What a Difference !!

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday it was loveely and sunny  but the weather people said that it would cool down by the end of the week and it is doing that alright. Very grey and misty looking today and a bit drizzly now too. Completely unlike the first part of the week. So they do get it right.
We have stayed in today, mainly because we were expecting a delivery but actually  that came early very early really Vin had just gone down to feed the cat.  The bell went and it was Parcel Force with the package. Oh dear sorry Vin!
Our Jane rang up just before coffee time, she was having a nice breakfast of a vanilla latte and a cookie from  Lidl. Must admit they looked great too. She is taking it easy today because she had been on nights the day before so was catching up on sleep.
Little Jessie was on her daddy this morning enjoying a stroke and a cuddle till she jumped down when he went for the coffees, he fed her and she came back up on top of his chest, then he said she let out a big miaow (which I didn't hear) and jumped down. Back to the warmth of her basket. Mind you he did put the heater on for her in case she got cold!!! And the radio too of course because he says she likes a bit of radio two!! A bit of a pampered puss you might say!
Wakey wakey it's nearly time for cream cake!!

Mid-week Wednesday!

Middle of the week again, but we didn't go anywhere today. We were late getting organised last night so since I needed my hair washing and didn't get round to it by teatime I thought it would be better left till today. So no visit to the clinic for a blood test and we will go on Friday instead. Doesn't matter, there wasn't a time scale set.
Sorted out the new bag this morning. Jane had ordered it for me on the Amazon prime and on next day delivery, it came about six thirty as she was ringing us up on her way to work. We had nearly given up because we thought it would be too late but Vin spoke to the delivery man and he said that he finishes when everything is delivered.  No rest for the wicked when working for Amazon then.
Anyway the bag itself is perfect a bit smaller than the other one so fits on the bar very well. It has the side pockets that I am used to for the bits and bobs, and of course it is so much tidier with it being new. I have had the other one since 2012 so it didn't owe me anything!
Little Jessie is up and down as usual, presently asleep in her basket all curled up. She didn't wake her daddy up this morning which is unusual but she did get up when he went down to make the coffees.
Normally found here! I think she might wake up in a bit for her cream cake though!

Deliveries!!

Waiting in this morning for a delivery from Amazon. It is of a new bag for my supplies from them. I have been looking for one for an absolute age and Jane found one from them whichlooks perfect. The one that I have at the moment is very scruffy, and needed replacement. It was ordered on the Amazon prime and on next day delivery so was expected today, but no sign yet at four thirty. Patience.
Nice sunny day today again, apparently this time last year we were in the grip of the beast from the east and all of that cold weather, yet up to now there is no sign of really cold snaps. Still goes cooler in the evening thugh.
We have of course stayed in today but i think we will maybe go out tomorrow, I still need a blood test done and Wednesday is one of the days so we will aim for tomorrow. Need to get up and going though!
Little Jessie is looking lovely in her basket. It must be a great life here. She has her Daddy waiting on her every need , fed when she wants, food on tap miraculously appearing. Cream cake middle four days a week, and lovely clean litter tray. What a life. !
Well I do look nice and appealing don't I ?

Mondays!!

Another normal Monday when we stayed in again. The trains are back on again and consequently the cars are back over the road, and the road is all parked up again. The trouble is that the folks who live down the road have a great long walk to the station so they park their cars and pick them up again at the end of the day so clogging the road up. Can't blame them really, but it has been nice for the last few weeks while the buses were on and the road was virtually clear.
There is a lot of talk at the moment about the unseasonal weather with pictures in the paper of people swimming in the sea in places like Brighton. Someone this morning waas reminding us of the snow that we had everywhere last February. Funny old country isn't it.
Vin has been outside this morning trying to fix his number plate on the back of his car which was loose on one size.  Fortunately he had the right tape which he needed so he was able to fix it on properly. Looked like a fiddly job though. He is terrific at fixing things though so he gets them done.
Little Jessie hasn't moved very much today, apart from waking her Daddy up for feeding she has stayed in her basket having a really good sleep.
I'm just sitting here waiting patiently for my cream cake. I hear he has a nice freshone!

