Tootsies!

Up earlyish this morning because it was the appointment at the podiatry clinic. Vin says little Jessie doesn't bother  coming up now because he goes down first. I told him she has trained his body clock now so he wakes up at feed Jessie time !
The appointment was for eleven o'clock and we were there on time as we usually are.  I waited in the waiting area and Vin joined me very quickly as he was parked on the second level. We only sat there for a few minutes and Cathy came and called me in. That was a nice surprise because last week we had the same time appointment and sat waiting for an hour till we were called in. Today she said they had four cancelled appointments so they weren't busy.  We were out in about half an hour so since it was nice and early today we got to go for a Costa.
Vin drove us to the retail park that we usually go to and we went into a very quiet Costa. I thought it would be really busy with it being half term but it wasn't. Did get busier as it got later on towards lunchtime. but very pleasant. I had a flat white and Vin had a coconut soya latte which I had a taste of and it was lovely.  We sat and people watched for a while then off home.
Quite nice and sunny this afternoon and Jessie was out in the garden for a while this  morning Vin said she didn't want to come in with him and she was enjoying some time sitting in the sun.
Sittin in the sunshine I shall come in when I want to thank you.

Change Again!

What a difference in a day. Yesterday it was bright sunshine wall to wall and really hot. Today it is much cooler and overcast. looks like rain but hasn't yet. Had a lovely shower this morning which is a real faff with getting the Limbo's on each leg and the shower bench set up so it isn't an easy job. Thanks to Vin we get there.
We have obviously stayed in today mainly because we are out tomorrow off to the podiatry clinic . It is an early appointment so it would be nice if we finished early and then go for a Costa afterwards. However last week  we were left in the waiting room for one hour before we went in so were quite late finishing. We shall have to wait and see what happens tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Little Jessie has been up and about today a bit more than yesterday but is still in the front room mostly probably keeping quiet and cooler.
On her way out? Not today thank you. He tried to guide her out this morning but she wasn't having any of it.

Tuesday 29 May 2018

Peepers !

The trouble with having an early appointment is that once you wake up in the morning that is it really. You doze until it is time to get up. Of course  Jessie was up and around and so vin went down to feed her then came back to bed, he wriggles and turns then until it is time to get up to get our coffee and biscuit. I( always quite enjoy that time of the day when we have a little chat about things. It could be something we watched last night or it could be something he heard on the news anything really.
I had an appointment at the eye screening clinic in litherland Town Hall which is done every year. It is a really really bright sunny day so certainly needed my sunglasses. Trouble is you have eye drops put in which enlstgr your pupils so you look like you are on drugs, therefore everything seems brighter anyway.  The girl puts the eye drops in  you wait about fifteen minutes and  then she calls you back in. Time for the camera shoot of the back of the eye and then off home.  Because  there is nowhere to go after that, and also becuse I can't actually see anything  we came home. We did go via the garden centre and Vin got a hanging basket for the front garden by the door.  At least that looks nice now.
Jessie is very quiet today, trying to keep cool which can't be easy for a black cat.  She is mostly in the front room where it is cooler.
Looks half asleep. !

Monday 28 May 2018

A Warm Bank Holiday !

Very hot today , bright sunshine wall to wall. It seems that over the weekend there were  terrible thunderstorms and flash floods down south which looked quite bad.  Something to be said for not living overlooking a river or water.
Vin nipped out this morning  mostly because the shop down the road didn't have his Daily Express which he always  gets on a Monday only because it has a good general knowledge crossword in it.  He wasn't out for long but he said he had a job to find a paper and eventually got one in Crosby. He did say everywhere was parked up because of the Tall Ships which are going through Crosby along the mersey, and the crowds were out to see them, so were all parked up.  Still he got his paper and came home for coffee.
He has just been upstairs to say he went out for a few minutes but it is way to hot for him out there. We get bright sun at the back of the house in the afternoon and it really is blazing out there.
Little Jessie has been mostly been in the front room where it is definitely cooler, more shaded.  Vin did say she went outside very early this morning but came back in again after a few minutes.  Followed him upstairs where she sat on his feet !

Where is he? Shall I go and tickle his ear?

