Busy, Busy!

Yesterday, Tuesday we went to Dobbies in the morning, it is getting near the end of the month so we had our vouchers for free coffees to use up before then and we didn't want to lose them. It was a lovely morning too so a really nice day to go.  We got up and going quite early so actually got there quite early too. Had a good look round to see what we wanted to buy then went for our coffees. Vin had a nice Americano ande I had my usual flat white. We take our own biscuits so it is a cheapo drink really, or are we cheapskates. !
Home at lunchtime after buying our cakes and shortbreads etc.,
Today it was another busy day getting up early again because I had an appointment at eleven o'clock with Mr Butchers clinic. It was to remove the dressings change them and take out the stitches.  Very nice wound apparently the stitches came out easily and we didn't wait that long beefore being seen. It was after all a very busy clinic so fair enough.  Vin left me there ande went to park eventually going up to the top floor of the multi storey car park. Mr Butcher is very pleased with it apparently and the best news of all. NO MORE ANTIBIOTICS which is really great. See him in four weeks.
From there Vin wheeled me up to the elective care for a blood test required by the Aranesp  team so they can adjust the dose if required. As we were going out and back to the car we went back to through the day case area so Vin handed in the medicash form for completing. Then back to the car and home for our coffee.
Little Jessie had clearly been asleep in the front room from the time weleft till the time we came home. A nice peceful morning for her then. All she hs to do is get herself going in time to get her cream when we have our cake!
Not long now! Guess what I am dreaming of?

Rain Rain Went Away!

Terrible weather yesterday, poured down all day, everywhere was wet. Flooding warnings in operation too, funnyold cuntry, one minute it is boiling hot and the next pouring and much much colder. At least it was easier to sleep at night when the temperature dropped.
We didn't go out today, we don't usually on a Monday, unless it is an appointment somewhere. It looks like we are going to Dobies tomorrow because we have both had hair washes this morning, and we do need to get some of their cakes and other bits. It was too hot to go there last week, we would have been boiled I think. Vin got a nice voucher from them this morning for his birthday for two regular drinks and two slices of tray bake cakes or two biscuits. Very nice of them. Not sure that we will use them tomorrow though because we have this months to use up first, and it is nearly the end of the month.
I got some vouchers from Tesco today too, for money off shopping, the first is for £9 off £60 which is pretty good going, and quite a saving, would certainly buy some coffee pods or other bitas.
Little Jessie just appeared before I came upstairs, lay down on the floor and  let Vin brush her both sides too. She even stuck her bum in the air so he could brush her tail properly too.  Then she went off into the kitchen to use her litter tray with shall we say a very scented result!!!
Just creeping about, looking for cream cake! It is Monday after all!

Scorcher!

Again another hot one! it was overcast this morning but the sun is ut now and it is very warm again. Thought the weather people said it ws going to be cooler today but it isn't yet, hopefully it will tonight. Last night was terrible for me anyway, just couldn't get comfy, and then my skin started itching, no idea why, and that woke Vin up, but that made it worse of course. Hope it will be better tonight!
Jane had her eye appointment this morning at the eye hospital near where she works. She rang up later to say that they say the eye is still changing so there wasn't any point in seeing the Dr., and go back in another six weeks which is the 13th of September. That's a shame becaus3e she is dying to get back driving, her little car is sitting outside her house not moving, poor little car.
Haven't seen much of Jessie this morning yet anyway, think she is still in the front room which seems to be favourite at the mment. It is the coolest room in the house after the sun has gone round mis-morning. The back of the house is quite hot until the sun goes down anyway.
No cream cake? Oh dear, don't think I am a happy catty now!!

Odd Weather!

Very odd weather today really, extremely warm overnight, it was hard to get a breeze going not much of a draught coming through the window.  It was one of those nights when you toss and turn and just ass you get to sleep somebody wakes you up to get up. Oh well,no wonder they all have air conditioning in hot places like Australia.  It is their winter there and still pretty warm by the looks of the photos they have posted.
Letter today with an appointment for the dressings clinic for next Wednesday so that has turned up. There are already two further ones for podiatry one on Wednesday and the other on Friday, so we will have to get in touch with them to see what they suggest we do.
Again too hot to go anywhere today, so we stopped in out of the hot sun.  Very thundery here later this morning too, a really big clap of thunder when we were having our coffee which made Jessie lift her head up but she wasn't too botherede unlike some of the cats we have had who wwwould hide under tables in frightBless them!
Next doors have all gone off to Edge Hill for her graduation, hope she iswn't too hot.  It rained n the day when Jane had her graduation but it was a lovely day and we were so proud, and it was so lovely to see all her friends. People she had spoken about on the phone but we had never met.
I hope my cream cake isn't getting too warm and there is a little bit for me!

