Another Scorcher !

Another very warm day today. Thankfully last night it seemed to cool down quite a bit so we both got a good night's sleep. Makes a difference when you aren't boiling hot and tossing and turning.
Since we have had quite a busy  week this week we stopped in tday. Vin wanted to go through his papers and sort stuff out and I was upstairs on the computer. Which, I might add is fairly slow today, Vin said his netbook was too so there is something going on somewhere.  Not a lot going online so I wonder if everyone is just stopping in out of the heat.  Certainly too hot to be in the garden where it is absolutely blazing !
Little Jessie was  out in the garden this morning while it was still fairly normal, and Vin said she finds nice little places to shelter under Bless her ! The front rom seems to be a very favourite spot at the moment, it is nice and shaded in there and quiet as well, the only noise is the traffic going past which isn't too bad anyway.
Look at that little face! She is a very pretty cat. No cream cake today though, sorry Jessie !

What a Relief!

Monday was the Diabetic clinic, went very well absolutely no problems at all . That was good.  Tuesday was a free day which was good because it is so hot at the moment you don't want to go anywhere. Yesterday it was the weekly visit to the podiatry clinic all good on that front too, foot redressed and the other one which is in shoe and slipper is doing fine so that was great.
Today was a visit to the dentist. I have had a loose tooth at the back left of my mouth which has been niggling away for months and months. kept putting it off and off  until it was getting really bad, so went and made an appointment with the dentist for a look see. That was today and when he saw it he decided it had to come out. I wasn't complaining about  that. The worst thing was the injections actually, the tooth came out very easily, must have been hanging in there. Bye bye tooth !
Really scorching today again. Last night was terrible so uncomfortable really warm you couldn't get cool at all. Even with both windows open there was no breeze to cool the air.  Much the same today I don't think it is quite so blazing but still very warm indeed. Probably in for another warm night tonight.
Little Jessie has mostly been in the front room while it is hot.  Vin said she was out for a bit this morning but is now in the front room.  He says she doesn't like noises so anyone mowing a lawn  would send her flying in.  Even birds squawking verhead would frighten her. Aaah!
Little prowl in the sunshine !

Tuesday 26 June 2018

Phew!

Day off today, nothing to do and nowhere to go either. Nice for a change.
Very very hot today, in fact the paper this morning says it is hotter than Africa! hard to believe, must be true if the papers say so!
Little Jessie has been most of the day in the front room which is cooler being in the shade, the back of the house is scorching getting the sun from late morning all afternoon then.  Vin says it is too hot to go outside. I am presently  in the middle room upstairs which is really warm, but the blind is very gently blowing so there must be a little bit of a breeze. Trouble is that when a window is open flies get in and they drive vin mad, he cannot rest till it has gone or been squashed. One came in here this morning while he was up here and it took an age to get out of the window. Pesky things.
Don't think little Jessie has been out this afternon, but he says she was out this morning for about twenty minutes. She is a good girl and only stayed in the garden, never strays away from the house. Aaah!
Don't think she wuld go out there this afternoon, Vin has just come in and said it is too hot.!

N.H.S. !

It was a N.H.S. sort of day today.  Started off with an appointment at Aintree in the Diabetic clinic at one o'clock. Funny going there today because it is where the podiatry clinic is also . Since I go there we are used to seeing people waiting in the other area to be called to the various sections, but that was us today!. We got there on time and I had a word with Laura who is more used to me signing in for the podiatry. Sat down and waited for Vin who came back really quickly, parked on the second level. Called in  to get my weight done, blood pressure sample given and then through for a blood test. All done. Sit in the waiting area again and we were called in by Dr Allen who we saw a year ago today. She was very pleased with the results so far, and everything seems to be steady. I think normally they would have discharged me but she said that with the other things going on they would still keep me on and see me in another year.  So I said Happy Christmas and off we went.
We were wending our way home and going via the garden centre over the way, Vin had his card for two free coffees so we went there for those. Lovely little cups of Illy coffee, only small and just right.  Sat there for a while but wouldn't sit in the same places again they were really hard, like sitting against a ruler !
Home for around ten to four so we did very well. Went via the dentist's too because I have a loose back tooth which has been a bother for months and months but I have been putting it off. So I went in to make an appointment to get that done and it is ten to  twelve on thursday. We have got an appointment on Wednesday for podiatry so it is a bit of a N.H.S. week this one.
Little Jessie greeted her daddy with a lovely set of miaows when we got home. It's great the way she does that, no doubt she wanted food but it was still lovely.
Following Daddy. !