Friday 25 May 2018

Dark and Dank !

Looking out of the window today you would think that it was a different season to yesterday. It was so sunny and lovely yesterday and today it is drab and dark and rainy. The sort of drizzle you would not really want to go out in.
We stayed in today because we were out yesterday, and Vin wanted to do the bedding. He got that on to wash  but it is a pity that he couldn't use his new washing line which is a nice posh one.  Doesn't look like the weekend is going to be much better either.
At least  our Jessie is glad to have her daddy at home and whilst she woke him up early as usual she has settled down quite nicely , spent the day resting, feeding and  following Vin around.  We were sitting  enjoying our after lunch little cup of coffee and she jumps down from the sofa and starts chucking up a hair ball. Lovely ! Poor Vin works quickly and gets a paper under her so saves the carpet.  Well done !  Poor Jessie, they didn't tell us about this when he picked her up. Ah well, goes with the territory as they say.
Where is he ?

Thursday 24 May 2018

Best Laid Plans !

Up early this morning and an early coffee. Jessie woke her daddy up quite early with the bright light.  He of course went down to feed her and did a few other things then came back upstairs with our starter coffees. Lovely !
Breakfast then and  Vin went off to get the paper and my magazines. He went past the chap who was putting stuff in a skip so he asked if he could  put our old washing line in he said that was ok so Vin went back with it later. That's got rid of that then, it had completely rusted away. We have a nice new one by Brabantia which looks really good and is bigger too.
It was off to Podiatry in Aintree  the appointment was for eleven o'clock, and we got there on time as we always do.  One hour later we went in to see Cathy, had the feet redone but it was too late to go for a Costa so we came home.  We had planned to go to Costa and Vin took the cards that we have, but it was really too late to go thereby the time we had come out. Never mind, at least we had a coffee out at Dobbies earlier in the week and next week it is the same time so maybe then she says wistfully !
Jessie as usual has been resting after her early morning awakening. When we came home she was in the front room, maybe it is because it is a bit cooler there. We tend to get the sun in the front in the morning then it goes round and we get bright sun in the back of the house in the afternoon. She does seem to like the sun and went out just before lunch . Naturally Vin jumped up to let her in after a bit.
Vin and his Princess !

Wednesday 23 May 2018

One in One out!

Another nice sunny day today, Vin encouraged Jessie to go out in the sunshine which she did . Then he jumped up at lunchtime because she was outside the back door waiting to come in.  Talk about royalty, she waits for the door to be opened before she deigns to come in.
He said he was woken up this morning quite early because it was light. he had a foot outside the covers and felt something touching his foot. Apparently she was licking his foot, he said he thought it was me fiddling with his feet. Eerm sorry no thank you not my scene. It was his Princess getting up close and personal. It worked anyway and he got up to feed her.
I stopped in today because we are out early tomorrow, but Vin wanted to go and get a hair cut so he took himself off to Formby. Seemed no time at all and he phoned to say he had it done and was off to Tesco to get a couple of things we wanted.  He was back really quickly with a very good hair cut nice and short and should last for a few months. The last time he had one was four months ago so not too bad.  Wish I could find a hairdresser to do mine so easily, his only cost £8 mine last time was over £30.  No equality there is there.
If he isn't in the house  Jessie doesn't come up to where I am which is what most of the other cats would have done. I remember our Rusty would come up and probably jump on the keyboard  and press all the keys going. Aaah !
Waiting on the stairs to trip me up ??

Tuesday 22 May 2018

Outing !

Beautiful sunny day today so we got ourselves up and out to Dobbies.  At least the main road was quiet unlike last week when there was grass cutting going on which caused traffic trouble.  Next week I think is half term so that would be busier. Good week to go therefore.
Dobbies was lovely and quiet, full of pensioners feeding their faces on the meal deals. I'm always amazed at the amount of food they seem to put away./ We just have our free coffees and take our own biscuits, minge bags that we are !!
We had a look round when we got there because we were looking for some hanging baskets  but it seemed that they were due a delivery yesterday but none arrived so they didn't really have any. The shelves were bare. That was a bit of a disappointment so we will have to leave that a bit longer.  After our coffee  which was very pleasant, I had a flat white and Vin had a medium latte. We bought some more shortbreads, a couple of cakes and some nice scented tea lights.  Then home.
Little Jessie was in her usual spot her basket, where we had left her. Vin always leaves the radio on for her as he says it keeps her company.  mad isn't he !
Who is disturbing me now !

