Well Its All Over Now Bar The Shouting!

So they say! Our Jane went home back  to manchester on the 11.30 train from the station. It has been lovely having her home for christmas and I think she just enjoyed time with our Jessie too. One of the presents she brought for Vin was a cat blanket, not for him but for his cat, and that has certainly been a big hit. jessie has hardly been off it since she got it. Looks really lovely too, bright red against her black and white fur.
We had a lovely Christmas, and Vin did a wonderful job of cooking the Christmas meal, something for everybody, with jane and me having a "meatless" loaf and Vin had a goat's cheese stack from Sainsburys.  All the trimmings and everyone was happy. A lovely buffet the next day too with all sorts of tasty things.  Very nice little cheese and onion rolls dips, fries, and any number of other goodies.  Well done Vin you should be very proud. Even Jessie had her chicken dinner! Courtesy of Felix.
Back to normal now I think, at least some of the programmes are getting that way.Not terribly impressed  with the television over Christmas  apart from call The midwife the rest wasn't up too much at all. Maybe some new series starting will be better.
Posing beautifully!

Well It's All Over Now!

Mostly! Boxing Day buffet type meal later, for us three.  Very nice Christmas day dinner cooked by the wonderful Vin. We do not have the meat of course, but we did have a meatless loaf made from the packets of burger mix that jane brought homewith her. Vin had a type of nut roast item with goat's cheese that he bought from Sainsburys, which he said was very enjoyable. We had all the trimmings and it was a lovely meal. So well done Vinny XXX
For pudding we had a chocolate brownie with some creme fraicheand raspberries on the side. very tasty.
Fortunately this year we had our jane with us, as she was off for Christmas, and she brought presentswith her,  quite a lot for jessie. She had a wonderful time playing on the bed with the catnip mice and was going mad with excitement. It was a really nice day yesterday, I thinkeveryone enjoyed their food, even jessie had her chicken dinner, courtesy of Felix!
A beautiful picture of our Jessie on her blanket which Jane bought as a Christmas present. Gorgeous shade of red with a fantastic silver star on it. She took to it immediately and since it is next to her daddy she is extremely happy. Present of the day I reckon!

Christmas!

It's creeping up on us again like it does every year. You think you have ages to get ready and then there it is on top of you. Very damp here today but not raining yet.. We have been hearing the news from Australia about the heatwaves 40degrees there in Sydney with terrible bush fires. 44 in Melbourne apparently, that is way too hot for me, couldn't stand that. Hope John and Ann are alright in Perth.
Appointment in the Podiatry clinic yesterday at eleven o'clock so not too early. We  just about managed to get there, no reason why we were a bit on the latish side it was just the time seemed to run away with us. However, when we got there I had to wait a bit anyway so it didn't matter. Last appointment for the year actually the next one will be on the beginning of january two weeks off so a bit of a break. We finished around twelve so went to the Costa in Aintree for our coffee. I had my usual flat white which I really like and Vin had a medium latte with soya milk which he enjoyed. Very pleasant and not too busy. People watched for a bit then off home.Must say an awful  lot of people seem to be ontheir phones not enjoying a conversation at all though.
Vin said little Jack from next door was at our back door this morning trying to get in but noluck, so he said he went off with his tail down. Aaah, poor little boy think he is looking  for some social interaction.Pity Jess doesn't take to him I think he is lovely.
On the alert and ready to jump off!

It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Decorations up, trees are done, and cards arriving by each post.  I did all of mine yesterday so they have been posted, and Vin did the neighbours ones so they have gone also. Just last minute shopping to do in terms of veggies etc., otherwise vin has done an excellent job of getting everything. I don't think we'll starve! We don't have many presents to buy actually, and John and Ann's parcel went a bit ago so all is done really.
W3e have had visits from little Jack next door who comes in for a nosey. Jessie isn't too keen and twends to run off upstairs to hide under the bed out of the way. He is a lovely cat and very friendly, seems to like our house and garden. He loves Vin playing with him and will chase a ball up the garden for ages. She is going away again for the holidays so they wll be in the cattery again. poor little things.
Election a week away now so all done and dusted, we have a Conservative party in charge wopn with a landslide this time. now the labour party are arguing amongst themselves about who is going to be the next leader after jeremy Corbyn goes. Beyond caring really now.

Jessie roasting by aan open fire!

Early Early!

Another early appointment again this morning for nine thirty, which means an early get up and go session. Very wet and horrible day today but we got there a bit early so Vin dropped me off and went to park. Cathy today, with a medical student, and a visit from the Dr., He prescribed memore antibiotics for anothe four weeks, otherwise everything is fine. Got all padded up again and gave them their biscuits. Decided against Celebrations this year, since we got those last year. But as I was going out I saw about six tubs of them in the corner of their office!! Whoops!!
Well the election is all now over,  big big win for the Conservatives, and thank goodness  a bigloss for Corbyn. We still have a Labour MP here but with a reduced majority. Seems like it was a vote against Corbyn, and the activists. They need to do something drastic to bring back the moderate vote.
Nice little surprise last night, I was sitting watching the box when Vin brought  little jack in from next door. Vin had opened  the door to get another log and he was there so he came in.He is a gorgeous cat and has grown since she has been away. very fluffy and cuddly. Good job that Jessie was asleep don't think she would like another cat in the house. I would!
Wot? Another cat in here with my Daddy?

Wednesday 11 December 2019

A Little Outing!

Off we went yesterday to Dobbies  on quite a blowy and drizzly day too. Typical december day really. When we got there no wheelchairs to be had so we waited a while and Vin went off to get some logs while I sat in the car and listened to the radio.  Eventually he spotted a lady getting out of one so he nabbed it and off we went to get our bits. It was 20% off everything todaay so a good opportunity to get a few things we wanted. Did spot some nice canberry sauce so got that, also some glitter shortbread  for the podiatry girls, and i wanted to get a few supplementary Christmas cards since the ones I have are being recycled a bit now. We are quite lucky  in that apart frrom johnand Annwe don't have a lot of people to buy for so thatmakes;life easier.Jane seems quite happy with cards and money donations . We then went for our free coffees which were very nice, a flat white for moi and a flavoured largelatte for vin plus two free mincepies that were from a voucher. Vin had one with some clotted cream with his Countdown yesterday and probably the other today. Little Jessie  enjoyed a little blob of creamtoo. . Funny on Monday because there was no cream cake yet at countdown time she appeared in the middle room in the middle of the floor looking up expectantly at vin. Made us feel awful. Anyway yesterday she was fine!
Where's my cream??

Thursday 5 December 2019

very Early Morning!