Yesterday's Post !

Today, Saturday for a change.  Reason is that by the time we got back from Aintree and had a bit of lunch neither of us felt like moving so we didn't. It is the getting up early that does it, we ain't used to it!
It was a ten o'clock appointment at Aintree so it was an early get up to begin with, got there on time and then waited for about forty minutes before going in with Jo. It was a day to see the Dr., and also to take my orthoepaedic shoes to make sure that they fit correctly. There was a trainee orthotist in the room with us to start with, very fit he was too! Jo, and a Doctor who arranged for an x=ray to make sure everything is going well. Room was packed for a time, so many people looking at my little tootsies. Finally left there with my left shoe re-instated and a podiatry shoe on the other. Off to x-ray then home again. We did go via the Costa coffee shop in the retail park first though where Vin had a nice coconut latte and I had a flat white.  Really nice they were too.
Then home. Bit of lunch and Vin had a nice doze in the afternoon which he needed after getting up early with the cat!
Watched the final of Countdown which was one of the best we have seen in years, and the right one won a lad called Zarte, the first winner in a wheelchair I should think. Well done Zarte.
Little Jessie had not moved I don't think from when we left the house till when we came home again. She clearly had a nice little nap without being disturbed.
Home again with my Daddy !

In Again!

Sorry Vin, you must be getting bored by now. Should have married some nice blonde bit !  Since we are out tomorrow at ten o'clock it will be an early start, but hopefully, fingers crossed we will get done quickly aqnd then get a nice coffee afterwards.  Trouble is you can never tell when you go there to the podiatry Aintree. Sometimes  you go there and are seen really quickly, but the last time we had an early appointment  we had to wait for an absolute age so by the time we got in it was too late to go anywhere. We ended up coming home for our lunch, so we shall wait and see.
Weather a bit changeable today now very nice and sunny, and Jane has just rung and said it was quite hot there.  Jessie was out this morning, for a short time, Vin says she gets spooked easily. So runs inside quickly !
Is it safe or will I get attacked ?

Wednesday 20 June 2018

Gobby!

A changeable day today. Started off quite blowy and overcast but it cleared up as the morning went on. Now as I type this it is really sunny outside and Vin has just gone round pulling blinds down. You just never know where you are these days.
I have had a bit of a sore mouth for the last few days, no idea why just appeared. like little ulcers on my tongue and my lips. Quite painful, especially when you have a hot drink.  Vin went over the road to the ever helpful pharmacist and she suggested a type of mouthwash  which coats the mouth and makes it better hopefully. So far I have  had two doses and it does feel a bit easier.
Little Jessie has been knocked out! No not literally, Vin took his socks off and she flopped down and fell over. Really made us laugh!
The new drug ! Daddy's socks !

Tuesday and In !

We seem to be hibernating these days but no matter, makes a change from constantly gong to appointments.
Not a brilliant day today a bit cloudy, and there is nothing on television apart from sport! Football on one tennis on another and racing on the third. Barely anything to watch while we have our lunch. Oh well never mind eh!
Our Jane  rang up just before we were going to have our coffee this morning. She was on her way to the Trafford Centre in manchester to the John Lewis to get a new lap top. She reckoned her old one was really on its last legs and was about to give up the ghost.  I happened to be on the computer upstairs so I put a payment into her band for the right money. Ah well it's only money and she works really hard she deserves it.  She rang up again later to say that they didn't have one on show but they had one downstairs so she bought one.  I expect she is getting it going as I type this.
Little Jessie is wandering around as usual. Vin tried putting her on my lap but she was struggling as soon as he did that. When she jumped off I said that I told him she would never go on me and he said I was giving up the wrong vibes!  None of our other cats had any problems with my "vibes".  never mind !
Little miss snooty!  Giving me "The Evils!"