Monday 21 May 2018

The Sun is Shining!

Certainly a nice day today, the sun is shining down on the back garden, and Vin had put a load of washing  out to dry on the new washing line. Seems to be very successful too as it is bigger and he has moved it away from the fence so is getting more of the sun.
Very sunny this weekend for the Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan.  It went off really well, I do have to say that we do things like that extremely well in this country. The Royals whilst there are an awful lot of them scrubbed up well. A fair dose of celebrities including a happy looking george Clooney and wife, and a very morose looking  Victoria  Beckham. Does that woman never smile?
The bride did look gorgeous the dress was absolutely beautiful in a Grace Kelly sort of way. Very elegant.
Today we are in and will probably go out tomorrow, we need some new hanging baskets and a few other things.
Jane has just rung up with some very sad news about her friend's cat. Apparently it had been missing then turned up . There seemed to be something not right with him so she got in touch with the vet. They examined him and decided that he had to be put down because it's spine had been affected and had lost all it's bladder control. "What a shame it was a beautiful cat, really pretty. Poor little thing little Apollo.
This is our one sat in the sun.

Friday 18 May 2018

One in One out !

Me in and Vin out today. Not for too long though. It was the day for his MOT which is due in a few days yet but he usually gets it done early to be on the safe side. it is actually due in June so plenty of time.  His booking was for two o'clock and he was back for three fifteen so did really well. All passed and good to go for next year.
Me and Jessie stayed in today. She doesn't tend to go out, and Vin said this morning he left the back door open to see if she would but she goes to the door has a bit of a sniff and then comes back in again.  I think he would like her to go out with him like Rusty and Bobby used to do, but she likes her basket too much. Perhaps she is a student cat !
I might go out tomorrow !

Thursday 17 May 2018

Tootsie Day!

Today revolved around the appointment with the podiatry clinic at one thirty.  The normal routine is to  get up reasonably then  have our breakfast and a mid morning coffee and biscuit then get ready and off we go. Left at one ish and got there well on time. Seen by Cathy who called me in quite quickly redressed my feet and left. Home by about ten past two, pretty good going really.
We left in bright sunshine, and I wore my new sunglasses which are great and very comfortable to wear too. Pleased I bought those.
Little Jessie was asleep in her basket when we left and was still there when we got back. Hadn't moved.
She was in the middle of the bed this morning when I woke up freezing because she was weighing down the covers and I had a leg out. Well you can't move them can you !
How can you move that !

Wednesday 16 May 2018

Poor Jane !

My poor baby. Vin answered the phone at about nine thirty this morning and it was Jane to say theat she had a voice message from the eye hospital to say they had cancelled the procedure due on Friday. It has been postponed until July now. She is understandably more than a bit upset about that. Trouble is she had arranged all of her shifts around that so it is a big blow for her. Sorry Jane XXX
At least she had her car through the MOT without any problems which was good news. Vin's is due on Friday and he was out looking over his car this morning, the only thing to do is check his back lights which I will do tomorrow when we go out.
Not out today but we are tomorrow at the Podiatry clinic at one thirty so expect we will have a quick coffee in the morning then come back for our lunch.
Jessie doesn't seem bothered about going out  our Rusty would have been out like a shot. She loved being out with Vin  and our Bobby too. One of the nice memories he has is of bobby nudging his arm when he was potting some plants on the flags.
He has just come up to say that he has done ten minutes weeding and was going to have a mug of green tea with mint which he brought up to show me. It stinks! Beats me how people can drink things like that!
What me go out? No I'm comfy enough here thank you.

Tuesday 15 May 2018

Jane In The Wars !