Good Planning!

The4 best laid plans of mice and men! Don't always work, but never mind. The idea was to go and get a blood test done at the Formby clinic but when we got there we found that they had finished at half past eleven. We got there at ten to twelve! Bad timing but never mind we will go again sometime.
From there we went over to the Tesco to get a Costa which was the other thing we had planned to do. The Costa was quite busy really and our seats weren't free so we sat in two easy chairs in what felt like the naughty corner. When Vin came over with the coffees he said there was a free table so we grabbed that instead, much better away from the front entrance.  Vin had an almond vanilla latte and I had a skinny flat white. Very nice it was too, I had a little taste of the one that Vin had and that was surprisingly nice as well, not a flavour I would have gone for but it was good.
"When we got home little Jessie was waiting in the doorway to the middle room miaowing, I don't think it was because she was pleased to see us it was because she was hungry. We went upstairs to get changed and a couple of minutes later she followed us up there. She did jump up on the bed with a lift from her daddy and let me stroke her for a while then off again.  Food beckoned.
Little poser! looking all appealing and ready for feeding.

Wriggle Wriggle Wriggle!!

Came to this morning  with the bed wriggling like mad! I thought it was Vin turning over but it was the cat who was doing trampolining gymnastics all over the bed. Grrr. Can't she learn to be quiet. Her daddy isn't training her very well.
Lovely day today with the sun shining at least the forecasters got that one right. Jane rang up at lunch time or just before actually, she had been for a wander and said it was nice and sunny there too.She is on eight to eight today and tomorrow and then nights over the weekend. Quite a punishing schedule it's a good job they get reasonable breaks in between.
Jessie went out after lunch and spent some time walking about, of course  Vin was on edge, it is funny to watch him, he is really on pins till she comes back in again. Aaah sweet! Then she rolls over in front of him and he says look Jenny she has a nice new colloar. Pretty!
The rude awakening! then she goes to sleep! getting up her energy for the last bit of cream for the week!

Dull and Dismal!

It is a dull one today despite what the forecasters said yesterday that it was going to be bright! Ah well they can't always get it right and more often than not they do. Not raining at the moment but it was this morning.
Nobody went out today including the cat. She woke her daddy up this morning and he turned over so she went down into the middle of the bed and went to sleep till after. Then I felt an almighty jump over my feet and she moved downstairs for feeding.
He rang up Formby clinic about blood tests and it is now a drop in system you turn up and take a ticket so it will be Friday for that, then hopefully a coffee out somewhere after that. Probably Costa since Waitrose son't do free ones any more. The only way you can get a free coffee there is from the machine and you have to take your own cup! Didn't think that system would last long! We don't tend to shop there much at all really because they are so very expensive, the other supermarkets are much cheaper.
Spring is Springing but sadly the barrel is springing too because the metal band has rusted away but Vin reckons he will redo it when the flowers have finished.
Please can you get up and feed me?
Soon be time for cream cake little Jessie.

Online!!!

Stayed in agai8n today, vin had a few things to do round the house and we weren't going anywhere . He rang up about my prescription and they said they would contact the surgery because they didn't have it. Bullens are usually very good about ringing up as soon asd they get one and then arrange the delivery. Apparently it seems the surgery had mislaid the prescription so Vin took over aqnother one. Should hear from Bullens soon now.
We were having a look at sound bars on the Argos online , there are a lot of them on there. We were looking for one to go with the television in the front bedroom that we have just bought because the sound is terrible on it. The one we were looking at was too long and wouldn't fit the table so we went for another which is a boxy shape. But!!! out of stock. Typical when you find one you want they don't have it. Ah well we shall have to wait patiently till they come back in stock.
Jessie was out at lunchtime then Vin was looking out of the window to check on her, and she was waiting to come in. So off he trots to get her in. Jessie's little slave!
She has another basket now because she has outgrown this one. Too much cream cake maybe? No, only kidding!

Springing!!