Monday 18 June 2018

Not Out !

In today we don't tend to go anywhere on a monday unless it is an appointment somewhere which is very rarely. Vin wanted to sort some papers out because they tend to mount up .
I seemed to develop a bit of a bug type thing on Friday night one of those shivery things and Saturday all I wanted to do was sleep it off all day. Sunday started recovering quite well. Strange those buggy things, they really knock you out then you recover. Today fine.
Jessie didn't come up to see me at all. Nice. I think I might stop paying for her food and cat litter etc., maybe not. I like to keep Vin happy !!!
She was out this morning relaxing in the garden and kept coming in to see what Vin was doing. It's lovely the way she follows him around, she will sit on him for ages at night before she jumps down to go down to her basket.  Never been on me though, she is the only cat we have ever had who hasn't done that.  She is certainly a one man cat!
Where's my daddy ?

What a Difference in a Day!

Yesterday very blowy but sunny and bright with it. Today very dull and certainly a lot cooler. Every time I put my thinner pyjamas on it goes cooler. Never know what to wear these days.  However I have bought another pair of ones from QVC which are warmer but not as thick as the ones I wear in the winter so might try those .
We stayed in today because neither of us actually wanted to go anywhere. The only thing we would have gone out for would have been a coffee somewhere and we do have the Tassimo at home which makes fantastic coffee so why go out and waste money? Maybe next week.
Vin said he tried to push little jessie out of the back door to get her outside, but he said she went out  sniffed the air  stayed out for about one minute and he came back in closed the door and no sooner had he done that and she was behind him !  No fooling her is there.
Here I am !

Thursday 14 June 2018

Short and Sweet!

Not a huge amount to write about today, mainly because it is a quiet sort of day with not a lot happening.
It was very blowy when we awoke this morning, but also very sunny. The result of storm Hector. Where on earth do they get those silly names from? Next door has had their awning blown over and they only put that up a few days ago too when it was really sunny and warm.  It all seems to have blown over now and the trees are definitely quieter.
Little Jessie is also fairly quiet today too, she is at the moment asleep in the front room out of the way of anything going on in the house. She was up on her daddy last night, full length and fast asleep on his front. Then all of a sudden she gets up and jumps down and off she goes quite happy.
HaHa ! Not Jessie but MY cat ! She wouldn't ever let me pick her up like that . Reserved for daddy !
Happy now !

Doesn't The Day Go Quickly?

Although we woke up quite early the day passed at quite a speed. Based around my appointment at Aintree podiatry clinic which was at two thirty today. That really decided what you do depending on how early that is.
We got up reasonably and had showers which washes my hair as well. We have some lovely L'Occitane shower gel which is really gorgeous and makes the house smell nice as well.  Then we had a nice coffee at around twelve and our lunch at around one. Lunch consisting of a yogit and a half bag of crisps.
Off to podiatry, nice and sunny, I am glad I bought my new sunglasses. Only waited a couple of minutes and was called in within about ten minutes. Helena today, haven't had her for a little while and always like her. She has a lovely way with her. Left at around three maybe a bit later and came home via the garden centre over the way . Vin wanted to get some plants for the barrel . He got some lovely little blue and red coloured plants , we bought white ones last year which were nice but these will be a change.  He also bought a cocoa plant which is a lovely plant and very difficult to grow.
Little Jessie was up with the lark this morning, sitting on her daddy till he got up to feed her.  She has mostly been asleep in the front room until we were ready to go out then she decided that she wanted feeding! Typical. He went and gave her some biscuits then she looked at him he said as if to say that's all dried up so he gave her some new stuff.  Result, one cat quite happy. When we got back she was sound asleep in her basket.
The barrel last year.
Very comfy thankyou.!