Up with the lark this morning for us that is. Had an appointment at the podiatry clinic for 9.30 so that meant an early rise and breakfast and our by a quarter to nine. Fair amount of traffic but we kept moving nevertheless so actually got there early. Nobody waiting but still had to wait for  around twenty minutes or so. Saw the newlady today, not too keen on her really not much to say for herself, and a bit abrupt. Not like the others they are really friendly.
We were out by about a quarter past ten and Vin went along to the Co-op to see what they had. Came out with a nice box  of chocolates and some little shortbread stars, and a coffee for the Tassimo. Then home and wewere inthe house by eleven which is when we are usually getting round and about!
Jessie was woken up early Vin said she just about opened her eyes and he fed her, she then went back to sleep. What a nice life!
Vin spent yesterday putting up the trees and decorated them with all of the little things we have. Most of them we have had for years except for the bauble that we have had each year since I have been on the Delia site. I ove those they are all so different. My very favourite ones are a little set of wooden ones that we bought on a trip to London many moons ago and paid £1.75 for them which I thought was really expensive at the time. Not now of course.
Waiting  for sprinkles!!

Monday 2 December 2019

Monday Morning- No Express!

He went down for his  two papers thismorning , normally gets the Daily Mail and the Daily Express. he gets this only on a Monday because there is a crossword that he always does. No Express this morning so he went off to the garage over the by-pass to get one, It's a new one andoly minutes away so very handy. Just come back with a set of eight snowy globe lights he got free from the Lady Green nurseries up the road which were free from a leaflet that came through the door the other day!  Vin always has an eye for a bargain and these are really nice.
Went to podiatry last Wednesday, back on the antib's for four weeks and have another x-ray in about four weeks time.Apart from that noother appointments to speakof.Quite quick on Wednesday and we were out within the hour so got away with the free parking.
Little Jessie has had a nice normal week, nolittle  cats fromnext door to bother her in the garden. They havegone to a cattery while their mum has gone to South Africaon holiday.
Happily sleeping! Wonder what they dream of, maybe the cream cake that she will get later this afternoon.

Thursday 21 November 2019

Twinkle toes Again !

Yesterday we were up early for a podiatry appoinjtment at 10.30. We left on time and the traffic was really light we got there early for around a quarter past. Waited a while and Vin went off to park the car, difficult because the multi storey was full so he ended up parking outside in the one in front. Cathy was a bit worried about one toe because the x-ray that I had last week showed a suspicion of bone infection in it according to the radiologist so she called the doctor. That meant a wait but he was there quite quickly actually. Had a good look at the pictures and ended up prescribing antibiotics. Again! four times a day for four weeks and then have another x-ray done in mid December. Meanwhile I am back to weekly appointments!
Good news about yesterday was that we got out in reasonable time so we got to go for a nice3 coffee at Costa in the retail park. It is a nice one there seperate from the main shops and easy parking. I had a skinny latte and Vin had one with soya  milk and we shared a packet of their tiny square shortbreads.
Home for our lunch later and a very sleepy cat who just about moved when her daddy came in.  and very cold at the moment quite blowy today too.No doubt his cat will stop inside!
Blazing fir and a contented cat. What more could you want. Except a smallplate of creamlater!

Monday 18 November 2019

Sign In Again!!

Logged on this morning again as usual and was surprised to find that I had to formally sign n again from start. this always fills me with dread in case anything wrong. and it all goes pear shaped. But it didn't, and it is all good again.
Quite a nice day today but cold, Vin is putting anti-freeze in his car this morning just in case. The paper yesterday did say we are in for a big freeze sometime soon.
friday we went off to Litherland to see the stoma nurse for a review which I have never had before. She was a bit concerned about the size of it and suggested that I reduce the size of the hole that is precut in the centre. Too bad that we have quite a lot of stock so that will have to wait.  Meanwhile I am back to the normal routine. Got a little parcel from Colonplast this morning which we thought had a free sample in it but all it contained was a leaflet.! Bit of a waste of money if you ask me.  Anyway the early appointment on Friday meant that we could go for a coffee afterwards so  we went to Tesco for  cOSTA. vERY BUSY, PROBABLY BECAUSE IT WAS A fRIDAY, BUT WE DEID FIND A COUCH PARTITIONED OFF NEAR THE ENTRANCE. vETRY NICE AND COMFORTABLE BUT IT WAS FREEZING  MUST HAVE BEEN THE DRAUGHT FROM  THE DOORS BEING OPENED ALL THE TIME.
lITTLE jESSIE WAS FAST ASLEEP ON jANE'S BED WHEN i CAME IN TO USE THE COMPUTER, BUT JUMPED DOWN AFTER A SHORT WHILE. wHAT'S WRONG WITH ME THAT SHE SO PREFERS HER dADDY TO MY COMPANY. nOT AS IF i AM REALLY NOISY EITHER, WE TEND TO TALK IN WHISPERS WHEN SHE IS IN HERE!!
Just noticed that the capitals are on my fingernail must have caused that, not typing that again so it will have to do.
Where's my cream cake? and where's my Daddy?

Wednesday 13 November 2019

Sooty and Sweep (Part Two) !!

Yesterday the chimney sweep came, he was a bit early by abut ten minutes but Vin was ready and waiting. He workedlike a Trojan yesterday getting everything cleared and put back again afterwards. There was no dust or soot around and since he used a vacuum he was very quick too. Worth the £40, it was two years since we last had it done so good value really. Little jessie got herself out of the way and ran upstairs to the middle room and hid under the bed in Jane's room, just flew past me and didn't wait for anything. It was funny later when she came downstairs she she went round sniffing everything, almost as if she knew something was going on. she had a good play later with some of the toys that had turned up in the odd corner!
Today Vin says he is not going out because the weather is a bit changeable, but he is doing the plants in the hanging baskets instead. We bought those in Dobbies last week but the weather has been so wet it was impossible to put them in. A bit clearer today so he is having a go. Still cold though. Don't suppose Jessie is keeping him company, maybe little Jack from next door will instead.
All back to normal again now! missed my cream cake yesterday I was upstairs out of the way and they ate theirs without me!!!

Tuesday 12 November 2019

Sooty and Sweep!!

Tuesday today and the chimney sweep is coming at 12.30. I notice little Jessie has just gone past me right under our Jane's bed so she must be getting out of the way pronto.
Very mixed day weatherwise, clear at the moment but we have just had a torrential shower of rain which we could do without really. There is a lot of flooding around the country especially in Sheffield and thereabouts. Quite cold today too, and we have had fires for a few days now. Jessie seems to like those  and will lie in front of it on the mat with her little face on the fender.
Vin is playing a blinder today and has the room all ready for him now. It is done with a vacuum so shouldn't be any mess which is good. Just waiting for his arrival now.
Only appointment this week is with the appliance nurse in Litherland on Friday morning, no podiatry for a couple of weeks yet.
Little Jessie still under the bed keeping out of the way.
Keeping out of the way! She will come out later when all is quieter.Probably at cream cake time!

Saturday 9 November 2019

Tootsies!