There seems to be a nice little touch of Spring in the air at the moment. The nights are definitely drawing out and Vin was just saying that his lights outside which are on timers will have to be changed to allow for that. At the moment they are coming on a bit early now with it still being light.  Doesn't seem to bother our Jessie though she still wakes up early to get her daddy up to feed her. He said she crawled up him this morning and butted his nose, but he turned over and she went down the bed and went to sleep for a bit. He got up after a while to feed her then because he felt guilty !
Nice day today too it has been quite bright and sunny, the forecasters were right. We stayed in today because we were waiting for a delivery of the injections from Aranesp. Vin gave them a ring early this morning and they tell you roughly when the delivery will be made. This today was between three and five, and in fact just as Vin went into the kitchen to get our baby coffees after lunch he said if the bell goes give me a shout. Just then it did and it was the said delivery. The driver said that the half term hasd saved him about an hour on his day. Must make a big difference.
This is my cat, because Jessie would never let me pick her up like that!! Jane calls this my dementia cat cheeky girl!!
Here's the other one , the proper one! and it will be time for her creamy treat soon!

I'm In The Money!

I certainly am, after all these years of doing competitions in my magazines we got a letter this morning to say I had won £50 in a spin to win competition. Very nice!
Quite a nice day today, the clouds are clear and the sky is blue and Vin actually pegged some of the washing out on the line this morning too, for the first time this year. Our Jane rang up round about lunchtime to say she was off to Sainsbury's to get stocked up a bit. She is on full day tomorrow and then 8-8 days on Saturday and Sunday so won't have time to go shopping. She was on nights last night so we thought she would be asleep most of the day but she said if she sleeps any longer she would not sleep tonight so she was having a trip out to keep her awake. These shifts are terrible I don't know how she manages them.  Funny thing was she rang up later to say she had given her Daddy a link to a flat in the village we live in which was only £150.000 for a two bed flat. Quite nice too.She was pointing out that if that was in Didsbury where she now lives it would be a heck of a lot dearer.
We are of course in today because we are out tomorrow for  an appointment at Aintree Podiatry clinic. So a nice ordinary day today. We were out yesterday at Dobbies for our free coffees for Feb. A  tiny bit disappointing in a way because they weren't as hot as they could have been but we can't complain because they are free after all.  Didn't buy much just a few bits and we were home for lunch.
Jessie has had a good brush today, she was on the floor in the middle room so her Daddy got the brush out and had a good go at her, she seemed to like it actually and even turned over for him. He got loads of hair off her so less of a chance of her getting a hair ball.
Nice shiny cat, awaiting her cream from the cream cake!  Presently asleep in her basket building up the energy.

Quiet and Still!

An odd sort of day today really, all is quite quiet and still. No storms, snow frost, or winds today. In fact it isw surprisingly a sort of nothing day. Just a bit grey and of course on the cold side but that is to be expected.
A nice normal day for us today, just doing our usual things. Jessie has been up and about and for a little time before we got up was on Jane's bed However when he got up to get our coffee she had gone so maybe she didn't like it there!
I had a delivery from The Fine Cheese Company today. It was a present for Vin for Valentine's day of five jars of fruits for cheese. I thought he liked these until Sunday lunch when he grunted I'm not buying any more of these! After I had ordered them!! Too late shame becau8se they are hard to get hold of now, since theys topped selling them in Dobbies, nowhere else seems to have them. Anyway the doorbell didn't go and there ws a card put through the door to say the parcel had been left behind the plant pot in the front garden. The card said it had been left in a safe place!!!  Not exactly my idea of a safe place.  Happy Valentine's Day lovwely Vin. XX
Jessie is now in her basket asleep, probably till her cream arrives from the cream cake.
Reading the leaflet  with my daddy! How to keep a cat happy?

Mondays!

Another Monday rolls by, we normally stay in on a Monday and today is no difference. Just do nice normal things today, lovely mid-morning coffees to keep us going. Jane rang up at lunch time whilst she was on her way to Tesco to get a few bits to keep her goingsince she has a busy week of work ahead. Shifts all over the place. Good job she has her phone to keep track of them all. I wouldn't know where to start! The thing is in teaching is that the day is always the same hour wise, except for the evenings which were not that often.
Nice day yesterday doing our crosswords, it is always enjoyable doing those on a Sunday, really pleasurable getting them finished. Do have to admit that these days the Internet does prove a very useful tool indeed and also the little crossword solver machines that we have. Vin does one on a Monday as well in the Daily Express which is quite a hard one and without the Internet to help that would be virtually impossible because there are a lot of film ones or current figures in poitics etc.,
Little Hessie went out at lunchtime and was outside for quite a long time too for her. Vin was quite concerned about her and turned the heating up because he said she must be cold after being out all that time. !!!! Say no more!
Never mind ! nice bit of cream from the cream cake later!