Quite nice and bright today. Vin was out in the garden trying to put up the new washing line. He has made a good start by moving it away from the fence by about two feet he said, cut the corner off a flag and cemented the base pole in place. That has to be left now probably overnight until it has set.  He did open up the washing line which is one of the rotary ones and it looks good. very well made one anyway. For a change not made in China but made in Latvia.
Lunchtime our Jane rang up. She was on her way home from dropping her car off for it's M.O.T. at the Quik Fit garage.  She said she was too mean to get the bus so she had decided to walk instead.  She told me that she had been to the dentist the day before about a back tooth which had been troubling her, and the upshot was the dentist took it out. So she had "Hamster" cheeks and her wonky eye. Couldn't eat anything last night except for mashed potato and ice cream and she was really craving a burger and a burrito. Aaah.  Her friends  have been kidding her about  getting a white stick made from the centre iof toilet rolls and a hamster on a piece of string as a guide animal. Very nice. ! She has just rung up to say her car has got through the test which is good, no big expense there anyway.
Little jessie hasn't been out much with her daddy, I thought she would have gone in the garden but no she prefers her basket.
You could wear this to cover your eye and cheeks. !!
Shall I go out or not ?

Monday 14 May 2018

Washing Lines !

Nothing much going on today except  for the normal comings and goings.  Vin decided that he would take himself off to Formby to get a new washing line.  The one that we have had for years has finally given up the ghost, and basically has rusted away. He did some measuring because we only have a small garden and the last one touched the fence a bit so wasn't ideal.
While at Homebase he rang up for me to check on the Argos website for  a particular make  to see what price it was. I typed in Brabantia rotary dryer and got no result then realised I should have typed in rotary washing line and got a result. In fact it was the same  price so he decided to go with that ne.  Good choice.
He has just come upstairs to tell me that he was talking to ne of his neighbours  who said that there had been a man ringing all our doorbells this morning to say that he was thinking of opening a cycle repair shop over the road and did we have any objections. Erm well yes actually, this road is terrible for traffic at the moment anyway, and with the chemist and the dentist and the shops it is really quite busy enough actually.  We shall have to see what happens.
Little Jessie wasn't up too early this morning but Vin did get up to feed her then came back. She has been out this morning a bit because it is nice and sunny. Nice to get a bit of fresh air for her.
Posing in the garden !

Saturday 12 May 2018

What a Day !

A wasted day actually ! I had an appointment at Aintree with Mr Butcher for eleven twenty yesterday morning. Consequently  woke up extremely early when it was still dark and couldn't get back to sleep because I was worried about oversleeping. Knew that wouldn't happen because Vin had the alarm on but then there were millions of things going round my head.  Anyway up and out and at the appointment for eleven o'clock. Called in for an x-ray after a short while . Expected it to be on my left foot, but the radiographer said they had it down for the left!  Apparently he wanted a follow up on the foot he did a while ago.  Back to the waiting room and waited. Waited and waited some more. A nurse came out and posted a note on the board to say Apologies for the delay of 60 minutes!  In fact we were two hours then got in to see him.  Only about five minutes in there to be tld that he wouldn't do anything till the toe had healed anyway and didn't even look at the foot in question.  So home then as I say a wasted day really. Ah well you win some and you lose some.
Today Saturday is just a normal day, Vin had his usual cuddle with the cat early this morning. Vin has gone off to Tesco and I am catching up on the news on FB. Actually not much going on  all quite quiet.  He has just rung up to tell me about rotary washing lines. Ours has bit the dust as they say, and needs replacing.  Juat a case now of getting the measurement right.
Little Jessie is doing her usual things. Eating, sleeping and resting in her basket. What a life !  She didn't move yesterday, didn't even come to the door to greet us when we got home. Charming! This despite Vin having a bit of a fret about whether she would be ok. Of course she is.
Who are you? Disturbing my sleep.
Forgot to say we actually had a fire last night because it went really cold. It had been cold all day really, very blowy wind and in the evening Vin decided to get a fire going, this after the heat wave of last weekend. British weather you just do not know where you are.

Thursday 10 May 2018

Bright and Sunny !

