Football!

Gosh how I hate football! Wall to wall on the televosion so all the usual programmes are replaced with it and the rest are repeats! Now that England have beated Germany ( well that bit is good news anyway!) there is football fever sweeping the land.  God help us, there will be more of it than ever.

Vin has gone off to Tesco this morning, as he normally does on a Wednesday. His princess was fed at half past six this morning and then left him alone. She rarely wakes me up unless she thumps her way across the bed and over me which she sometimes does. jane sent a picture of one of her two, Dipsy in bed alongside her. All warm and purry. Aaah! They are really pretty little cats and very photogenic. Chase each other round, and usually together, it's nice they are a pair, will keep each other company.

Work seems to be starting on the Pharmacy over the road, he is building a coffee shop over there, wonder how that will go?

 Somebody come and feed me...NOW!

Sunday!

Weekend again, the usual things for us, Vin generally goes off to Crosby Sainsbury's on a Sunday morning and today is no different. Then he comes home for our coffees and we listen to the recording of Steve Wright's Sunday Love Songs. This a good mix of songs generally easy listening and we read the Sunday papers.  A bit later on we do our crosswords, Vin does the Express one and I do the Mail one. Usually lunch and then the big Mail on Sunday one. Vin is very good at that, his general knowledge is excellent.

Jessie as normal does her mooching about, she is very much an indoor cat really and will only go out if Vin is out there, then the tiniest thing will have her scampering inside.

Big new Home and Bargain opening up in  Formby on Saturday which apparently was extremely busy so best avoiding that direction. Thank goodness for Sainsbury's in the other direction  there is a smaller Home and Bargain there too so that helps. You do wonder why bother going to both Tesco and Sainsbury's but they do sell different things and being veggie that makes a difference.

Waiting for a parcel of soap from QVC it was delivered yesterday but we didn't hear the doorbell so it was taken away again.  If it comes today it will go to the village shop. A bit annoying because we were both in too.

Jessie on her best blanket!

Jane's two tiny terrors in their tower! Aren't they sweet!

Cooler!

Definitely cooler this morning, we had a bit of rain last night which at least will be good for the garden flowers etc.,  and very cloudy this morning but not raining yet. Notice that next door's boiler is chicking out steam so their heating must be on. Don't blame them, I have put my warmer jacket on over my t-shirt so that keeps me warm.

Jane's cats are continuing to amuse, they are lovely little things Ipsy and Dipsy. Ipsy is still wary of letting her touch her but  she sent a little video of her last night of her being stroked while she was on the bed I think. She is on a long day today so it is a good job they have each other to play with.  Jessie was jumping on our bed at some early time this morning so Vin has to get up and feed her then she is fine and leaves him alone.

News at the moment is mostly about holiday destinations and where you can or cannot go.  There is a traffic light system with green places you can go to and then amber and red being no go areas.  Why on earth you would want to  book a holiday at this time till  everything is settled, I wouldn't know.

I love this one of them! Ipsy is the one with the bit of colour on her chest and Dipsy above. Keeping each other company.

This one is Vin and his princess!

Mid-Week Wednesday!

Midweek and the air is definitely cooler today. Quie dull today, we both woke up early at about sixish so then we slept in a bit after that. No matter really, just means that Vin is a bit later going to Tesco but will catch up later.

Jane is sending lovely pictures of her cats Ipsy and Dipsy, enjoying the run of her house now. They have fallen on their little paws there, she has got them all sorts of things to keep them happy, and a nice new taller scratching post yesterday because their claws are getting a bit lng.

These are the little "tiny terrors " as she calls them. So sweet they are. The one on the right is Ipsy and the other one who is the same size is Dipsy. Ipsy is a little wary of her touching her but I think she will come round when she gets more familiar with her. She will let her stroke her when she is on the bed but otherwise is very nervous.

Our Jessie is doing her usual things, sleep eat, poop, repeat! that is how the saying goes.  She has her special places in the house where she goes, on the blanket next to Vin but not by me! under Jane's bed where she feels extra safe, and on the footstool in the front room when she wants a bit of quiet peace.

She will come out for a spot of cream though!

Release Day!

Well it was supposed to be the date today when everything reopened. However it has all been put back to July the 4th I think it is. Too many cases still apparently, now the Sturgeon woman has banned people from Manchester and Salford from anything but non-essential journey's to Scotland.  The mayor of Manchester Andy Burnham is jumping up and down like a box of frogs and don't blame him really. What a stupid woman!

Jane went back to work the other night and has now done three nights which seem to have gone ok. Her sinus trouble appears to be better anyway. She had to leave her catties to themselves but she said they were alright which is a good thing.

