Bank Holiday!

A typical one round here. All is quiet in the village but in the next one thee was trouble on the beach last night by the pine woods or thereabout. Fight on the beach, three people taken to hospital by air ambulance following the fight involving an axe and a large knife. Nice! A planned fight apparently. Anyway the roads to the beach full and the car parks were full by a quarter to ten this morning. Like I said  typical.

All quiet here, we never go anywhere on a Bank Holiday, always prefer to stop in the house. By the looks of the papers very wise too. Jane is on the first of her two days today, she has a lady coming in to see to the cats, and have a bit of a play with them. She got rid of the ivy from round her front door yesterday, that was a really good job, it was growing like mad. Horrible stuff, goes everywhere, then she was left with a mud pile so had to go off and buy a brush! The joys of owning a house. I think it is all looking good now, she is beginning to enjoy being there.

We have had loads of pictures of her two cats ipsy and Dipsy and when i can get vin to loadsojeon here i will add them. Till then it will be our Jessie! Funny this morning she was on her Daddy's front for ages, it was dark and he was fast asleep.Didn't wake up either. i was stroking her and she was nuzzling my hand.  Aaah!!

Having a restful day!

Friday D-Day

Or should i say C-Day because today is the day our jane is getting a delivery of two cats from the RSPCA. They are called Ipsy and Dipsy and are dark torties, and really pretty. She now has her house, all of her furniture which was delivered yesterday  the catties arriving later today. Good luck Jane you deserve it all. , all that had work and saving was worth it.

Yesterday was a bit of a sad day because it was the funeral of one of our neighbours, funeral at the local church but invitation only because of the Covid numbers, Vin went round to wait on the bridge as  a mark of respect. He was a lovely man, and had a good turn out.

Weather has picked up a bit, after a month of cool and wet weather it is cleaaring up a bit. We now have blue skies, and the sun breaking through. Bank holiday coming up this weekend so it will be seen what happens to the virus spread in a couple of weeks time.

 Sharing a good read!

Monday,Tuesday nd Wednesday!

Monday was a NHS day. Started out with Mark coming to do the toe which will not heal. He dressed it again and it seems to be doing fine so he will come next Tuesday because Monday is bankholiday again. Then a bit ater on in the morning it was off to Aintree for a blood test. That is done at a drive in centre a bit away from the hospital and you just stick your arm out of the car window and she does the blood test and you are off. Only takes about five minutes and no parking fees which is great, our appointment was for 12.10 and we were a bit early but still done. Home for coffee because it is still a bit dodgy having coffee out yet.

Tuesday was a bit of a washout, woke up feeling decidedly off colourso spent the dday in bed on Horlicks and the odd biscuit. Slept quite a lot of the day and recovered a bit by the evening. Vin was really good bringing me things upstairs bless him. No sign of Jessie she stayed well out of the way downstairs. Lovely company!

Wednesday back to normal,up as usual, had my pills and some cornflakes so ok with them. Had a good night's sleep even though we went to sleep quite early, and all fine . Vin has just come back from Tesco which is his normal day so that is good, we had been running out of things apparently.

Hello here I am. I need feeding when you are ready of course.

Midweek!

Another Wednesday and another trip to Tesco for the lord and master! It seems to be a good day to go there and not too busy. Armed with his list he narmally gets top up shopping of things that have run out.

Discussion on the radio about going on holiday to countries abroad. There are red amber and green countries apparently. Those that are on the red lists are the countries with high instances of the virus are clearly the red ones. Must be very difficult for travel agents, tour operators and hospitality in the holiday industry.   Apparently there is a lot of confusion and also the fact that the status might change at any time too. Don't think I would fancy being on a plane at the moment with hundreds of other people at the moment.

Nice bright day today, blue skies no clouds but a bit breezy. Strange to see the skies with not jet plane trails. However, apparently the airports are getting going again a small amount. There was news coverage of the airports with slow moving passengers.

Jessie is very firmly stopping here with her Daddy. Looking forward to seeing pictures of Ipsy and Dipsy the two catties that jane is going to see on Sunday.

Sad!

We lost one of our neighbours last Friday. He lived next door but one to us and was a lovely man who sadly passed away with bowel cancer. He had been diagnosed with it last year and had a variety of treatments but sadly passed away on Friday.

Today was our Mark day and he came ths morning, Jessie was downstairs but did her usual running up the stairs as soon as the doorbell went. he was a bit later than usual came at around 10.30 instead of nine thirty but he must have been busy. He has packed the toe which is refusing to heal over properly and will be back next week. We had been down to every fortnight so one step back a bit. Jessie get ready for next Monday! He had a bit of sad news too, he had had to have his old dog put down last week and that was very sad for that family. Apparently they had him for 14 years which is a big part of your life.

Some easing of the lockdown rules today, hospitality centres can open for meals inside, and other establishments can open for business.  Notice there was an email from Dobbies to say their cafe is open again for coffees etc., so maybe one day we will venture out, although it is still around this pesky virus ,not gone away completely  at all. The one that is the worry now is the Indian varient which is causing the most trouble.

Jane is getting her little house together bit by bit. She got a mattress for thelittle single bed delivered on Saturday so if necessary she could always sleep there. All of her things are over there now, including her television and bookcase, clothes etc., and she is getting furniture delivered later on this month. Think she is planning for us to go over on the 5th of June which will be lovely, her daddy can take some of his tools and do things like hang some of her nice pictures for her. Can't wait to see her house.