Rain!

We woke up this morning to lashing down rain, dark clouds and the trees blowing around. Looked like it was going to last for the day but by the mid-morning it had cleared up and the skies were blue and much brighter. Not exactly warm though. I think it is still cold, mind you that is normal for me!
Jane rang up mid morning, she is having a declutter and is presently clearing out her wardrobe which she says is rammed! She should see mine! Stuff everywhere, certainly something I need to do as well.
Vin was trying to get our Jessie to have a bit of a play after our lunch and he had a nice toy with a pole attaached and a catnip mouse at the end. She just about put a gentle paw out to catch it didn't make much of an effort really. Too busy having a lick.
Weighing up the joys of chasing the mouse.  Never mind, cream cake time soon Jessie!

Shoes Again!

Up with the lark this morning, I had a 9.30 appointment with the podiatry clinic at Aintree and then one at 9.45 with the orthotist to fit the insoles in my shoes and slippers.  Cathy did my feet and also arranged for the orthotist to come and fit the shoes and slippers, which he did a very nice young man who spent ages fitting them properly. Must say it is nice to get back into slippers and shoes again.
We were finished there quite quickly and on our way home well before our usual time for having coffee, so we decideed to make our way home rather than go to Cossta to get a coffee.
When we got back little Jessie was just sitting in her basket just loking up at us. Wouldn't it be nice if we had a cat who would come to the door to greet us. This one doesn't seem bothered really, but she does get up when her daddy comes in.
Anything for me?

Mondays!

A nice normal monday today for us and Jessie too. This morning Vin went off to Formby to get his Express paper beecause they had run out of them down the road. I keep telling him to ask them to put one away for him but he doesn't like to bother them!  Therefore he had to go off to Formby Tesco to get one, and also get a few bits.
It's actually not bad today weather wise no snow and no frost either, so anyone going out early would not have to clear their windscreen.
The trains are off at the moment going through the village and they are running buses from the roundabout going out of the village. Consequently  there is very little walking traffic of people going to and from the train station. Vin walked over to have a nosey and said they have already dug up the platform on the other side  but there are trains running through so it looks like they are just working at night. Poor beggars I hope it isn't frosty for them.
Little Jessie has had a quiet day today working hard at being asleep in her basket.
Early morning visitor, she came up very early to get her Daddy for feeding but  he said it was too early and she gave up till later. never mind our Jessie it is cream cake later!

Hares and Rabbits

The first of Feb already! It really only seems like a couple of weeks since Christmas. Vin went off to Tesco this morning and saaid that the Easter eggs are all out on the seasonal aisle along with the Valentine things. It must be awful working in a shop trying to keep up with the endless routine of the festive things. As soon as you are finished with one you are on another.
The nights are drawing out quite a lot now, it is half past four and still very light outside.Does make a difference, it is a pity is is so cold, the poor little daffodils that are shooting up  in the barrel aregoing to be very cold, I hope they don't get frost bitten. There is a lot of snow in various parts of the country especially in Cornwall and also Scotland and the Lake Didtrict. We seem to escape it here on the coast we don't get a lot of the bad weather, and the forecasts for this area says that it is going to warm up a bit. Good!
Jessie has not been out today unlike her Daddy who went shopping instead of going tomorrow. He says he can have a day off tomorrow.  Jessie was funny today, the little ball thing with holes in it that holds dreamis had just one little dreamie in it. When he came home from shopping it had moved and the dreamie had gone. She can't be that hungry surely! maybe she had been keeping it for later!
Well I was dropping a hint! but I have got room for cream cake. Sorry Jessie we don't have cream cake on a Friday!