Jessie did her usual disappearing trick this morning when the vacuum came out before mark arrived. I think she is still under Jane's bed in the middle room which is her place of safety or refuge. All the months he has been coming she has never come down for a nosey or to see him.  Maybe one day???  She can have a week off neaxt week because he is coming in two weeks. She can have a breather!

Getting ready to do the dash!

Weekend Approaching!

Friday again, and another week goes by. Jane is back on her nights again tonight hope she is well enough to do that.her little cats are lovely and do seem to be coming round to her now. One of them still wont be touched but will let her stoke her when she is on the bed with her.  They will be lovely company and great to come home to after a long night shift.

Vin got some news from the chap who owns the next door house today. A while ago there was a little cat that belonged to one of the people who rented it, they just called it cat! and it used to come into our garden a lot and we got quite attached to it. When that tenant had to move into a flat no cats were allowed so it was found a home. it ended up over the water on the wirral with a lady who apparently had a farm I think. Anyway Vin was talking to the owner of the property next door this morning and he said the cat who is now called biscuit is doing really well and still with the said lady who is now retired so has more time with him. Glad about that he was a lovely cat.

Vin has been off to the garden centre over the way this morning to get something for the barrel this morning, he has just rung up to say he has bought some dianthus so that will add some colour.  The front garden is only small but does look nice with our hanging basket, and the barrel as the main feature. Should be nice and colourful then

Our Jessie does her own thing and woke her daddy up not too early this morning so we had a bit of an oversleep but not too bad.

Are you coming down to feed me then?

Midwek Again!

Wednesday, weather is nice and warm and sunny although there are warnings for some bad weather to come. At the moment it is lovely and warm quite hot even so you do wonder where the bad weather is supposed to be coming from.

Vin has gone off to Tesco's to get the weekly shopping, also to get an electrical fitting for Jane to get the back of her machine in her kitchen fixed. He is very good at fixing things and will sort something out for her. At the moment she is off sick with a sinus infection probably caused by wearing the masks for a full 12hr shift all the time.  She sounded really bad on the phone but got the antib's from her GPwhich seem to have done their job.

Her two cats are lovely, Ipsy and Dipsy, keeping her company while she is off. they look like great fun.

Our Jessie is asleep at the moment after waking her Daddy up at five this morning. hesaid he turned over and told her it was too early and she went off!

Little face looking at you! Five in the morning though!

Monday Monday!

Monday again and no podiatry today so we have a week off which is nice. In fact nothing on this week at all apart from a delivery of yoghurt sometime this week. I had to have a blood test done but got that last Saturday so all finished.

Jane should be back at work today for a couple of long days but she is still suffering fromher sinus problem so is off. She is sending us pictures of her two little babies who are gorgeous, playing in the house, and running up and down. They have a blanket each with their names Ipsy and Dipsy on them. She sent one of Ipsy on Dipsy's banket and then the two of them on the one. Looks like they play beautifully together, they will be good company for each other.  Our Jessie woke her Daddy up again this morning, I said what time and he said there was a five in it! But, she is so cuddly when she comes up that he can't refuse her so gets up to feed her. little minx, always gets what she wants.

Televiaion at the moment is awful, wall to wall football and sometimes on both channels at the same time. The only prigramme to record last night was The Antiques Road Show! everything else was terrible. We ended up watching a programme on Netflix.Must be bad!

 Patiently waiting!

Out Again!

We don't go out on a Saturday for years and then it is two Saturdays on the run! Last week it was a lovely visit to our Jane's new house and today it is a more mundane visit to litherland town hall for a blood test.  Had one done at the Aintree outpatient place a couple of weeks ago not the GP requested one so it was arranged for this morning at twenty to twelve. Very quick as soon as we got there she called my name and was out in a few minutes. Great!

New microwave looks good much smaller and has worked well so far. It was a bit of a trek to St.Helens but worth it to get the one we wanted. Much smaller but tidier for that. Nice handle for opening instead of the push button, and a smart black colour.

Football is wall to wall on screen terrible for people who don't like football like us. Shall have to search for series to watch somewhere. Trouble is it is on both channels quite often. Grrr!

Jane is waiting for her washing machine to be delivered this morning. Apparently they sent a message yesterday to say that the drier is not in stock so that has been put back two weeks. Bit of a pain since they were ordered in April, and they only contacted her yesterday.  She will have to resort to a washing line and good weather.

Jessie woke us up very early this morning lying on top of Vin and jumping up on the bed. I got a good stroke before she went off again. only to return a bit later.

Little minx looks like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth!

Goodbye Old Friend!

Nobody human but our old faithful microwave which we have had for about 35 years. Finally went on the blink last week and there was clearly nothing to be done but replace it.  I bought it on a bank loan all those years ago for our first Christmas at home with our jane when she was about one. Bought a table and chairs and a video recorder also.  Table we still have but the video long since gone!.

