Remembering!

It was big weekend this last one. It was the anniversary of the end of the first world war, so a very big service at the Cenotaph in London and indeed all over the country with each area having its own type of service. There was a small one round at the war memorial as they do every year. We watched the one on the television and I must say it is very moving  all the soldiers marching past with their wreaths and different stories. Being born just after the second world war in 1947 I have no memories of either wars but mu Mum did have a brother who served in the First one. His name was James and he fought all through that one, winning the Military medal but was killed in an accident just after while working in a barracks somewhere, electrocuted in fact. We still have the medal which his mother had made into a brooch actually.
Vin went for the papers this morning and also to buy some stamps from the post office next door. The lady asked him if he wanted Christmas ones but he declined. Wonder what they are this year.
Little Jessie has had a nice weekend in front of the fire when it was lit. She lies full stretch  in front and only once did she get a bit too near, but when we shouted she moved back. Good girl.
Such a pretty girl I am. Waiting for my cream cake!