Not Another One!!

Probably what the poor Queen is saying at the moment. That woman must have seen so many Prime Ministers in her reign as Queen of our country. Wonder what she thinks of Boris who is the latest!
Way back in 2007 I started this blog which happened to be the first day of Gordon Brown's role as Prime Minister. He took over from Tony Blair and inherited loads of problems at the time. Looks like Boris the Buffoon will do the same. If he thinks it will all go smoothly he will need to think again. Lord knows what he will be like in reality. We shall see!
All going quite well here the foot seems to be doing fine  just at the moment waiting for a letter about the dressing change. Thought it would have been here by now but nothing yet. Patience is a virtue!
Very very warm here today, not quite as hot as yesterday but still pretty hot. Reaching the high twenties today and much higher down south, and they are welcome to it too.
Jessie was out this morning for a bit but not long according to Vin, think it is too warm for her. She is at the moment in the front room which is  bit shadier and cooler. She didn't seem to be worried about the thunder etc last night. I didn't hear anything because I take my hearing aids out at night so am dead to the world. An advantage of being deaf, not that there are many!!
Nice out sunbathing!

Melting Monday!

Quiet Monday here at home. It has turned out to be fairly hot today, but the weather people said that it would be and the papers have been warning about a heatwave for the last few days. Seems to be right too this time.
We didn't go out today but Vin did go to Tesco quickly to get a flan for tea. They didn't have any in stock on Saturday and neither did Sainsbury's so he went today instead, and they had lots in stock. They have obviously refilled the shelves. Thank goodness for that.
Jessie has mostly been in the front room this morning, surfacing at lunchtime, ours that is, anyway she was fed then.  Vin said when he went t feed her this morning she just sat there, he put some meat dawn and she looked at it so he put some biswcuits down and she looked at them, then he said "do you want some sprinkles?" and she looked up at him. He put those down and she went for the lot!! What a minx.
Nice day today so it's out for a wander. Cream cake today too!!

Happy Birthday To Me!

I have reached the ripe old age of 73 today!.  Vin was awake this morning just before coffee and biscuit time, and he came back with a lovely orchid plant which is a gorgeous shade of almost terracotta, really unusual, and very pretty. He had also got me a Colony candle which is jasmine and sandalwood flavour. Not a flowery one but a nice scent with the sandalwood overtone. and white colour. I love white candles and this one makes a great change from the clean cotton and baby powder ones.
I also had received a parcel from John and Ann with a jacket in it and a pair of nice dangly earrings, with a card and letter written inside.
Jane rang up mid morning, I thought she would still be in bed but she is on an eight /eight day tomorrow so didn't want to sleep too late otherwise she won't  sleep tonight. She was having a little walk to Tesco to wake herself up a bit for that.
I got a phone call from Aintree as a reminder about tomorrow, as if we had forgotten! We are trying to get through the day a bit quicker today so we can get to bed earlier tonight, because we have to be there for 7.30 in the morning! Oh Dear! it is the worst thing about it all.
Jessie has been in and out today, the kittens next door are going for their operations today for speying etc., poor little things but necessary these days. Then they can be let out after a couple of weeks.
Did somebody say cream cake!  Actually no, because Vin said it is very difficult to get any cream out of this cake, but he did reveal that he bought a pot of creme fraiche  the other day when he was at Sainsbury's !! Lucky Girl!

Two Birds With One Stone!

We were up early this mornin g afte4r an early night. Had an appointment at the Pre Op buiding at Aintree, prior to having the foot procedure on Friday. Got there early  actually, and Vin parked in the multi storey on the second floor opposite where we had to go, so very handy.
Didn't wait long and was called in to see the nurse (Linda) Asked all of the usual questions which seemed to take ages but are all necessary I suppose.  Then back to the waiting room and along to get the weight, height, etc done, also blood pressure and swabs as normal. All quite pleasing results. All done then and off to go home.
We did go via Costa though for a lovely flat white, and a salted caramel latte for Vin. I do like my flat whites from there. Quite quiet too, but it was starting to fill up later getting n for lunchtime. Really pleasnt day today, lovely and sunny, with people sitting outside too, but a bit bright for me.
Had a lovely sit and people watch then left for home again.
I wondered if it was a good idea to go to Sainsbury's for a cream cake for Daddy's little princess, so we did. Got there about twelveish, and Vin went inside to get his bits of shopping, he got a pizza for tonight for himself and a salad which was on offer and some veggies for me. Of course a nice cream cake for Jessie.
So a good day today.
Who's a lucky girly then?? Cream cake for tea.