Yesterday was a Podiatry day. Since we haven't been for three weeks it wasn't so bad. The feet are looking quite good now according to Vin and the podiatry lady so there is a light at the end of the tunnel now. She did a bit of tidying up on one of my toes and thought it was a bit softlooking soordered an x-ray. We went down for that which was done straight away actually and then home again.  We did have to pay for parking yesterday because we were jept a bit longer but not too bad in three weeks. Next appointment is the 20th or thereabouts so quite good.
Jane is back at work again now and did an eight eight day yesterday. Off today and eight eight tomorrow.  She is still a bit nasally and has a cough but not ill with her lurgy now which is good. Jessie is fully recovered too and is getting vin up at some ungodly hour to feed her. Then he went down to get our breakfasts and she was after more. Cheeky monkey.  We have just had a lovely long chat on the phone about all sorts of things.  Vin quite often asks what do you talk about and it isdifficult to remember, about everything really. The present, the future and the past and all sorts.
I love this one!

Tuesday 5 November 2019

Hairdo!!

At long last I went and got my hair cut yesterday. Haven't been for such a long time I have forgotten when exactly, and it had grown so straggly and horrible that I finally decided last week to make an appointment. Much better for having it done,at least it looks tidier now.
Jane rang up yesterday too because she couldn't get her car started, the battery was totally flat so the central locking wouldn't work either. The poor girl had a terrible cough and was suffering from the "lurgy" apparently doing the rounds and she had caught it. She was waiting for the AA man to come and get it started it at least, then sit in it for a whiloe to get it running. Vin says it just needs a charge but the AA man had said it needs a new battery . Sorted for the time being though and she was going back to bed with tomato soup and some toast.    She was going  to give work a ring to say she was ill so wouldn't be in today, hope she is feeling better than yesterday poor girl.
Jessie is certainly bck to normal now and has been coming upstairs to jump on the bed on top of Vin for the last few nights. When I came in here to do this she was on the Mothercare blanket that jane used to have in her cot but didn't stop long and soon jumped down when I arrived. Wonder why? Mothercare by the way is going into receivership and closing a lot of stores with the loss of many jobs. Seems a shame, can't think why there are plenty of babies around but maybe the parents all buy their needs online these days. We bought all of Jane's things from there when she was a baby, but times change.
Stuck like glue!!

Saturday 2 November 2019

Off Out!

Tok ourselves off to Dobbies yesterday, Vin had a voucher for two free coffees and two free cakes for his birthday so we went off to use those. He craftily took a box to put the cakes in and a packet of our normal biscuits with us.
We had a look round first to see what we would be buying also a look at plants for hanging baskets for the back garden. The one at the front looks nice, that has baby cyclamens in it which are really pretty, but the ones in the back are empty. After that we went to get our coffees, it was really busy probably because it is half term and there were kids everywhere. I had a flat white as usual and Vin had a latte with his own flavouring in it. OK we are minge bags!!
Got all our things that we had spotted so went and paid for those. Vin went back afterfor some pansies and came back with primroses! he said the pansies looked a bit weedy when he loked at them so he got the others. Ah well they will look great in the spring.
Home for our lunch and a note from Amazon to say they had left my parcel next door with a neighbour. Good delivery they weren't supposed to be delivered till today.
Jessie was just waking up when we got home, just about got herself going to greet her daddy!
Hello are you disturbing my sleep?

Thursday 31 October 2019

Quiet Today!

Pretty much quiet today with not a lot going on. Vin has rung the chimney sweep and made an appointment for the beginning of November, and I have just rung the hairdressers down the road and made an appointment for a cut and blow on Monday at 12O'clock with Beverleey. That will be good because it is like straw and wild mint at the moment, so a good tidy up is needed.
Our Jane has returned to Manchester after Vin dyed her hair for her, it is so thick I wish I could transplant some of it. She needs a haircut too but it is getting the time.
The big news at the moment is the General Election,!! God knows who we will vote for this time. certainly could never vote for Jeremy Corbyn and his shouty mob, it will be on Dec 12th so the pundits are saying there will be a poor turn out because of the dark nights and the weather etc., We shall see. I am with Brenda of Bristol, "Not another one!!"
Jessie has settled back into normallity now and is doing things as she always did. I think she really got on well with Jane when she was home, and let hwer pick her up and carry her around too.
On the prowl!

Tuesday 29 October 2019

Nice Weekend!

Very early on Saturday morning we got a phone call from our Jane who rang to say she was on the train on her way home. Unexpected because I thought she had changed her mind because she was doing a night shift on Thursday for one of her colloeagues. She arrived mid morning  the  trains being on time. Spent a lot of the weekend asleep  catching up after her night shifts understandably, they must be very tiring.  Tiger crust pizzas proved the favourite over this weekend with her eating ne every night!  She certainly bonded with Jessie too and the cat actually spent some of its time under her bed sleeping. She really likes Jane and lets her pick her up and carry her around without struggling either.
She had her hair done yesterday dyed that is so at least she is going back with nice dark hair again. Gone back this morning quite early because she didn't want to go back in the dark very sensibly, and intends to get herself a burrito from Manchester for her main dinner.
Apart from that excitement it has been a normal weekend really, not a lot happening. Quite nice weather, blue skies today anyway, and touches of frost in the mornings n Vins's shed roof. Not having a fire yet though not quite cold enough but I don't think it will be long.  Vin did take an unfinished log cabin patchwork quilt to a lady in Formby yesterday though. I had mostly finished it but my eyesight now means that I cannot really see the sewing any more so he had spotted the name of a lady who did alterations etc., so he got in touch and took it yesterday. That will be nice to have done, it had been in the airing cupboard for years just not quite completed so if she can do that it willo be great.
Jessie is now back to normal and is asleep on her blanket on Vins sofa.
Back to normal and waiting for my cream cake. All better now after her bladder infection which really knocked her out.

Friday 25 October 2019

Very Wet Today!

What a good job Vin did his shed a few days ago because the weather has been dodgy since then, He went down to try and wash the woodwork down yeaterday and the Heavens opened, he said he didn't get wet because he was moving around!!! Steady rain this morminmg though so it is another nice coffee in for us today. Lovely!
The news is full of "Brexit" still, now there is another talk of a general election on the 12th of December. Nice Christmas present. Not!  Don't see the point myself, they can't agree anyway and i do not see that another election is going to make any difference. They all argue for the sake of it anyway.
The other news is the discovery of 39 bodies in the back of a container lorry down South. Apparently they are all Chinese, 31 men and 8 w3omen. Goodness knows how much they paid to come here but you do wonder why they bother, sad as it is for their families.
Jessie appears to have fully recoveresd now and is back to normal after her bladder infection. Thank goodness for that, it is really worrying when they are ill and they can't tell you what is wrong. She is now eating and drinking as normal and playing with her Daddy and sitting on his knee. no longer hiding under Jane's bed but does go on top off it when her daddy is in there on the computer.
Waiting for her food to be delivered!