It was a Sharp microwaveso since it had been so good we were looking for a replacement. Vin located one which had the bonus of having a grill also but and it was a big but it was not available in any of our local stores. Then he eventually found one in St.Helens and we booked that for a click and collect and went to get it yesterday.  left at about 11.11 and was back by 12.15 so not bad going. Vin knew his way there and we got there quite easily. Traffic a lot heavier than we have been used to must be getting back to normal.  When he collected the microwave which was incidentally paid for on the Nectar points so was free! the lad asked him if he wanted a warranty with it. Vin said we had the last one for 35 years so he wouldn't bother thankyou. The lad thought that was funny.

Home and installed,  much smaller than the old one, which is better, takes up less room and leaves more space for the coffee machine.  Jessie of course had a lovely time settling into the box that it came in went to sleep in it at one point!

Jane's cats are wandering round her house a little bit more now which is good for them. She was talking to me last night as she went into her house then i heard her say Hello Babies! Aaah, it is lovely when two little furries greet you when you arrive.  Her little house is lovely and she seems to be settling in really well. So glad she bought that one and not the one with the cellar that she had been looking at, that would not have been safe for little cats.

Jessie waiting to run when Mark came on Monday. As soon as the doorbell goes she scoots upstairs to go under the bedin Jane's room. He has been coming for a long time but she still does it goodness knows why!

Our Visit!

Saturday we went off to see our daughter in her new house.   The Royal Visit so to speak!

All went very well it is a nice little close of houses so no through traffic which is good for manchester, all the time we were there I only saw one car to the house opposite so lovely and quiet.
All her furniture had arrived and looks really good, nice solid things too, I had given her the money for that on the proviso that she only buys good things which she did.  The house is in really good decorative order, she had a list of things for her Vin to do some of which took longer than expected, and he ran out of time in the end, so maybe that will be another visit later.  There is a problem with her washing machine which the last owners left (broken) so that will go when the new one arrives next week. Something about the cold water fixtures at the back. Vin could have done it but he of course didn't have his plumbing things with him.
The little cats are lovely, hiding away in their igloos but came out for a few dreamies! One of them will let you stroke her but the other is really timid and stays in her igloo watching. Lovely together though.
She is now stressing about going back to her old place to clean out her room before Tuesday. Apparently the German one has bust the washing machine which had a load of Jane's washing in it. Probably fiddling with it to get her wet washing out so she could put hers in! Grrr! I tried to tell her to stop worrying she will be out of there soon and she is much better off anyway but she is still worrying. That's our Jane though.
Reunited!

Thursday!

Getting nearer to the weekend, looking forward to seeing our Jane on Saturday,I hope she is not getting to worked up about our "Royal Visit!"

She has sent us quite a few photos of her little catties who are adorable, Ipsy and Dipsy. One of them Dipsy will come to her readily but the other is a bit more reticent and shy. Sure she will come round in time.

Vin is getting things ready to take with us, he is very practical and takes things he will need when he gets there, the picture hooks came today which is good because she wanted some pictures hanging up.

Very warm over the last few days here as it is over the country. Doesn't seem to bother our jessie though, she finds her own nice little quiet spots to rest in so she is fine.

Here are the little babies sitting in her window!

Is It Monday!

No it's Tuesday actually but it feels like a Monday. These Bank holidays always throw me out. Usually on a Monday we are up to get ready for Mark the podiatrist but he doesn't do Bank holidays so it was today.

Sat here at the computer waiting for him to arrive and the phone rang. It was Aintree hospital and the renal review with a very nice doctor, to go over the results of the blood test done a bit ago. She suggested that I get a blood pressure monitor, drink more liquid and get some cream from the doctor for my itchy legs. That was it basically, much easier than going to Aintree for the same thing and all done within ten minutes.

We are off to see our Jane on Saturday and her new catties. This morning Vin ordered some picture pins to hang her pictures up with. Picture hooks are no good because they have a fixture on the back to loop over the pin no hooks required. Her little bee pictures should be nice.

Been a beautiful weekend really, the weather is certainly turning warmer after the cold wet may that we have had. temps in the 20degrees and above over the weekend.

Jessie of course did her disappearing trick  she knows something is going on  when the vacuum comes out, and her house and garden get moved. She generally goes upstairs under Jane's bed in the corner where she is safe.  very sociable our Jessie! Jane is getting to know her cats, Ipsy and Dipsy. it seems that Dipsy will come to you and be picked up but ipsy is far more timid nd won't let her touch her yet, but I'm sure she will come round.Just patience needed.

He isn't catching sight of me!
