afterwards. We both had flat whites which were lovely. The Costa was quite quiet when we got there then all of a sudden it filled up. That branch has a great turnover with people coming and going all the time. Wouldn't mind shares in that one.
After that Vin went over to look at monitors and rang me up from inside,  The one that looked good was an Acer for £128 pounds with a three year guarantee. He has fitted it up and it seems to be working beautifully. Well done Vin XX
Little Jessie was in her basket when we left and was still there when we returned. Didn't look like she had moved at all.  Probably hadn't.

Thursday 12 October 2017

More Autumnal..

Nicer weather today, more Autumnal with a bit of sunshine and no rain, yet that is.  We are out tomorrow so it will probably rain then!
We did bits and pieces today, Vin went off to Tesco to get some bits he had run out of and left me  on the computer, once he had got it going.
We have a fairly early appointment at the podiatry clinic tomorrow so will maybe go for a Costa afterwards and visit the P.C. world place which is actually on the same retail park so easy to get to. We are looking for a new computer monitor, at least one that works!
Little Jessie was nice this morning, she jumped up on the bed to sit on her Daddy's front. She allowed me to stroke her for ages, she nuzzled my hand and everything. Very regal of her! Vin was getting a bit jealous he said!

Wednesday 11 October 2017

Windy and Rainy and Sunny!

A little bit of everything today. The weather girl on BBC said that we were going to have a lot of raining and a blustery day today and for once they were spot on. The morning and most of the early afternoon were just that but now the sun is shining even though it is still blowy.
We decided after looking out of the window that we wouldn't bother going out today so we stayed in. Vin did a bit of washing and I caught up on computer things. Nothing exciting really, but it doesn't matter though. We are out on Friday morning so will get some stuff then. Maybe look for a new monitor for this computer which is playing up badly. It is taking for ever to get going each time it is switched on .  This morning it was terrible and even once it had got going I re started it and was sitting here for about half an hour while it started up again. Grrr.
Little Jessie was up early this morning and jumped up on the bed, even on me which is very unusual for her, she normally goes straight for her daddy. he got up to feed her then came back upstairs. Now she is asleep in her basket on the sofa next to him, and stays there.
Could she get any closer.?

Monitor Trouble!!

The monitor on this computer is being a real pain these days! it takes forever and an age to switch it on each time you use it now. Vin has looked it up on the google and not really found anything useful, so we have come to the conclusion that it needs replacing.
Not sure yet who we will go for, we shall have to bite the bullet and go for it.
Yesterday we had the early appointment at Aintree,  at nine thirty. That is early for us but we got there early too, and was seen almost immediately. Out by ten and although we had planned to go for a coffee it was too early for that, so we decided to go home instead, via Crosby so he could get a couple of things from Sainsbury's. We were home by eleven too.  The good news was that I had some of the later appointments cancelled because  I don't have the Ipoc pump which needs redoing twice a week I can get away with only going the once, so that leaves the week a lot clearer.
Little Jessie is presently on Jane's bed, all curled up on the middle of it. looks very peaceful too. Sorry Jane!

Hair Cut At Last !

Today he went off to Formby to get his hair cut.! It had really grown and was turning up over his colar at the back. It is very thick hair too so tends to look scruffy but he came back with a great cut. Nice and short and thinner on top, none of your modern cuts thank you. The latest fashion seems to be the longer on top and a shaven sides which I think looks terrible but that is just my opinion.
I stayed here and played about on the computer. Nothing very exciting though, just following the gossip.
Little Jessie has been asleep in her basket , nothing new there since she wakes up very early, but isn't getting her Daddy up these last few mornings, I think it is darker to start with so she isn't getting going. She did rise when her Daddy came back from Formby.
Where oh where has my Daddy gone?

Wednesday 4 October 2017

Vin's Busy Day!

Blustery as well. Very grey and damp looking with the odd drizzly shower. Been like that for a couple of days now, I wonder if it is the leftover from the hurricane over the pond. Probably not.
I  had a shower this morning which is always a bit of a faff at the moment because it involves  putting a Limbo on my leg to keep the foot dry which was managed very successfully. Then he put the bedding in the wash so we are all nice and clean for tonight!! Not that we are dirty it is just today all done at once.
Pouring down as I type this, it really looks horrible out there. Vin is in the bath, hopefully washing his hair, maybe he will go for a hair cut tomorrow it is getting to look like Einstein.
Little Jessie seems to be in a bitry mood today. She was sleeping in her basket by her beloved Daddy and he went to tickle her tummy as you do, and she rolls on her back, Then she scratches him and nips at his hand. I am sitting there going is that YOUR cat biting you !! In a while we will go down for our afternoon coffee and little bit of cream cake. Now THAT she likes, and will sit on the arm of his chair till he gives her a little bit of the cream from the middle. :)
All over him now eh!!

Tuesday 3 October 2017

One in One out !

Still a bit blowy today, not quite as much as yesterday but definitely cooler weather coming I think.
Today I stayed in while Vin went out to get the new tyres for his car he had rung up about and ordered the other day. He had booked in for eleven o'clock, and set off in plenty of time. he was going to paint the brake drums and had a little tin of black paint that he had in the shed so went all prepared Bless him.  He also went into Tesco which is only over the road to get a few bits we had run out of so killed two birds with one stone as they say!  Home in plenty of time for coffee at twelvsies.
Little Jessie was keeping me company in Jane's room all curled up on the bed. At one point she got up went downstairs then came back a few minutes later and flopped down by my feet. There she stayed till her Daddy came back and called Hello from the hallway. Then she sped downstairs to be with him.
Maybe there was an ulterior motive. :)

Sunday 1 October 2017

Catching Up !!

Didn't get round to doing a blog on Friday mainly because we had an afternoon appointment and then went for a free coffee over the way at Ladygreen before coming home so run out of time really. Still never mind eh!
Now Sunday morning and a new month, October no less all ready, so Hares and Rabbits. Have no idea why we say this, we always used to say White Rabbits in our house but when Vin came here all those years ago he said the other one so it stuck. I wonder why we say those.
Vin has been his usual busy little self Bless Him. He went off to Tesco yesterday to get the bits in for the week. Must say his choices are very good. He got a lovely goat's cheese flan for tea last night. very tasty. Today he has gone off to Sainsbury's in Crosby for the rest of what we get. he also goes to Home and Bargain for, well the bargains and the things we don't get anywhere else.
He was looking out of the bedroom window this morning and watched a sad little tale unfolding. A white car pulled up over the road and a granny got out with a little boy. The younger woman presumably his mum sat in the car. Granny walks towards the hotel and kisses the little boy. Mum sat in the car and waited, Vin said she looked upset. Then he said the little boy didn't want to go today and sat on the floor. His dad picked him up and granny kissed him again and off he went.  Somebody's marriage in bother by the looks of it but sad never the less. Seems to happen every Sunday, he must be one of those Sunday dads.
Little Jessie is doing her usual things except she is taking to Jane's bed which she isn't too pleased about. She says there won't be any room for her when she comes home but of course there will. I think Jessie will move anyway, she really only likes her Daddy. :)
Reminds me of New England and our Autumn holidays there, such gorgeous colours.
The pair of them posing.
