Kidnapped Again!!

Went for a routine podiatry appointment on the Thursday before Easter and they wouldn't let me go. My foot was red and swollen and the ulcer unerneath was infectedso they thought it best to get me in to treat with IV antibiotics. So back on ward 21 as usual, with friendly faces to greet me. Ten days later and my consultant let me home yesterday with oral antibiotics three capsules a time four times a day. Who's rattling then?
The worst thing was that a few days before the podiatry I had a fall in the bedroom and hit my front against the edge of the bed which is wooden, so movement is very difficult. I did have an x-ray on my chest while in Aintree and do have a fractured sternum  so that explains why it is so painful. Nothing to do for it though just wait for it to heal about seven to ten weeks!! What a pain!
Vin has been wonderful, visiting every dayand organising what I needed, bringing the papers and sandwiches to keep me going. What a star!Of course the parking and the petrol has gone up, so have the mileage on his car, but I should get some money from Medicash so will use that to offset that a bit.
Nice greeting from Jessie when I got home, just about raised her head! Typical. What a character!
Who are you again?

Don't Know About Spring!

Nope don't realy know about Spring, but the weather people are all saying that we are due for some very warm weather by the end of the week. It doesn't feel very warm today though, overcast and grey looking with a good sprinkling of rain for good measure. Jane rang up this morning on her way to the shops and she said it was just beginning to drizzle there too but not enough  to get her wet.  She was off to the Subway to get some lunch and the roll would also do for her tea as well. All good.
Vin had gone off to Formby to get his tooth repaired and get a couple of things from Tesco, like Sprinkles for his princess!  I was telling Jane that and she said a girl can't do without her sprinkles! Perhaps not.
We didn't go out today, or at least I didn't, the bone at the front is still very sore but no doubt it will improve intime. Jessie has been in mostly, all curled up in her basket. As long as she is next to her daddy she is very happy, just stretching now and then and waiting for a tickle.
She puts her paw out to him when she wants a bit of notice. Very cute!

Bugs!!!

Don't know where they come from but when they hit they really hit! Mine was a sort of 48hour one which knocked me out making you very tired and sleepy. Nothing else too bad fortunately except that on Thursday night I had a bit of a fall while coming from the landing into the bedroom. Must have fallen awkwardly onto the side of the bed and felt something crack in my front so now every time I make a move it hurts. No doubt in time it will clear up just a tad painful while it does. Stop moaning Jenny.
Very bright out today but Vin says it is quite cold, the weather people say we are due for  some much warmer weather over Easter though, we shal have to wait and see what transpires.
Easter Sunday next Sunday, seems to have come round very quickly, happens all of a sudden, we have the National, won by Tiger Roll, the Oxford and Cambridge boat race, won by Cambridge, then woof it is Easter. The children appear to have been of f for the last week or so, so it is busier round and about. The Easter Eggs are sellng well anyway!
Little Jessie is basking in ....her basket! Where else would she be? apart from pestering her Dady for sprinkles to go on her food that is!
I'm getting a bit peckish now, is it cream cake time?

Tootsies!

I had an appointment at Aintree for one o'clock, so it was a case of up and get going this morning. Just a matter of moving things along a bit but that was quite easy. Early breakfast, early coffee and we were ready.
His car turned a bit of a milestone today, it did 30,000 miles today on the way home. which is good going really. He doesn't do a big mileage exactly!
Really lovely and sunny today, Jane has just rung up from Manchester where she had been to get some new glasses from Specsavers. She is in a health scheme so wanted to get some before the end of the month before the allowance ran out.
Vin was outside with Jessie this afternoon, she was out in the sunshine for about fifteen minutes which is good for her, she must have been enjoying herself.
I'll race you down for the cream cake. Bet I'm quicker!

Quiet Today!

Nice and sunny today, the weather does seem to be warming up, but having said that, the weather forecaster at lunchtime did say it was going to be cooler tonight. So you never know.
The OH was ironing this mrning, he said that there was a lot of it, mainly because of the bedding from last week. It is also the brown bin week so he was going round collecting any packaging for that. Amazing where it comes from it sometimes seems that he appears with a big bag of it surprising where it comes from.
Jessie hasn't moved much today, up and down a little bit,and Vinsaid she went out for a bit too. Not for long though I think she is more of an indoor bird, or maybe it is that she doesn't want to stray far from her "boyfriend".
Just posin!! And waiting for my daddy to feed me with cream cake!

Easy Peasy!