The Blip!

Wednesday was an appointment at the podiatry clinic at three o'clock, we got there on time, and it was really busy but not on our side. However, we did have a very long wait because the poor podiatry girl was there on her own. There should have been two of them but one had been on holiday and her flight was delayed so she wasn't in, the other full time one was on holiday so well down. No wonder they were short staffed. By the time we got in it was quite late so we were very late getting home.
Yesterday it was a blip on the computer which saw the screen squashed over to one side so that I coudn't access my details on the top of this post to put a new one in. Hence no blog done.  Nice and bright today but with a couple of little drizzly spots of rain. Vin was keeping an eye on the weather because he had his chair cover on the line where his sweet little cat had chucked up so it needed washing.  Oh the joys of cat ownership!
Jessie was asleep when we got back on Wednesday, hadn't missed us at all I don't think, although she did get up to follow her daddy around to get fed.
I wonder if she was wistfully looking out of the window waiting for her daddy? More like she was asleep all afternoon!

Getting There!

Do have to say it is nice to be home again. Do have to say I wish we lived in a bungalow though, the stairs are a pain in the neck at the moment, doesn't seem to be the energy ine legs at the moment and with the wrist being a bit on the floppy side it is getting harder to get me upstairs. Good job Vin is there at the back of me to push me upwards!! Great fun!
Yesterday we had an appointment at Aintree this time at the diabetic clinic. It was for one o'clock and we got there on time. Waited for a whie and Vin went ff to park the car. He still had one day on the car park pass as it finished yesterday.  He rejoined me and then I was called into the little room for the usual tests, weight, blood pressure blood test and then out into the waiting area again. While I was having those done Vin was chatting to Helena who gave us an appointment for tomorrow which was a cancellation to have the foot dressed again. Won't be sorry to get these dressings off because my leg is so itchy it is terrible, I think it is the cotton wol that was used makes my skin so itchy. Be glad to get rid of that.
Went in to see the consultant then who went through the usual questions, saw the Head Honcho this time, haven't seen him before,Professor Wilding and really nice he was too. All results were good and he was pleased with them. See them again next year for the next one. Wished him Happy Christmas then off we went.
Vin nipped up to the ward 21 to get my tablets and discharge letter then we went home finally.
Day of today, I hope Vin is having a bit of a breather, he deserves it after all of the running round he has been doing bless him! What a star!
Jessie is ibn her basket at the moment, don't suppose she will go out, she doesn't like getting wet and it has been raining/drizzling off and on all day today.
All curled up and comfy out of the drizzle and next to her Daddy!

Hello Blog!!

Back home again after what turned out to be a long protracted podiatry appointment ten days ago. Must admit now that I did actually feel rough when we went for that but one of the podiatry girls got a Dr who sent me over to A&E where I was put on the IV antibiotics, paracetamol and fluids and then sent to the observation ward before going up the next day to what is becoming a second home on Ward 21. been there so many times they greet me like an old friend, got lots of hugs of recognition while I was there. Everyone is so lovely on that ward and the nurses are just great..
poor Vin was ding the to-ing and fro-ing from there to home, with bits and bobs, lovely little sandwiches to keep me going, and pots of yoghurt that I like. Bless him. The worst day for him I think apart from the first day/night was yesterday, when I had eventualy got the all clear to go home after a lot of pestering i might add was the trouble finding a wheelchair to get me to the car. He said he walked miles all over the hospital looking for one but they were totally none available. Eventually one of the lovely Sisters who I had known from way back lent us one that was in her bay, and also sent a nurse to go down with us and wheel it back. See just lovely.
When we got home Jessie just gave a bit of a miaow, then turned and went off to the kitchen, I think the only thing she wanted was some food!! and her daddy home.
Lovely restful day today, and a bit of normality, just a phone call from Mr Butchers secretary this morning to let me know he is going to do the surgery on the 19th letter to follow! I had seen him in his clinic while in the hospital down in his clinic and he had explained what he was doing. So good t go.
I'll make a bit of roomfor you at a push, but this bed is mine and Daddy's now!!!No cream cake either, I might have a sulk now!!
