Plans!

The plans for easing of the "Lockdown" were released yesterday and actually are quite complicated. You rend to just read the bits that apply to you really.  I know Vin is dying to get his hair cut for one thing. I tried to get the back trimmed for him which looks not too bad, but i ain't no barber, so expect he will want a proper job doing whenever. Not yet though by the sound of it.  Feel sorry for the people over the way who run the hotel in the vilage, they have had a terrible year of it really, open, closed, open again, open for take-aways, then closed again. Must be so difficult. One problem is that England Scotland and Wales are all doing different things so it is hard to know what is going on.

Vaccines are going on apace, a huge number of people have had their first one, and we certainly have, in fact three weeks ago now, we are due for the second on April the 27th, Jane has had hers about a month before us, and will be due for her second again about a month before us too, we should have a bit of protection by this Saturday, but we are not going to do anything different for now at all.

Vin has gone off to Tesco as normal, Armed with his list but he says not intending to get much becuse we are quite well stocked up actually, no doubt he will make sure he gets the food in for his little primcess. She was funny last night, hanging around on our landing and  waiting for him to come out of the bathroom then comes into the bedroom to jump on top of him. She lies full length, and pads away like mad.  Waits around for some stroking from Vin then  she jumps down and off she goes till the morning!

Down for a nice sleep before getting going again in the morning!

Monday! Monday!

Monday comes round with a relentless regularity. This morning was a little different because it was a visit from mark my podiatry man who generally comes every two weeks. turns out he was very pleased with the progress of the toe, which is showing distint signs of healing over, so instead of putting a padded dressing on it he has just put a normal dressing on it and will come back next week to check it is still ojk. If it is he will be able to keep it going for longer.

Jessie of course did her usual disappearing act when she heard the doorbell go. Don't know what she has against doorbells, or whether eshe just doesn't like the idea of a stranger entering her private space we do not know but she really races away, always under Jane's bed right in the corner where she can't be got at!

Supposed to be a government announcement today about an easing although only a little bit of the lockdown. All schools will go back on the 8th of march and care home residents will be allowed a visit from one loved one and be able to hold their hand if they have a negative test or have been vaccinated. Seems they are on target to vaccinate 20 million people soon which is very good going. We had ours about three weeks ago next Saturday so should have a bit of protection going on soon.  Jane had hers about a month before ours so she will be due for her second in early April. Our second is on April 27th at the same place we had the first done.  Incredible what they have done really.

Nice normal day for little Jessie except for the upset of Mark coming. Never mind only a week to go before the next one!

Here I am ! safe and sound again!

A Bit Of A Change!

Vin has decided to take himself off to crosby today instead of Sunday, for a change.  He normally goes on a Sunday morning so that will leave him free then which will be nice.

Lovely bright day today with a little bit of a breeze but nothing bad. Still quite cold though which is to be expected for a February, not the best month in the year. It is a very slow month, not much movement about the village except for some cyclists going threough on their Tour De France route!

Here one day seems to run into another, and it is the same for little Jessie. As long as she is warm and fed and on her blanket next to her Daddy, she is extremely happy.

Happiness in a little cat's world!

Wednesday!

Funny day Wednesday, midweek sort of nothing day. Vin goes off to Tesco though to replenish the stocks, he generally gets enough to see us through the week till next Wednesday comes round. That together with a visit to Sainsbury's on Sunday is fine.  He has also gone to an electrical shop to get some new tubes for the strip lights in the kitchen, they blow every now and again and are quite hard to buy. He has found a place in Formby so hope they can be bought there.

At least the weather is nuch better than it was, at the weekend it was really cold, I mean freezing cold, but no snow here though, a lot up North in Scotland and the Yorkshire moors etc., places with high hills. At the moment the sun is shining and the temperature has risen somewhat. No doubt the little cats will be coming out to play soon!

Talking of little cats, I woke up this morning opened one eye and saw a black and white face and two eyes looking at me. It was Jessie lying full length on her Daddy, but looking in my direction. Last thing last night too she was on top of him, padding away like nobody's business. Almost looks like she is in a trance. Maybe she is, looks very odd though.

Very unnerving really just being gazed at!

Valentine's Day!!

Happy Valentine's day to my lovely husband today. N hearts or flowers we don't tend to do that but I love him, that's enough. he has been great over the last few years, and I wouldn't know what I'd do without him.