It is now bright and sunny, started off a bit overcast but brightened up later on. We are in today since we are out at Aintree tomorrow at the fracture clinic which is to see Mr Butcher. That is at eleven twenty so we need to be up and going quite early.
Nothing much doing today except routine things. Jane rang up last night she had been on two till ten shift and was on half eight to half four today.  Her shifts are terrible I don't know how they put up with them.  She keeps them on her phone don't think I could put up with that.  Seems to work for her though.
I woke up this morning to see  Jessie sat on top of her daddy and giving me the evils.  Every time I turned my head she was there looking at me and Vin was fast asleep. I could feel these eyes glaring at me.

See what I mean! Glaring !!

Wednesday 9 May 2018

Tootsies!

Off again to the podiatry department at Aintree. Our appointment was for 1.30. So we had a nice early coffee and a listen to the Popmasters Quiz and it was time to move. By the time we had gone upstairs to get changed it was ready to go. Quite quie5t outside and it lookedlike we were making good time till we got to Ince Woods and somebody was doing road works with traffic lights, the temporary ones much further along and it was snarling everything up. it is surprising just how quickly  the traffic builds up both ways too. The opposite direction was really chocked up.  Eventually  we got through and actually got there on time.
Had my feet re-dressed  they do them really carefully, loads of padding to protect the toes from rubbing and padding on my right one to stop a blister forming. Maybe one day I shall get back in the shoes again.
We were back by three so we went straight to our lunch and had yoghurts and crisps which is nice and quick.  It was lovely and sunny when we went out but it started raining when we were eating our lunch. Now it is tipping down but it looks like it is clearing up.
I had my thinner pyjamas out last night but when I went to bed decided to stay with my soft ones.  Bit cool still once the hot weather went.  What a country!
Little Jessie was up really early this morning according to Vin, very very early ! Doesn't wake me up though. He got up to feed her then made some tea and came back to bed.  When we went out she was in her basket and still there when we came back. Hadn't moved a muscle. Tired I suppose.
Out in the sun !

Tuesday 8 May 2018

What a Change !

After all the gorgeous weather over the weekend it took a turn for the worse today. Started out quite bright, then got duller but still ok. Then Vin put some washing out on the line. Out for a bit and seemed to be fine, then started to cloud over, and the rain started.  Typical ! Also he said the washing line had broken. It is a rotary one so will need replacing, we haven't bought one of those for years but they don't seem to be too expensive.
At the moment he is out in the back garden doing a bit of sorting out because it is much brighter. He had done the front garden this morning before it started raining,  and got talking to our next door neighbour whose wife is in birmingham having had a liver transplant last Tuesday evening. Apparently they were going to let her out yesterday!! but they just wanted to tweak some of her drugs a bit. That is amazing.  I would think he will be very glad to get her home since he has been travelling to and from there each day.  Very tiring.
Little Jessie went out just before lunch time and Vin said she was eating grass. That just means one thing, she usually follows up with a chuck up a bit later and sure enough she did. he was chasing her round with a newspaper and then said "Well Done" ! Good timing Jessie !
Here I am ! Daddy will look after me. XX

Monday 7 May 2018

Heatwave !

Bank Holiday Monday here and it is quite hot for a change. I bet the by-pass is choked with people going to Southport for the day.  Vin went down for the papers this morning and they did not have any Expresses left so  after our breakfast he decided to go to Crosby to get one. He likes doing the general knowledge crossword in that one.  Normally he goes to Formby but  with the traffic looking dodgy he went in the other direction.
Back for his coffee later on though. It is very hot today actually, apparently it is the hottest May bank Holiday for the last forty years so that's some going.  It's a bit sunny for me though, I prefer it cooler.  Never satisfied are we.
Very annoyingly while I was typing this my hearing aid started pinging its little tune that shows you when the battery is running out and needs replacing.  Not having any in here I went into the bedroom and thankfully there was one in my little box. It is terrible when it starts going off because it doesn't stop till you replace it.  AND I actually managed to do it myself !!! Normally I can't do them and Vin usually ends up doing it for me.
Vin is out in the garden doing some weed burning and sorting out the solar lights. he reckons they aren't worth the money because they wear out too quickly. The battery ones are better.
Little Jessie  went out for a bit this morning but not for long.  She is currently in her basket fast asleep. Vin had a bit of a fright this morning because  he looked out of the middle room window to see a black and white cat in next door's garden. He thought it was jessie, so he had to go downstairs to see if she was there. !!  Of course she was !
Not me I'm not going out !!