Thursday 17 October 2019

Coffee Out!

off out yesterday to Dobbies for our coffees for the month.and very nice too. It was a nice day as well for a change and no delays on the roads so wwe got there in good time for a look round. Spotted a few things we wanted to buy and noted them for later.  It was very Christmassy in there with all the trees and decorations out. Didn't spot much in the way of Halloween stuff though maybe not as important these days.
Went for our coffees after a bit, I had a very nice flat white, and Vin had a latte and put his flavourin g in it, and hush.. we took our own biscuits. Well we do have a big box of the ones that they sell upstairs in the house so it would be silly to buy them at one pound per packet!!
Little Jessie is right back to normalnow, eating and drinking asnormal thank goodness. It too the best part of a week all told, and she spent a lot of the week under Jane's bed hiding, just coming out for the odd drink of water and that was about it. So glad she is better, it is very worrying when they are ill, and it was a nasty do.
Nice and normal again. She even came down to greet us when we came back frm Dobbies yesterday.which was nice.

Tuesday 15 October 2019

Waiting!

In today waiting for a delivery, did get a letter from QVC with a refund cheque for £43.10p apparently for the refund of postage on returned items. Nice surprise.
Our Jessie is definitelylooking better, she came down last night and Vin said she actually showed some interest in her food which she hasn't done for the last week or so. It has taken about a week for her to recover, it must have been quite an infectin poor little thing. Vin is a lot happier with her now.
We got a parcel from John and Ann yesterday with a present for Vin for his birthday, it was delayed because it had been stuck in someone's car apparently. nice letter to go with, telling all their gossip. Vin reads them out to me because the writing is so small I have no chance of reading it.
Nice day today and vin has totally finished his shed, he did the last bit of nailing yesterday, it was just the bit at the back that was awkward to get at.  Al tight and waterproof now and a really good job done. Well done!
I wonder if she will come down for a bit of cream cake today?

Monday 14 October 2019

On The Mend!

She spent most of the day in the middle room upstairs yesterday, out of the way I suppose and nice and quiet.  She came down last night and sat in our room and then jumped up on her daddy's lap for a stroke and a cuddle. Just the same as normal.
This morning he said she was asleep on her blaket in the middle room, and ate some of her food so it looks like she is on the mend. Been a week, but vin went online and found that is quite normal for an infectionofthat type. Which is about right, it was last monday he took her to the vets.
His shed was done on Saturday, the best day of the week weather wise. Almost finished except for the few nais in the back part thaat he couldn't reach, but he says he will tack them in sideways so that will be fixed. Poured down on Sunday so he was out checking it and it is really fine. Well done Mr Fixit!
Jane has been on nights for the last three nights and she said Saturday night was terrible, well over a hndred people in the A&E  and trollies in corridors. Hope last night was better for her.
Appointment on Friday this week so no rush anywhere, a delivery tomorrow so might go somewhere on Wednesday. That  is the week really. Unless something crops up!
Can we tempt you? Maybe a little bit.

Friday 11 October 2019

Jessie's progress!

Jessie has been  under the weather most of the week really.hiding away under the bed in Jane's room for a lot of the time, just coming down for a drink and a wee ocasionally. Vin haslooked up her tablets online and apparently they van make a cat drowsy, so maybe that is it. She is certainly not herself anyway, not yet.
yesterday it started out nice and sunny so Vin attempted to begin the shed reroofing, then it started to rain so he came in and gave up. This morning it started out very grey and overcast and was raining, now it is bright and sunny with a lovely blue sky.! You don't know where you are really. He has gone to Tesco's to do the Saturday shopping so he can have tomorrow free, he has just rung up to say that half of our road is in Tesco, and he is off to homebase to buy a blind for the extension window, it is a blackout blind so should be better in the bright sun. We could do with one in the middle room as well really because it is very bright in the afternoon, but we shall have to see what the one in the kitchen is like.
Not here at the moment but under the bed all curled up and out of the way. Funny little creatures aren't they!

Wednesday 9 October 2019

Our Jessie!

The visit to the vets on Monday afternoon solved the mystery of why she was wobbly and under the weather. Vin took her to the Vilage Vets in Crosby which he was very impressed with and  the vet he saw said it looked like a bladder infection. She had to stay in t be sedated and have a catheter inserted to drain it, and he could collect her later in the evening which he did at six o'clock or thereabouts. She was really wobbly when she came home and slept a lot. as she did yesterday. Not interested in food much but did have a tiny nibble at some.  Last night she disappeared into the front room we thought so we went off upstairs to get ready for bed and then he came in to say he couldn't find her!! Turns out she was in Jane's room under the bed tucked away in a corner. He left her undisturbed.
This morning he got up at six to go and see if she is alright and gave her the tablets that were prescribed. two twice a day and a squirt of painkiller once a day too. Coffee time this morning he came to say she had had a big wee! punching the air as he told me. He said she was a lot perkier, glad of that, you do worry when your cat is not well. Poor little thing.
Weather is very unpredictable today, certainly not shed repairing weather. One minute lashing down with rain the next it is brighter, you just don't know where you are. At the moment it is really sunny but when I came in here to do this the rain was lashing down. British weather!
Thankyou for looking after me daddy!

Monday 7 October 2019

Poor Jessie!

Vin came up with our usual morning coffee this morning and said there is something wrong with Jessie, he said she didn't greet him as normal and when she jumped down she was limping very badly. Didn't want her food which is extremely unusual for her, and just flopped down in the alcove by the kitchen.  She did hobble to the litter tray and used that which is a good sign I suppose,  but he carried her upstairs to  the bedroom and after a bit she went to jump down. She was definitely limping badly, I thought on her back right leg.
He has rung the village vets in Formby and could have had an appointment at five this afternoon, or they have a new branch in Crosby over the Peacocks shop who could see her at two thirty so he has gone for that. We shall see what is wrong then I hope. Hopefully it is something not too serious. Poor little thing, you worry when there is something wrong with them.
Normal Monday otherwise, don't think he will do anything to the shed today, firstly because of Jessie and secondly because the weather is looking very overcast and might rain which you do not want. Not blowy or rainy just dull.
Poor Jessie. Vin has just been getting the cat basket out of the shed, it's been a while since we used that, he said little jack from next door was trying to get in but Vin had told him you can't come in today Jack.! Don't want him disturbing Jessie today.

Thursday 3 October 2019

Little Visitor!

Just sitting here at the computer browsing as you do and I heard Vin say Hello! and a little ginger and white pussy cat appeared round the corner. It was Jack from next door, he came straight to my hand for a nuzzle. Lovely catty, very friendly. We haven't seen much of his sister but she is apparently very shy, she has been in the garden but runs off quite quickly.  Jack is certainly growing bigger now and he has the bushiest tail I have ever seen. Jealous! not of his tail but that he is so friendly. He is presently exploring the terrain under Jane's bed God knows what he will find under there!!
Vin has been tidying up the airing cupboard which was stuffed withthingswe haven't used for years! Some forthe recycling, somefor the charity shopand some for the animal rescue.  It looks lovely and clear now and space for the bedding wwe do use. Great job Vin.
He also has bought newroofing felt for the top of the shed roof which is perished. Got it yesterday in Formby when it was a lovely day. Today it is overcast and looks like rain and forecast for stormy weaather. Wouldn't you know it. That is on hold for a bit, but he does have everything ready.
Jessie had a run in with Jack but I think they were alright.
Watch it Jack, the cream cake is all mine!