Enough slush,  Jessie and i appreciate what he does for us! Sunday today and Vin has gone off to Sainsbury's to get some top up shopping, and probably the Home and Bargains as well. They are building a big new huge one in Formby opposite Tesco, they must think it is worthwhile and it probably is, nothing like that there. The one in crosby is very good he gets quite a lot of stuff there, including very good logs.  Keeping us going a lot at the moment since the weather is very cold indeed. No snow but just really cold.

Jessie is staying in out of the cold, all curled up on her blanket and fast asleep, no doubt will wake up when Vin comes home.

Tesco Day!

Another cold day today, and Vin has taken himself off to Tesco for the weekly shop this morning. Armed with his list and  since this is added to when he runs out of things it is usually right. He very seldom forgets anything if at all. As long as his little cat is catered for that's fine.

Quite a lot of snow around the country with some very cold temperatures in the Highlands of Scotland, but so far we have escaped anything here. It is actually very rare for us to get snow here maybe because we are on the coast we have only had a few little tiny flurries and that was it.

Covid virus jabs still being done very quickly, do have to say this country has been excellent at doing them, we are both absolutely fine after oursnow, no sign of anything. Twelve and a half million done now which is really good.  Our neighbours are going today for theirs and most people along our road have now been done, the older ones anyway.

Jessie is fine and dandy, and living her life as she always does, sleeping a lot of the day and so on. Nice life!

As long as I have my daddy nearby I'm happy!

Snow but not for long!

Just a light flurry this morning, Vin said it was on the tops of the cars and in the garden but there is no sign now. He has just come up from his walk round the block to say it was arctic out there and there wasn't anybody out. People seem to be keepong inside out of the way still round here.

We both went for our vaccine jab on Saturday, at first we thought there wasn't going to be any after effects but in fact yesterday we both were very tired and definitely a bit under the weather, but nowhere enough to  go to bed or anything. Just a bit yucky. perked up a bit in the evening and slept very well.  So touch wood ok today. The whole process was very easy and painless, Vin dropped me off and I went straight in and he went to park his car. The people there were lovely, very helpful, and steered me through the process very well. Next one is on April 27th  for dose two.

Jessie didn't miss us at all she was in the same place we left her, fast asleep on the sofa, onlu raised her head  when Vin went into the kitchen.

Who is that disturbing my sleep?  mind you I said that at five o'clock the other morning when she landed very heavily on my legs and totally woke me up. I jumped and said "What was that?" Vin muttered in my ear that it was the cat! Lovely! Took me ages to drop off again. Thanks Jessie!

All Booked!

Today (Friday) a bit of a change in routine because mark the podiatrist rang up to ask if he could come today instead of monday because he was off so was doing some re-arranging. No bother to us, so he is due at twelveish instead of early Monday.

Yesterday Vin got down to booking our vaqccinations, he has got the two together which is good, and we are going tomorrow at ten to one for mine and five minutes later for Vins. It is a Saturday but that is no matter, and we are going to Ainsdale which is not too far from us at all. He also got the bookings for the second dose also in April together again and five minutes apart. Very well organised.

Lovely sunny and bright Spring morning this morning, the bulbs are coming up with snowdrops out first and the daffodils coming up as shoots. I do like the Spring bulbs, such lovely colours and the little snowdrops are so pretty. Vin grows them in the back garden then transfers them to the front garden where they can be seen by people going past the house.

Vin has just come up to say that jessie is on the top step, she knows something is going n as there is a change to routine. Vin is vacuuming the crpet in the middle rom and that makes her move, usually upstairs under Jane's bed, but I am in here on the computer, so maybe she will go on the bed instead. When he has been and gone she will surface again to make sure she is by her beloved Daddy!

Grey Day!

Grey day weatherwise and also the day for the grey bin to go round for the men tomorrow. Alternate bins, grey one week brown for the recycling the next. green bins whenever.

New strain of the virus appearing called the South Africa one, quite an aggressive one by the sound of it, mostly down southern areas of the country but there is one in Southport a bit close to home. Advice is as usual to stay home and not go out except for essential needs.  I got my letter about the vaccine on  Saturday but we have decided to wait a little while to see if Vin gets one before we go into making the appointment.

Just had phone call from Mark the podiatrist to say he is off on Monday his due day so he is coming on Friday morning instead, not early about twelve o'clock, at least we don't have to get up early which is a bonus.

Little Jessie woke her Daddy up this morning not too early, so he went down for our coffee then and got going.  She is a good little alarm clock!

She sits by the side of the bed and miaows, until he gets up. He was saying she gets going when she hears him put his glasses on he thinks that is really clever. Aaah!!