This morning we had decided to go into Formby for a blood test at the clinic.  The surgery over the way wouldn't leave it so it has to be done.  We left and there was a back up on the by-pass but clear our way so an easy journey into Formby. For once there were few cars in the parking area at the clinic which was a real bonus, and when we got inside the health centre there were only two people waiting and they were for someone else, so the nurse called me in straight away. Couldn't believe it immediate service.! Got the bloods done then off out to an empty waiting room!!
Left there and went to Waitrose where Vin went in to get some of our favourite coffee biscuits, we don't get them very often because we don't normally go to Waitrose! Too snooty for us. It is a very expensive store though.  Then he went over the road to Specsavers and got my hearing aid batteries, so I am nicely stocked up now, just as well because during our coffee I heard the familiar very annoying jingle  that they play when the batteries are running out.
Nice coffees at home, Vin had said that there were only three people in the Waitrose cafe, not as busy now since they stopped giving free coffees! Not surprising really.
The by-pass wasn't too bad on the way home, it was down to one lane because they were cutting the grass in the middle but the traffic was moving so all good.
Little Jessie was round and about when we got home, and Vin said she had a bit of a play, then went out for a little while, then came in and had a bit more of a play, and that was it. In her basket then tired out! What a good life!
Worn out now, but I might just wake up in time for a little bit of cream cake later!

A Cool National?

I wonder if it will be a cold Grand National this year. Over at Aintree it is Ladies Day when the girlies are out in all their finery and fancy hats. I think they might get blown about today though. It is a little brighter but still cold, or at least I think it is, but then I am always cold so that's nothing to go by!
Vin is far hardier and often goes for a walk round the block to see what is going on, still has his coat on though!
We are in today, Vin is finishing the loads f washing off and I have been browsing on here, not that there is a lot going on .. Nothing happening either, very quiet, with a bit of post but again nothing important. Very little online either, a real end of week feeling.
Jessie has been asleep most of the morning, just got up a little at lunchtime had a bit of a stretch then went back again. A lovely life she has!
No phone call from our Jane think ske is holed up in her room with nice comfort things getting over the eye procedure.
I love this one of Jessie and Vin, but no amount of rubbing up to him will get any cream cake today, all gone. She will have to wait till Monday now.

Thursday 4 April 2019

Brrr!

The day started off beautifully, sunny and bright, but as the day progressed it gradualy got duller and rainier and Vin said it was sleeting at one point. It got so cold that he decided that we would have soup for lunch so we did and it was lovely too. Carrot and coriander Heinz I think, with a few croutons and a slice of toast.   Mmmm. It is the Grand National meeting starting today too, I hope some of the girls have their thermals on or they will be wall to wall goosebumps.
Planning permission has been granted for the L37 music festival on the outskirts of the village. It doesn't seem to be very popular with the people on facebook though. Wonder why?
Not out today, Vin has done the bedding, so lovely fluffy quilt tonight. Nothing going out one line today though, it will be a tumble dryer job.
Jane rang up this morning after she had her eye done. She was having the Botox in her eye muscle which she has had done before but it didn't work. All fingers crossed that it works this time. She had just got home and was going to have some comfort food, chilli mac/n/cheese and a doughnut from Lidl's with Nutella in it. Enjoy my lovely!
Jessie is fast asleep in her basket, Vin reckons she is lovely and warm and giving off some good heat.  The last of the cream cake today too so storing up some energy for that.
Cosy!!!

Normal Day!

Just a nice normal day today. We stayed in of course, we are out tomorrow at a podiatry appointment so it was hair washing this lunchtime so it isn't too fluffy. Not that anyone notices really but never mind.
Vin has been bin filling today because it is grey bin this week, so he has been going round collecting all the rubbish from the house.  He usually checks the fridge and freezer but he has that off to a fine art now and doesn't waste much at all. Good job Vin.
Jessie has been in today, funny day for weather , very sunny when we woke up, then went cloudy and we actually had a sleety shower later. Sunny again and it has now gone a bit cloudy again, according to the weather girl we are in for some cold weather again. Forecast for rain tomorrow.  We shall have to wait and see.
Lovely lot of cream in this weeks cream cake. They spared me a little bit of it too!

Monday 1 April 2019

April Fools!

Monday today so we are in as usual.  Another month appreaching so Hairs and Rabbits as we say in our house.Vin was looking in the paper for their usual silly story and spottedthe one in the Mail which showed a cat flap being put into 10 Downing Street for their cat. Or maybe not!!!
Jessie wasn't very impressed anyway. Two phone calls today this morning from the Asian call centre types, one went off as soon as we picked up, the other was a survey but Vin gave them short shrift, and cut them off. Don't know why they bother, they must know by now we do not answer or get anywhere. Then Jane rang up at lunchtime saying she had her hair cut. It was really long for her anyway and is so thick it must have taken a heck of a lot of cutting. the poor woman who did it must have taken an age. Should be nice and tidy now and out of her eyes. She had also been to the Lidl's so had got some bakery things for food. Their bakery section looks lovely  and she says they are always fresh. Shame we don't have one near us, but there again maybe not!
Vin did his good deed for the day today, he found a gold earring on the pavement outside the Dentist's this morning, and was going to put an advert in the shop window because it was a gold hooped one, but the owner of it had rung up the dentist and the girl from there had gone to the shop to ask. Anyway it all got back to Vin and he handed it in to the dentists and so it was repatriotated. Good outcome for someone.
Jessie has had a normal day today, a bit of this and that, and is now asleep in her basket waiting for her cream cake!
I hope it doesn't look like this! I'm sure it doesn't.
The babies!!