Shoes!!

Still in my shoes and slippers,  getting used to walking in them again. Went to podiatry on Friday for my appointment and the feet are healing up nicely, so do not have to go back for three weeks.!
Big problem over the weekend, because the thermostat has gone in our immersion heater, so Vin has gone off to Waterloo this morning to buy a new one, it is 18" long so the shelf in the airing cupboard had to be removed. Good grie4f, the amount of stuff in there you wouldn't believe, it is all piled up on Jane's bed at the moment waiting to be gone through. I think the animal rescue in Freshfield will be getting some things for the cats and doggies.
Nice day today, after all ofthe rain yesterday, quite a lot of flooding againaround the country especially in Wales. Vin was saying that the fields were all very wet on the way to Crosby. The cats are tending to stop in at the moment, we haven't seen thekitties fromnext door for a little while, and Jessie won't go out, she definitely does not like the rain, but who does? Can't blame her really. She much prefers to stay in reclining on her new blanket.!
She stopped using her basket completely so I think Vin felt obliged to get her something else! He came back from Crosby one Sunday with a new blanket and she took to that immediately and now looks very much at home until she falls out of favour with that I suppose!!

A Bit Of Drama!

Certainly was a bit of drama last night. We had just settled down to watch the news and then our recorded countdown with our coffee and oops the lights all went out!  Vin went to the front to see if it wasjust our house, but it appeared that it was the whole village, and everyone else in the road was doing the same thing. He said it was really funny, all the neighbours out at the same time.
Strange in the house, so quiet, no noise at all, torches appearing from everywhere, it was like the old blackout days of the seventies. At least with those you knew what time  this one was so unexpected. Good job it wasn't the middle of Winter, mind you we would have had a fire probably so some heat.
Funny just how much you rely on electricity, no microwave, no cooker although we still had the hob, no het, no electric blanket etc The power came back on at a quarter to nine and Vin got his pizza in the oven so he was happy. All ok now!.
jessie was not bothered except to lie in her comfy places and occasionally move around.  Vin bought her a new blanket at the weekend which she really likes so now she is back beside her Daddy on the sofa.
Mucky basket gone and now a nice new blanket.

Routines!

We two are very much creatures of routine I suppose. We get up at roughly the same time each day, tend to do the same sort of things, enjoy our morning coffees and a biscuit and so on etc., Doesn't really matter very much except when the routine gets changed. Since i had a sort of blip some weeks ago when it all changed. We still do roughly the same sort of things but a bit differently these days. Matters to no-one really  just that I haven't been up in the afternoon to do my blog as i alwaysw used to so have got out of the habit of writing one. Just doesn't seem the same writing it in the morning really.
Big news... Shoes!!! I am finally after all the months and mnths of foot surgeries and podiatry treatments they finally put shoes and slippers onmy feet last week. makes such a difference from the ortho shoes that I seem to have been wearing for ever.  I now have very funny looking feet, toes off all over the place, and wobbly big toes but at least i still have them, and now in shoes and slippers. Big thanks to Mr Butcher and bigger thanks to the podiatry team for tending them for solong.
Vin has and is still wonderful, so appreciated, Hedoes things that no-one should have to do and without complaint either, maybe the occasional grunt or sigh but who can blame him.
He has gone off to Tesco this morning todo some stocking upof the basics he said we didn't need much so hven't used the coupon that they sent us this time, he used that last week.  He did a lovely mac and cheese last night, very tsty it was too, really enjoyed that.Beginning to get a taste for food again now, after a while, and that was lovely.
Little Jessie tends to stay downstairs mostly except in the morning if she is really hungry then she will come up and get him she never comesup to see me. not like lovely Rusty who used to come up and jump all over the keyboard and make allthe letters fil the page!!
On her way to get her Daddy!

Monday 16 September 2019

Back To Normal! Almost!

Getting there ,after a dodgy few weeks and a lot of changes in our routines i think we are now getting there a bit. The last "blip" that i had really knocked me for six and took quite a long time to get over. poor Vin, has been an absolute saint, getting me food a making sure that I drink, because to be fair i am not good at drinking, hate water and will sip at orange, but don't drink loads like you are supposed to really. very naughty.

Podiatry each week, as usual, mostly at two in the afternoon or thereabouts. and the normal routines otherwise. Tesco on a saturday morning which Vin does with a list normally, and sainsbury's on a Sunday the same. I tend to have a go on the computer while he is doibng that .
Little jessie has had a few visits feom thekitties next door in the garden, not6 that she notices at all. They have sort of become closer enough to touch noses maybe but I don't Jessie tolerates other cats she has always been used to being on her own and with her Daddy!
Where are they?

Sunday 8 September 2019

Here Again!

Not been on for a while, just couldn't summon up enough energy for ages. having a go today to catch up for a whie.
Seemed to get a bit of a blockage thing going some wweeks ago, and this one really knocked me for six in bed for quite a few days and then slowly started to get on. Vinhas been absolutely completely wonderful, cooking clening doing the washing and everything else too. Amazing man!!
Big thing happened last week, we had a new tumble drier delivered and fitted. We had a Hotpoint machine which was one of those which had been recalled by the government by order, and weopted for an updated machine for £99 extra. It is slightly bigger than our old one so that is a bonus, and Vin reckons it is really good.So that was really good.
Brexit is STILL rearing its ugy head, It is all a real miss, we have buffoon Boris, Activist Jeremy people leaving partie3s all over town, just a total mess. God knows who to vote for next time.
Vin has gone off t Sainsburys this morning to get some bits, he went to Tesco yesterday to do a bigger shop because we had a good voucher off £70 ten pounds off that is a good saving so he topped up.
Jessie has been having visitors little jack the kitten from next door has been inonce or twice, she tends to run a mile if she spots him big wuss that she is. Poor little girl she is used to being on her own with her daddy!
Saying goodbye to the ld machine!

Thursday 29 August 2019

Hello Again!

Been a while. Off the computer for some days due to illness, a pesky blockage whichlasted for some time and really wiped me out this time. Up a few days ago and went on the computer for a short while to check things out then downstairs till early bedtime. Wiped out with that.
Out yesterday because I had an appointment at the podiatry clinic, and also had to get a blood test for the renal clinic. Parked on the top floor of the car park  and Vin went to geet a chair so he could wheel me to the bloodsuckers. Only one man waiting so went straight in, lovely, one job done. Then down to podiatry where we had quite a wait, but they were short staffed and they are lovely so you can never comlain.
Out of there and a wheel back to the car park. Thank you Vin. Home for a bit of lunch. Been raining all day yesterday horrible day actually.
Today up earlyish, we were having a new Hotpoint tumble drier fitted because ur old one had been one of the ones recalled on government orders. We had a choice of a repair, a refund,  a new machine or an upgrade for £99 extra, which we went for. Since we have had the old machine for four years we selected the up grade which ahs just been delivered and fitted. Text to say it was coming and another to say it was in the area, a;; done and dusted within an hour.
In the middle of all that we have had a wedding anniversary, Vin's birthday, Jane's birthday, phew. Just put some moneyinJane's bank for her which no doubt she will squirrel away. Happy birthday sweetheart!
Jessie hasn't missedme at ll. Never been up toseemen bed except when Vin brought her up, but couldn't get off the bed quick enough!
Looks so sweet, but a little minx really!