Friday 4 May 2018

A Bit Sunnier !

Quite nice now looking out of the window, mid-afternoon. Sun is shining but I think it is still cool in the house. We stayed in again today mainly because it is the Bank Holiday weekend coming up and it does get busier.
Vin bumped into our next door neighbour this morning and it appears that she has had to go to Birmingham for her liver transplant. He got a call on Tuesday to say she was wanted at the hospital and he had to ring her at her college. Apparently they got a phone call on the way to ask where they were and they were stuck in traffic on the motorway, so they arranged for a police car to meet them at the services, and transport them there. She had to be there by 4 o'clock. All systems go.  The poor man is going down to Birmingham each day to see her and back again.
Little Jessie didn't come up last night she must have been tired, but she did come up this morning. I felt her go over my feet on her way to her daddy. When I woke up it was still dark and there was a little face looking at me from her daddy's front.
This is what he sees first thing in the morning. Staring at you !!

Thursday 3 May 2018

Voting Day !

Only the local ones but since we didn't get anything through the letter box from any of the parties other than a general one from the Labour lot, and since the others couldn't be bothered I couldn't either. Vin went  to vote on a walk a bit later on. Well done Vinny.
Jane has just rung up and she had actually had her hair cut !!!!!  Wow, that was a long time coming.  She had an interview at a private hospital this afternoon and got her hair done this morning. It looks lovely all short and tidy.  She rang her daddy up on his camera phone and it looks really good.
She got a little miaow from Jessie when vin took the phone downstairs more than I get !! I'm sulking now.
She had an interview at a Private hospital which is not far from where she lives, she said it is just up the road. It's a bank job which means they can just contact her when ever they want her and it fits in with her rota. She said she took her Portfolio along with her and then was gutted when they didn't even look in it.  What a shame. I am sure she did well in the interview though, she does interview brilliantly.  Fingers crossed.
Jessie didn't come upstairs last night but she did this morning, sat on her daddy but was a tad grumpy. let him  stroke her and then got a bit nippy. When she had settled down a bit I had a little stroke but she started going for me too so I gave up on that. Ah well.
All mine and only mine !

Wednesday 2 May 2018

Receipts!

My husband has a way with receipts. He keeps them. Forever. Which is actually a good thing Bless Him ! because there have been many times during our marriage something has broken or not worked and he has always had the receipt necessary to take it back.  Yesterday the heater in the middle room stopped using the blower so  he was looking for the receipt this morning. Couldn't find it for ages but did eventually and it appears we have only had it for about eighteen months only so is within the Dimplex guarantee which is three years.  Anyway he has just come up to say he has rung the company and they are going to send a new one, I was all ready to buy a new one so he has saved us £70.  Well done Vin !!
We didn't go anywhere today, it started off quite dull and wet looking but is now lovely and sunny. Still cool though at least I think it is but then I am always cool.!
Little Jessie has been in her usual  place this morning which is her favourite basket, just getting up to wind herself round her daddy's legs and miaow at him.

Tuesday 1 May 2018

Tootsies !

Today revolved around the appointment at Aintree which was for 2.30 so not too much of a problem. We got a letter yesterday for an appointment  with Mr. Butcher  for a week on Friday at a quarter to nine !!!! Way too early for us so Vin rang up this morning  and got it changed to 11.20 on the same day which is much better. Well done Vin.
We got to Aintree a little early and there wasn't anyone waiting which looked good.  and in fact I didn't wait long before annie came and called my name.  She had a little student nurse with her too who must have been very bored but was really pleasant.  Irish  girl going home for the weekend because it is a bank holiday.
Today was the Doctor day and I saw the normal lady I saw a lot of when on ward 21 upstairs. Absolutely lovely always with a gorgeous smile.  Everything is looking good and  just needed redressing, then off home.
We went from there to the Co-Op store up the road and had some butties that the great Vin had got ready. Nice white bread with cheddar cheese, very tasty.  Home by 4.15 so good going.
Little Jessie hadn't moved as usual,  still in her basket. She isn't a cat who greets you at the door much if at all.  Shame I always like cats who do that.
His  little princess !
