Well Its All Over Now Bar The Shouting!

So they say! Our Jane went home back  to manchester on the 11.30 train from the station. It has been lovely having her home for christmas and I think she just enjoyed time with our Jessie too. One of the presents she brought for Vin was a cat blanket, not for him but for his cat, and that has certainly been a big hit. jessie has hardly been off it since she got it. Looks really lovely too, bright red against her black and white fur.
We had a lovely Christmas, and Vin did a wonderful job of cooking the Christmas meal, something for everybody, with jane and me having a "meatless" loaf and Vin had a goat's cheese stack from Sainsburys.  All the trimmings and everyone was happy. A lovely buffet the next day too with all sorts of tasty things.  Very nice little cheese and onion rolls dips, fries, and any number of other goodies.  Well done Vin you should be very proud. Even Jessie had her chicken dinner! Courtesy of Felix.
Back to normal now I think, at least some of the programmes are getting that way.Not terribly impressed  with the television over Christmas  apart from call The midwife the rest wasn't up too much at all. Maybe some new series starting will be better.
Posing beautifully!

Well It's All Over Now!

Mostly! Boxing Day buffet type meal later, for us three.  Very nice Christmas day dinner cooked by the wonderful Vin. We do not have the meat of course, but we did have a meatless loaf made from the packets of burger mix that jane brought homewith her. Vin had a type of nut roast item with goat's cheese that he bought from Sainsburys, which he said was very enjoyable. We had all the trimmings and it was a lovely meal. So well done Vinny XXX
For pudding we had a chocolate brownie with some creme fraicheand raspberries on the side. very tasty.
Fortunately this year we had our jane with us, as she was off for Christmas, and she brought presentswith her,  quite a lot for jessie. She had a wonderful time playing on the bed with the catnip mice and was going mad with excitement. It was a really nice day yesterday, I thinkeveryone enjoyed their food, even jessie had her chicken dinner, courtesy of Felix!
A beautiful picture of our Jessie on her blanket which Jane bought as a Christmas present. Gorgeous shade of red with a fantastic silver star on it. She took to it immediately and since it is next to her daddy she is extremely happy. Present of the day I reckon!

Christmas!

It's creeping up on us again like it does every year. You think you have ages to get ready and then there it is on top of you. Very damp here today but not raining yet.. We have been hearing the news from Australia about the heatwaves 40degrees there in Sydney with terrible bush fires. 44 in Melbourne apparently, that is way too hot for me, couldn't stand that. Hope John and Ann are alright in Perth.
Appointment in the Podiatry clinic yesterday at eleven o'clock so not too early. We  just about managed to get there, no reason why we were a bit on the latish side it was just the time seemed to run away with us. However, when we got there I had to wait a bit anyway so it didn't matter. Last appointment for the year actually the next one will be on the beginning of january two weeks off so a bit of a break. We finished around twelve so went to the Costa in Aintree for our coffee. I had my usual flat white which I really like and Vin had a medium latte with soya milk which he enjoyed. Very pleasant and not too busy. People watched for a bit then off home.Must say an awful  lot of people seem to be ontheir phones not enjoying a conversation at all though.
Vin said little Jack from next door was at our back door this morning trying to get in but noluck, so he said he went off with his tail down. Aaah, poor little boy think he is looking  for some social interaction.Pity Jess doesn't take to him I think he is lovely.
On the alert and ready to jump off!

It's Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Decorations up, trees are done, and cards arriving by each post.  I did all of mine yesterday so they have been posted, and Vin did the neighbours ones so they have gone also. Just last minute shopping to do in terms of veggies etc., otherwise vin has done an excellent job of getting everything. I don't think we'll starve! We don't have many presents to buy actually, and John and Ann's parcel went a bit ago so all is done really.
W3e have had visits from little Jack next door who comes in for a nosey. Jessie isn't too keen and twends to run off upstairs to hide under the bed out of the way. He is a lovely cat and very friendly, seems to like our house and garden. He loves Vin playing with him and will chase a ball up the garden for ages. She is going away again for the holidays so they wll be in the cattery again. poor little things.
Election a week away now so all done and dusted, we have a Conservative party in charge wopn with a landslide this time. now the labour party are arguing amongst themselves about who is going to be the next leader after jeremy Corbyn goes. Beyond caring really now.