Odd Weather !

One of thse days that you don't know what it is going to do. Started off very cloudy and almost a bit blowy then that cleared and it went warmer. Then it went quite cloudy and Vin reckoned it was almost thundery. Now it is bright sunshine and very warm again. Ah well! British weather normal!
We have stayed in today because we are out tomorrow. Vin wanted to do his ironing and  other bits and pieces and is now in the garden. He was telling me that there was a very heavy bag of bits from the solar lights that he dismantled yesterday. Terrible when you think of all of the rubbish that is coming from China to end up in our recycle bins in the end.
jessie has had a bit of fun today, she went out this morning for a mooch round . Came in at lunchtime for a lie down and Vin picked her up , all went well till he tried to put her down and her nail was caught . He decides to cut her claws. Easier said than done. She struggles like mad and wriggles out of his grasp, but he did manage to cut the offending claw which does get caught easily.  Well done Daddy !
Try and catch me !!!

Monday 11 June 2018

Lovely and Warm !

Another very nice day today. Sunny and bright and quite close as well.  We get all the sunshine at the back of the house in the afternoon so it gets fairly warm, almost too hot to be outside.
Vin has gone into the garden to do a few bits and bobs , he is trying to sort his solar lights out and has got rid of a fair number. They seem to get water logged so they are no use really. He came back from crosby yesterday with a new set of ice-lolly ones which are really very pretty, and only 2.99 so even if they only last a year they are worth it.
Jessie has been round and about today. She had to be let in at lunchtime again. I said she was spoilt,  he said she is still learning! She did lie down on the floor and let him brush her all over. He got a fair bit of hair from her so hopefully that willprevent a hairball !
I like this one waiting for Daddy.

Friday 8 June 2018

Friday... Rest Day!

That means a breather from any appointments and other little outings.  Not a rest day for our Jane though as she has done two eight to eight days in a row. She will be tired tonight. I hope she is off tomorrow.
We clearly didn't go out anywhere today, Vin had been doing some tidying up in the garden especially in the back garden. It is a time of the year when the daffodil bulbs have well died down and just sit there looking sad and leafy. I always think it is a shame when they die down and need pulling up. Vin has left them this year and he says he will wait to see what happens to them. He has just come in to say he has just spent 20 minutes getting rid of old solar lights. He says he isn't going to buy any more. They are a waste of money, all rubbish come from China. !
Vin was thrilled today because his princess came in herself through the cat flap. She had been outside to get a bit of sun whilst it isn't too hot.  He says she is still learning and i suppose she is really. Clever girl!!
Making her way through the kitchen. Sorry no cream cake today though it's all run out.

Thursday 7 June 2018

Podiatry!

It was a one thirty appointment today so we organise the day round that. We didn't need to get up early but we happened to  anyway, so we had a nice early coffee and our biscuit.  Vin got our breakfasts and we then went off to do our separate things. I tend to catch up on the computer and he does all  sorts of stuff. A lovely coffee  at twelve o'clockish and a biscuit, then up to get changed and ready.
Off out to the podiatry clinic at one o'clock. Waited a while and then Jo called me in. Haven't seen her for a few weeks so it was  nice to catch up. She did the dressings again and we left to have our lunch somewhere, and ended up in a car park quite a way from the hospital.  Vin made some lovely butties with cheese and chutney juice for me and the same for him and we shared a packet of crisps. Very cosy.
Vin said little Jessie went out for about one minute this morning and then came back in again. He reckons she sniffs the air and decided whether she is going to stop out. Today she didn't. She did have a look at the front door this morning as we were just going out, but he got behind her making a wooshing noise and she scooted back inside the middle room.  Funny that.
What a pair of beauties !