Tuesday 13 August 2019

Two Days In!

Monday and Tuesday both in. We don't normally go out on a Monday anyway, but Vin didgo off to Formby this morning. He needed to get a hair cut because it was growing over his collar and getting very long.  He hates waiting in a queue so if there is anyone waiting he will go off, and when he rang up he said he'd had it done in Freshfield because there was only one man there and he was going. In the end he got it done really quickly, . He was going off to Tesco to see if they had a lattice pie.
They didn't, but he did get a nice Quorn steak pie for himself. some green beans and a macaroni cheese. Nothing for Jessie, who has been in the front room most of the morning just  appearing at lunchtime for a sit on her daddy's knee, her preferred spot. She doesn't seem to use her basket these days, either goes in the front room or on her daddy.  She came upstaairs to our bedroom last night, and settled on his front. He was tickling her chin and top of her head when she started to go for him, so he said to me do you want to stroke her? No! but I waited a few minutes and then did and she let me, but not for long.
Nice and sunny now really quite bright in the middle room where the computer is, and it is quite warm now.
Is that my cream cake appearing?  Out in the sunshine but keeping an eye on what is going on too!

Friday 9 August 2019

Supposed To Be Blowy!

Today according to the weather people, and to be fair it was dull when we woke up, but I wouldn't exactly say it was very windy like they sid it was going to be yesterdsy. Quite humid and a little bit breezy, but nice and sunny now. It was raining a bit ago but didn't last long.
We had a little visitor today! Vin was playing with Jack in the garden this morning, and he brought him upstairs to see me. he is the sweetest looking little kitty I have seen, his little face is gorgeous, and Vin says he is as light as a feather to carry. He was playing in our garden with a little ball that had a hole in it . Reminded me of our Rusty who just loved doing that and would chase one for ages in the kitchen where we have a tiled floor.
Jessie was hiding somewhere because Vin was vacuuming the carpet upstairs, none of our cats have got on with the vacuum, and they all would scatter when doing that.  She didn't see little Jack or I think she would have disappeared.
He's coming for you! No not realy, your Daddy wouldn't do that!

Thursday 8 August 2019

Two Days Worth!

Yesterday was an appointment at the podiatry clinic to red the dressings on my feet.  It was an afternoon one so we had our coffee and then got ready to go. Got there in good time, a little bit worried because the receptionist couldn't find me on their computer, but when she went to check it hadn't been entered but was on the podiatry diary so it was ok. Got me a bit concerned though.
Feet quite quickly done and we were home for lunch.
Jane was on an eight to eight day so rang up when she was on her way home. She is on nights tonight so rings up earlier on her way to work.  She quite often goes somewhere to get her dinner before she goes in to work.
Today  we have stayed in which we tend to do after going for an appointment. Vin did the ironing this morning, and saw the little kittens from next door in our garden. The boy one Jack lay down on our flags looking very laid back. He held our jessie up to the window in the extension, and she hissed like mad he said. What a wuss, the little cat is only  tiny and she is about four times bigger! She could eat him for breakfast!
Lovely and sunny again today and quite warm, no wind to speak of.  Jessie is in the front room out of the way now. No doubt she will surface when it is cream cake time. Today is the last for the week so no more till Monday!
Any kitties out there? get off my territory!

Tuesday 6 August 2019

In Again!

But thats ok with us, especially with the hectic week we had last week  with two appointments. We are out tomorrow at Aintree for a podiatry appointment. It is only at two o'clock so at least we don't have to get up with the larks!
The poor little kittens next door have had a tummy bug of some sort so our neighbour says, she had to take them to the vets and they had a shot of some sort. Poor little kitties hope they recover soon.
Our Jane rang up at coffee time, she was on her way to get some light bulbs. She said that they were too dear in Tesco so she was walking to B&M's because they were cheaper there. Poor girl, she always manages to ring up at coffee time, then she complains when her Daddy says in a loud voice "It's coffee time!" He haates having his coffee disturbed. Too bad, I like chatting to Jane and getting her gossip. She is off till tomorrow then she is n an eight to eight day. Such weird shifts, I couldn't keep up with them.
Lovely day today, nice and sunnywith a bit of a breeze. A good drying day today. Yesterday's washing dried beautifully on the line, which saves a load on the tumble drier. We need to look at tumble driers too by the way since ours is one of the ones that has been recalled, and we can have a new one. We need to look at the types of machines though.
Jessie has been up and about today, she flopped down in the middle room so Vin decided to give her a good brush, she likes being brushed ande will quite happily lie there while he does it. Very good she is too. even turns over when he wnts her to. Well done Jessie!
I'm such a good girl that I deserve some cream cake now?

Monday 5 August 2019

On The Line!

In the "olden" days my mum always used to do the washing on a Monday, and the whole house used to smell of washing. Steam everywhere and normally washing draped over clothes maidens and anywhere near the fire.the next day would then be ironing and so the week woud go. No tumble drier, no washing machine much and a mangle.  "The good old days?" Maybe not.
A lovely day today so the washing was put out on the line to dry which saves the tumble drier for one thing, and the sun will dry them beautifully, as long as it doesn't rain. At the moment it is cracking the flags so it looks fine.
No appointments till Wednesday at the podiatry clinic so we stopped in today. The appointment this week is for 3 o'clock so not too bad this week at all.
Jane rang up just before coffee time on her way to Tesco to do some shopping for bits. She ws going to make a pasta bake so she had some meals to take in to work when she does her nights etc., they lookedreally nice, and she sent a picture of what she had for her dinner, looked lovely with the salad on the side.
No little catty visitors around today yet, he thinks that our neighbour has gone out so has probably locked them inside. The little boy cat seems to be a bit of a naughty boy so is better keeping an eye on him.Jessie hasn't been around much either but did come into the middle room at lunchtime. Flopped on the floor and looked very comfortable.
Good news Jessie, Vin got thelastcream cake in Sainsbury's on Sunday. You are fine for this week so far looking good. Thankyou Daddy!

Friday 2 August 2019

Tootsies!!