Early Early!

Another early appointment again this morning for nine thirty, which means an early get up and go session. Very wet and horrible day today but we got there a bit early so Vin dropped me off and went to park. Cathy today, with a medical student, and a visit from the Dr., He prescribed memore antibiotics for anothe four weeks, otherwise everything is fine. Got all padded up again and gave them their biscuits. Decided against Celebrations this year, since we got those last year. But as I was going out I saw about six tubs of them in the corner of their office!! Whoops!!
Well the election is all now over,  big big win for the Conservatives, and thank goodness  a bigloss for Corbyn. We still have a Labour MP here but with a reduced majority. Seems like it was a vote against Corbyn, and the activists. They need to do something drastic to bring back the moderate vote.
Nice little surprise last night, I was sitting watching the box when Vin brought  little jack in from next door. Vin had opened  the door to get another log and he was there so he came in.He is a gorgeous cat and has grown since she has been away. very fluffy and cuddly. Good job that Jessie was asleep don't think she would like another cat in the house. I would!
Wot? Another cat in here with my Daddy?

A Little Outing!

Off we went yesterday to Dobbies  on quite a blowy and drizzly day too. Typical december day really. When we got there no wheelchairs to be had so we waited a while and Vin went off to get some logs while I sat in the car and listened to the radio.  Eventually he spotted a lady getting out of one so he nabbed it and off we went to get our bits. It was 20% off everything todaay so a good opportunity to get a few things we wanted. Did spot some nice canberry sauce so got that, also some glitter shortbread  for the podiatry girls, and i wanted to get a few supplementary Christmas cards since the ones I have are being recycled a bit now. We are quite lucky  in that apart frrom johnand Annwe don't have a lot of people to buy for so thatmakes;life easier.Jane seems quite happy with cards and money donations . We then went for our free coffees which were very nice, a flat white for moi and a flavoured largelatte for vin plus two free mincepies that were from a voucher. Vin had one with some clotted cream with his Countdown yesterday and probably the other today. Little Jessie  enjoyed a little blob of creamtoo. . Funny on Monday because there was no cream cake yet at countdown time she appeared in the middle room in the middle of the floor looking up expectantly at vin. Made us feel awful. Anyway yesterday she was fine!
Where's my cream??

very Early Morning!

Up with the lark this morning for us that is. Had an appointment at the podiatry clinic for 9.30 so that meant an early rise and breakfast and our by a quarter to nine. Fair amount of traffic but we kept moving nevertheless so actually got there early. Nobody waiting but still had to wait for  around twenty minutes or so. Saw the newlady today, not too keen on her really not much to say for herself, and a bit abrupt. Not like the others they are really friendly.
We were out by about a quarter past ten and Vin went along to the Co-op to see what they had. Came out with a nice box  of chocolates and some little shortbread stars, and a coffee for the Tassimo. Then home and wewere inthe house by eleven which is when we are usually getting round and about!
Jessie was woken up early Vin said she just about opened her eyes and he fed her, she then went back to sleep. What a nice life!
Vin spent yesterday putting up the trees and decorated them with all of the little things we have. Most of them we have had for years except for the bauble that we have had each year since I have been on the Delia site. I ove those they are all so different. My very favourite ones are a little set of wooden ones that we bought on a trip to London many moons ago and paid £1.75 for them which I thought was really expensive at the time. Not now of course.
Waiting  for sprinkles!!

Monday Morning- No Express!

He went down for his  two papers thismorning , normally gets the Daily Mail and the Daily Express. he gets this only on a Monday because there is a crossword that he always does. No Express this morning so he went off to the garage over the by-pass to get one, It's a new one andoly minutes away so very handy. Just come back with a set of eight snowy globe lights he got free from the Lady Green nurseries up the road which were free from a leaflet that came through the door the other day!  Vin always has an eye for a bargain and these are really nice.
Went to podiatry last Wednesday, back on the antib's for four weeks and have another x-ray in about four weeks time.Apart from that noother appointments to speakof.Quite quick on Wednesday and we were out within the hour so got away with the free parking.
Little Jessie has had a nice normal week, nolittle  cats fromnext door to bother her in the garden. They havegone to a cattery while their mum has gone to South Africaon holiday.
Happily sleeping! Wonder what they dream of, maybe the cream cake that she will get later this afternoon.