Wednesday 6 June 2018

Up and At Em !

Nice sunny morning again and we had planned to go out to Dobbies today.  The only things we needed really were some hanging baskets for the back garden. We had a good look round and were really looking for ones in wicker baskets but there were only plastic basket ones. Not as nice but they are on offer there so we got three of those.
Went for our coffee and it was quite busy. The little girl who does the clearing up was there again today she wasn't the last time we went. It must be a relentless job that one no sooner do you clear down and wipe the table then somebody else  sits down with all of their dishes.
Really nice and bright in the cafe areas and we sat and people watched over our coffees. I had a flat white and Vin had a Latte with hazelnut flavour which he likes.
Since we didn't need anything else from the food section having got them two weeks ago we went back to the car and Vin went back for the baskets. He came back with three nice ones which he has put up in the back garden .
We watched a really good film last night mainly because there was noting to record or watch on the box. It was called Mr Holmes and was based around a case that Sherlock Holmes had not solved in his past. It was really excellent and we both enjoyed it. Brilliant acting too, a real little gem.
Little Jessie has been a bit more active today and went out twice.  Vin said she went out on her own too which he is always proud of .
Madam in the garden.  Vin has just come upstairs though it is too warm to be out in it he says. His princess is in the front room "resting".

Tuesday 5 June 2018

In Again

Nice and sunny again. The weather forecast said that it was going to be cloudy but brighter in the afternoon and that is what it is.  We had a normal day really with our little routine in place.  No phone calls, a little bit of post I got a nice bangle by Murano from QVC and the hearing aid batteries  from Specsavers. They provide free ones for four years and there is still a year to go on those so not doing too bad.  Each one lasts for around 10 to 12 days so not too bad.
Little Jessie has her own little routine too she gets up with the lark. Vin said that it was a cheek and ear job this morning, she strokes his face till he moves, and he can't cover himself up because she just crawls up him till he gets up. He gives in and  goes down to feed her. Result one happy cat.  She then spends the rest of the morning and afternoon sleeping in the front room at the moment.
Imagine this little paw crawling up to your face first thing in the morning.

Monday 4 June 2018

Monday Again !

I was chatting to our Jane last night and she was saying how she quite likes finishing work at eight in the morning and driving home when other people were just going to work. I suppose that is especially true on a Monday morning when you really don't want to get up and go out to work.
We are in today because we don't have any appointments till Thursday lunchtime so it is a nice quiet day for us. At least it was for moi but Vin was busy busy doing his usual  things. Mostly he did the ironing which was chiefly the bedding.  He won't stop and is a monkey for doing bits and bobs.
Little Jessie  has been quiet today, probably the warm weather. She woke up early as usual and Vin got up to feed her then he came back to bed and dozed off again.  She must have followed him because when I woke up she was in the middle of the bed fast asleep, only jumped off when he got up for a shave.  She has mostly been in the front room which is cooler in the sunlight.
Is it nearly time for my cream from the cream cake..Please !

Friday 1 June 2018

Quiet and Humid !

A quiet day  for us today. As the day goes on it is getting more humid which is unusual for the first day of June. Hares and Rabbits ! By the way.
We have stayed in today because we were out twice this week anyway.  We have actually got windows open in the house to let some air in.  No breeze though to clear the air. Last night there was a real heavy rainstorm, we didn't seem to get any thunder but it was torrential. The little cat from the house at the end  of our terraced block Vin said came running up the garden and into one of the little huts in the garden. These were originally for our two cats who used to shelter under a big conifer tree that we had at the bottom of the garden. When we had it cut down we bought thema little hut to shelter in, when one wore out we bought another. Then Vin re-furbished the older one so we now have two. jessie doesn't really bother with them but has been known to sit on the top.  Glad it could be of use to little Charlie anyway.
The back garden with the huts in the middle.