Up early and off to podiatry at Aintree this morning. Our appointment was for 10.30 but we got going quite quickly so got there about a quarter past. Sat and waited in the foyer area which unusually was fairly quiet. It was the appointment with the doctor which is usually quite a long one so we were  prepared for a wait. It was actually about an hour before we went in, and Helena did my feet today. Saw the Dr who thought the foot that Mr Butcher operated on was looking very good which it is considering it was only done a couple of weeks ago.  Out by around twevish and we went straight home. It was too late to go for a coffee anywhere so it was better to have one at home.
Jessie of course did not move from her perch in the front room, doesn't come to the door to greet you, she isn't that type of cat really.
Our next ddoor neighbour on one side is having a bit of trouble with her little kittens, the ittle boy one got into our garden last night and she rang Vin up to see if he could get him back over the fence. He went into the garden and was thrilled because he came running to him. He now believes he is some sort of cat whisperer because they do seem to go running to him.  This little boy one is a bit mischievous he reckons he has a glint in his eye and is going to be trouble. The little girl one is much quieter. Jessie hasn't  had anything to do with them yet, so not sure how she will react.
Please keep off my patch! No cream cake here, not today anyway.

Thursday 1 August 2019

Quiet Day In !

A lovely quiet day today, mainly because we were out yesterday and Tuesday, and are out at the podiatry clinic tomorrow at Aintree, so we decided to stop in today.
The highlight of today was the delivery of supplies from bullens and also a visit from the little boy cat from next door in our garden. Vin was thrilled because he came up to him Really friendly little cat he is (take note Jessie!), they were both out the two of them the boy and the girl, I think our next door neighbour has her hands full with those two.
Not a lot doing online today either, seems that a lot of people are either away or otherwise occupied.
Very nice day today, sunny and with no rain which is good news especially in the North and Yorkshire areas where there have been flash floods over the last week or so with all of the rain we have had. No sign of it today though beautiful day with the sun cracking the flags as they say.
Little Jessie has been mostly out of the way in the front room, she loves it in there with the cool when the3 sun goes round. She surfaced a while ago for a food break, now has gone back again, she will surface again at cream cake time though!
Working up an appetite for my cream cake later!

Wednesday 31 July 2019

Busy, Busy!

Yesterday, Tuesday we went to Dobbies in the morning, it is getting near the end of the month so we had our vouchers for free coffees to use up before then and we didn't want to lose them. It was a lovely morning too so a really nice day to go.  We got up and going quite early so actually got there quite early too. Had a good look round to see what we wanted to buy then went for our coffees. Vin had a nice Americano ande I had my usual flat white. We take our own biscuits so it is a cheapo drink really, or are we cheapskates. !
Home at lunchtime after buying our cakes and shortbreads etc.,
Today it was another busy day getting up early again because I had an appointment at eleven o'clock with Mr Butchers clinic. It was to remove the dressings change them and take out the stitches.  Very nice wound apparently the stitches came out easily and we didn't wait that long beefore being seen. It was after all a very busy clinic so fair enough.  Vin left me there ande went to park eventually going up to the top floor of the multi storey car park. Mr Butcher is very pleased with it apparently and the best news of all. NO MORE ANTIBIOTICS which is really great. See him in four weeks.
From there Vin wheeled me up to the elective care for a blood test required by the Aranesp  team so they can adjust the dose if required. As we were going out and back to the car we went back to through the day case area so Vin handed in the medicash form for completing. Then back to the car and home for our coffee.
Little Jessie had clearly been asleep in the front room from the time weleft till the time we came home. A nice peceful morning for her then. All she hs to do is get herself going in time to get her cream when we have our cake!
Not long now! Guess what I am dreaming of?

Monday 29 July 2019

Rain Rain Went Away!

Terrible weather yesterday, poured down all day, everywhere was wet. Flooding warnings in operation too, funnyold cuntry, one minute it is boiling hot and the next pouring and much much colder. At least it was easier to sleep at night when the temperature dropped.
We didn't go out today, we don't usually on a Monday, unless it is an appointment somewhere. It looks like we are going to Dobies tomorrow because we have both had hair washes this morning, and we do need to get some of their cakes and other bits. It was too hot to go there last week, we would have been boiled I think. Vin got a nice voucher from them this morning for his birthday for two regular drinks and two slices of tray bake cakes or two biscuits. Very nice of them. Not sure that we will use them tomorrow though because we have this months to use up first, and it is nearly the end of the month.
I got some vouchers from Tesco today too, for money off shopping, the first is for £9 off £60 which is pretty good going, and quite a saving, would certainly buy some coffee pods or other bitas.
Little Jessie just appeared before I came upstairs, lay down on the floor and  let Vin brush her both sides too. She even stuck her bum in the air so he could brush her tail properly too.  Then she went off into the kitchen to use her litter tray with shall we say a very scented result!!!
Just creeping about, looking for cream cake! It is Monday after all!

Friday 26 July 2019

Scorcher!

Again another hot one! it was overcast this morning but the sun is ut now and it is very warm again. Thought the weather people said it ws going to be cooler today but it isn't yet, hopefully it will tonight. Last night was terrible for me anyway, just couldn't get comfy, and then my skin started itching, no idea why, and that woke Vin up, but that made it worse of course. Hope it will be better tonight!
Jane had her eye appointment this morning at the eye hospital near where she works. She rang up later to say that they say the eye is still changing so there wasn't any point in seeing the Dr., and go back in another six weeks which is the 13th of September. That's a shame becaus3e she is dying to get back driving, her little car is sitting outside her house not moving, poor little car.
Haven't seen much of Jessie this morning yet anyway, think she is still in the front room which seems to be favourite at the mment. It is the coolest room in the house after the sun has gone round mis-morning. The back of the house is quite hot until the sun goes down anyway.
No cream cake? Oh dear, don't think I am a happy catty now!!

Thursday 25 July 2019

Odd Weather!

Very odd weather today really, extremely warm overnight, it was hard to get a breeze going not much of a draught coming through the window.  It was one of those nights when you toss and turn and just ass you get to sleep somebody wakes you up to get up. Oh well,no wonder they all have air conditioning in hot places like Australia.  It is their winter there and still pretty warm by the looks of the photos they have posted.
Letter today with an appointment for the dressings clinic for next Wednesday so that has turned up. There are already two further ones for podiatry one on Wednesday and the other on Friday, so we will have to get in touch with them to see what they suggest we do.
Again too hot to go anywhere today, so we stopped in out of the hot sun.  Very thundery here later this morning too, a really big clap of thunder when we were having our coffee which made Jessie lift her head up but she wasn't too botherede unlike some of the cats we have had who wwwould hide under tables in frightBless them!
Next doors have all gone off to Edge Hill for her graduation, hope she iswn't too hot.  It rained n the day when Jane had her graduation but it was a lovely day and we were so proud, and it was so lovely to see all her friends. People she had spoken about on the phone but we had never met.
I hope my cream cake isn't getting too warm and there is a little bit for me!

Wednesday 24 July 2019

Not Another One!!