Jessie is still under the bed which is unusual because she has normally come out by now, once Mark has gone she reappears. Doesn't like to be away from her daddy for too long!

Where is he? I might want feeding again!

What Is It Going To Do?

Yesterdaywas a strange day  indeed. Started off very bright andlooking good then  towards the afternoon the skies darkened and the Heavens opened. And did they open somebody up there must have been very annoyed. We had thunder, lightning and the torrential downpour of rain. Lasted a while then went away. Very odd weather patterns indeed. Very sadly a nine year old boy was struvck by lightning up the coast towards Blackpool, only playing football in a coaching session.  So sad for the parents.

We were in yesterday, nothing on our list this week we have a relatively free week for a change. Vin unpackedthe new pillows we have bought and put the pillow protectors on and the new pillowcases. They are now ready for the bed when the washing is done. Must admit they look great nice and plump, not like the ones we have on at the moment.

Jane is having a busier day today because she is getting quotes for her alarm and also blinds for some of the windows. Bit by bit it all seems to be coming together for her. Must be exciting building a home from scratch. Nice tos tart everything new.

Jessie is having a nice quiet restful week except that the doorbell went at 7.30 this morning! A delivery man with a parcel "is this number nine?"  Grrr!

Who is that waking me up? Plus point though he will feed me now!

Monday 10 May 2021

Nice Ordinary Week !

The only thing we were waiting for this week was a parcel from QVC with a set of pillows I had ordered which had been on their TSV. They were according to the emails with the courier and then he was at the door delivering it.  So that is it for this week for deliveries I think.

No Mark today he is due next week we have a break. No blood tests or anything either. A real break! The weather is not very May like, it has been quite cold really over the last week or so, not a lot of sunshine warmth very bright and sunny looking but cold in the meantime.

Jane's house is coming on at a pace now and I think she is finally enjoying putting it together after all of the stresses and strains of actually buying it which was really stressful. She now has furniture bought and being delivered towards the end of May, she is buying things as and when she needs them which is lovely. It is so nice seeing it all come together for her.

Our Jessie was a bit confused this morning, I wonder if she was expecting Mark when she heard the doorbell? she was beginning to run up the stairs but it was only the delivery. Nobody to invade her space. little did she know that yesterday Jack from next door came visiting. She was upstairs asleep on Jane's bed so he had free rein of downstairs. A big boy he is now, quite a big chunky cat is Jack.

 Hark wgo do I hear?

Early Up!

We were up and at em quite early this morning, the reason being I had an appointment to get my bridge refitted in my mouth at the dentists. Good thing is that it involves no travelling because our dentist is two doors down! That's handy. My bridge fell out during last week but today was the first appointment. Glad it is back in again. Nice and firm.

Mark came yesterday and he is not due for two weeks again so that is good. Toe is healing nicely. Today Vin packaged up the birthday parcel for Ann in Australia,  I got her a nice top from Quacker Factory, and a book, The Darkest Evening by Ann Cleeves, I am reading it at the moment on my kindle and really enjoying it, resisted looking at the ending in the book!  It is a very good read by a very clever author. Love the Vera series and you can imagine the characters as they are in the book. Brought to life beautifully by the actors on the screen.

Vin was in the middle room with me doing the packing of said parcel when little Jessie ran out from under the bed where she was hiding. Wonder if she thought that because we were up early that Mark was coming again? What a little character.

Funny weather today, very bright and sunny but also cold too. When we came out of the dentist it went extremely dark, looking like heavy rain or hailstones but nothing much happened. Cleared up again and now it is sunny again and blue skies! What a country.

Jessies "house and garden" taken at Christmas.  It is still there just gets moved into the kitchen when Mark comes on a Monday!

Monday 3 May 2021

Brrr!

Bank Holiday monday today and as normal it isn't very warm in fact it is decidedly cold. Notice next door neighbours have stam blowing out of their boiler so they must have  their heating on. Don't blame them. We have had our fires going for the last few nights, very welcome they are too.Supposed to be windy and rainy today but not much sign ofthat yet, although yes it is cold.

Last night along with 13million others we watched the final episode of "Line iof Duty" been a very good series with the actors doing it justice.  They appear to have retired Ted Hastings one of the maun characters, aaah sorry about that I loved him and his Jesus Mary Joseph and the wee donkey phrases he used in the show.

Vin is doing it yourself this morning, the main light on the landing which is a spotlight had all but given up the ghost really, with one bulb continually going off and on so we decided to bite the bullet and get another one. He ordered it from  Argos and you can pick it up locally which he did yesterday at Sainsbury's.  it is a nice Phillips one with three spotlights, and he reckons it is extremely well made. He is fixing that up now, with his cordless power drill and his little helmet with the light on Bless him.  He is so good at fixing things.

Our Jane is busy getting organised in her house. She has bought loads of things, all the furniture for the bedroom and sofas and a footstool for her living room. She already had quite a lot of kitchen things, like the microwave, kettle toaster  and also ordered the washing machine and tumble drier for delivery later this month when she is off.  Her shifts are awkward this month so everything has to be organised round them. I think she is getting more excited now she can see the light at the end of the tunnel. She has worked so hard for what she has bless her it islovely to see how she is growing and as she says doing her adult things!

Jessie can have a breather from Mark today because he is coming tomorrowwith it being ban holiday. Up early tomorrow then and she will get wind of what s going on when the vacuum comes out to do the floor.

Very appealing picture of said catty.  Won't belong before our Jane gets one I hope, a nicelittle catty on a nice red blanket with it's name on. Aaah!