Probably what the poor Queen is saying at the moment. That woman must have seen so many Prime Ministers in her reign as Queen of our country. Wonder what she thinks of Boris who is the latest!
Way back in 2007 I started this blog which happened to be the first day of Gordon Brown's role as Prime Minister. He took over from Tony Blair and inherited loads of problems at the time. Looks like Boris the Buffoon will do the same. If he thinks it will all go smoothly he will need to think again. Lord knows what he will be like in reality. We shall see!
All going quite well here the foot seems to be doing fine  just at the moment waiting for a letter about the dressing change. Thought it would have been here by now but nothing yet. Patience is a virtue!
Very very warm here today, not quite as hot as yesterday but still pretty hot. Reaching the high twenties today and much higher down south, and they are welcome to it too.
Jessie was out this morning for a bit but not long according to Vin, think it is too warm for her. She is at the moment in the front room which is  bit shadier and cooler. She didn't seem to be worried about the thunder etc last night. I didn't hear anything because I take my hearing aids out at night so am dead to the world. An advantage of being deaf, not that there are many!!
Nice out sunbathing!

Monday 22 July 2019

Melting Monday!

Quiet Monday here at home. It has turned out to be fairly hot today, but the weather people said that it would be and the papers have been warning about a heatwave for the last few days. Seems to be right too this time.
We didn't go out today but Vin did go to Tesco quickly to get a flan for tea. They didn't have any in stock on Saturday and neither did Sainsbury's so he went today instead, and they had lots in stock. They have obviously refilled the shelves. Thank goodness for that.
Jessie has mostly been in the front room this morning, surfacing at lunchtime, ours that is, anyway she was fed then.  Vin said when he went t feed her this morning she just sat there, he put some meat dawn and she looked at it so he put some biswcuits down and she looked at them, then he said "do you want some sprinkles?" and she looked up at him. He put those down and she went for the lot!! What a minx.
Nice day today so it's out for a wander. Cream cake today too!!

Thursday 18 July 2019

Happy Birthday To Me!

I have reached the ripe old age of 73 today!.  Vin was awake this morning just before coffee and biscuit time, and he came back with a lovely orchid plant which is a gorgeous shade of almost terracotta, really unusual, and very pretty. He had also got me a Colony candle which is jasmine and sandalwood flavour. Not a flowery one but a nice scent with the sandalwood overtone. and white colour. I love white candles and this one makes a great change from the clean cotton and baby powder ones.
I also had received a parcel from John and Ann with a jacket in it and a pair of nice dangly earrings, with a card and letter written inside.
Jane rang up mid morning, I thought she would still be in bed but she is on an eight /eight day tomorrow so didn't want to sleep too late otherwise she won't  sleep tonight. She was having a little walk to Tesco to wake herself up a bit for that.
I got a phone call from Aintree as a reminder about tomorrow, as if we had forgotten! We are trying to get through the day a bit quicker today so we can get to bed earlier tonight, because we have to be there for 7.30 in the morning! Oh Dear! it is the worst thing about it all.
Jessie has been in and out today, the kittens next door are going for their operations today for speying etc., poor little things but necessary these days. Then they can be let out after a couple of weeks.
Did somebody say cream cake!  Actually no, because Vin said it is very difficult to get any cream out of this cake, but he did reveal that he bought a pot of creme fraiche  the other day when he was at Sainsbury's !! Lucky Girl!

Monday 15 July 2019

Two Birds With One Stone!

We were up early this mornin g afte4r an early night. Had an appointment at the Pre Op buiding at Aintree, prior to having the foot procedure on Friday. Got there early  actually, and Vin parked in the multi storey on the second floor opposite where we had to go, so very handy.
Didn't wait long and was called in to see the nurse (Linda) Asked all of the usual questions which seemed to take ages but are all necessary I suppose.  Then back to the waiting room and along to get the weight, height, etc done, also blood pressure and swabs as normal. All quite pleasing results. All done then and off to go home.
We did go via Costa though for a lovely flat white, and a salted caramel latte for Vin. I do like my flat whites from there. Quite quiet too, but it was starting to fill up later getting n for lunchtime. Really pleasnt day today, lovely and sunny, with people sitting outside too, but a bit bright for me.
Had a lovely sit and people watch then left for home again.
I wondered if it was a good idea to go to Sainsbury's for a cream cake for Daddy's little princess, so we did. Got there about twelveish, and Vin went inside to get his bits of shopping, he got a pizza for tonight for himself and a salad which was on offer and some veggies for me. Of course a nice cream cake for Jessie.
So a good day today.
Who's a lucky girly then?? Cream cake for tea.

Friday 12 July 2019

The Blip!

Wednesday was an appointment at the podiatry clinic at three o'clock, we got there on time, and it was really busy but not on our side. However, we did have a very long wait because the poor podiatry girl was there on her own. There should have been two of them but one had been on holiday and her flight was delayed so she wasn't in, the other full time one was on holiday so well down. No wonder they were short staffed. By the time we got in it was quite late so we were very late getting home.
Yesterday it was a blip on the computer which saw the screen squashed over to one side so that I coudn't access my details on the top of this post to put a new one in. Hence no blog done.  Nice and bright today but with a couple of little drizzly spots of rain. Vin was keeping an eye on the weather because he had his chair cover on the line where his sweet little cat had chucked up so it needed washing.  Oh the joys of cat ownership!
Jessie was asleep when we got back on Wednesday, hadn't missed us at all I don't think, although she did get up to follow her daddy around to get fed.
I wonder if she was wistfully looking out of the window waiting for her daddy? More like she was asleep all afternoon!

Tuesday 9 July 2019

Getting There!

Do have to say it is nice to be home again. Do have to say I wish we lived in a bungalow though, the stairs are a pain in the neck at the moment, doesn't seem to be the energy ine legs at the moment and with the wrist being a bit on the floppy side it is getting harder to get me upstairs. Good job Vin is there at the back of me to push me upwards!! Great fun!
Yesterday we had an appointment at Aintree this time at the diabetic clinic. It was for one o'clock and we got there on time. Waited for a whie and Vin went ff to park the car. He still had one day on the car park pass as it finished yesterday.  He rejoined me and then I was called into the little room for the usual tests, weight, blood pressure blood test and then out into the waiting area again. While I was having those done Vin was chatting to Helena who gave us an appointment for tomorrow which was a cancellation to have the foot dressed again. Won't be sorry to get these dressings off because my leg is so itchy it is terrible, I think it is the cotton wol that was used makes my skin so itchy. Be glad to get rid of that.
Went in to see the consultant then who went through the usual questions, saw the Head Honcho this time, haven't seen him before,Professor Wilding and really nice he was too. All results were good and he was pleased with them. See them again next year for the next one. Wished him Happy Christmas then off we went.
Vin nipped up to the ward 21 to get my tablets and discharge letter then we went home finally.
Day of today, I hope Vin is having a bit of a breather, he deserves it after all of the running round he has been doing bless him! What a star!
Jessie is ibn her basket at the moment, don't suppose she will go out, she doesn't like getting wet and it has been raining/drizzling off and on all day today.
All curled up and comfy out of the drizzle and next to her Daddy!
